I'm an adult woman. I feel like missing something. To me, he looks like a drunk idiot who thinks he's funny. He's annoying and stupid and gets in her way (as many a drunk do) but he doesnt touch her or anything?

I dunno, I'm probably completely desensitized since I grew up around my fair share of alcoholics.

u/Ambitious_Wolf2539 6d ago

you're not missing something. the video title inserted the idea into everyone's heads now they can't get it out. ffs the guy is all over the dad as well too. he's just a drunk idiot, not a perv

u/TheDarbiter 6d ago

I was going to say that it doesn’t seem that his spatial awareness has changed at all actually

163

u/throwawaydisposable 6d ago

thankgod the original uploader put a sticker on this dude's face. imagine getting drunk going out dancing, and dancing so bad the internet hunts you down for being a nonce.

dude crashed into the dad as well, his spacial reasoning was terrible cuz he was drunk. Dad is also on eye level so easier for him to see/avoid while drunk. Don't get me wrong if you see a dude like this in public I can understand fearing the worst and taking your kids somewhere safe but people in this thread are wild

u/mashtato 6d ago

I think the smiley is doing more harm than good, you'd be able to see that he's not even looking at her without it...

3

u/throwawaydisposable 6d ago

the smiley is keeping all the rage and anger on the internet instead of irl.

2

u/cwolf-softball 5d ago

I promise you the people who are up in arms about this video *would not care*. They'd be harassing him.

3

u/clearhit 6d ago

Also it seems more like he was simply trying to not bump into anyone no? Like at the start he gets kinda pushed out by the girls behind him and then at the end (right before it zooms on dad) you can see another guy almost bumping into him

1

u/Sweet_Solid_7746 5d ago

I think there’s a pretty solid chance the dad posted this without thinking of the drunk dude at all and some rando saw it, put the sticker on, inserted the comments and obvious TikTok voice, and came up with this title.

As you reply in a thread where a woman said she saw nothing wrong with this.

Bro, most of the nonce calling on the internet comes from young dudes, and 90% of it is them harassing girls over the age of consent for having the gall to not go out with someone who might be the same age as them but act like a literal child. Those girl's aren't dating nonces they're dating people who have actually grown up.

The other 10% is actually people calling out real nonces and that's not split by gender.

It’s ok. One day you’ll probably be able to trick some (poor) woman into touching you. Just pick someone of age please.

0

u/ProfessorWarts 5d ago

Is that seriously what you think happened? He was trying to trick the girl into touching him?

2

u/sbd2010 5d ago

If you can tell me where I said that then sure.

0

u/ProfessorWarts 5d ago

One day you’ll probably be able to trick some (poor) woman into touching you

Is this not what you meant here?

1

u/sbd2010 5d ago

No because I’m not horrible enough to expect a CHILD to be the WOMAN who might give you a chance. I can’t believe you thought it was even appropriate to make a guess like that.

Love it how you're pretending that you didn't say what you said lmao. Coward.

1

u/sbd2010 5d ago

Sorry I don’t check my reddit for constant replies from dumbasses when I thought it was pretty clear what I meant. And NO it wasn’t that I was referring to the child as a woman meant to touch you. Pretty damn disgusting that you even thought that was what I meant.

1

u/sbd2010 5d ago

You didn’t immediately reply so I’m gonna assume you said something you didn’t say just like you did to me wahhhhhh reply faster :(

This is the first time you’ve ever left a comment reply to me so… that sounds pretty accurate for most dumbasses.

25

u/corvettee01 6d ago

Reminds me of the baseball vid from last week where everybody jumped down that dudes throat for being a shitty husband, just for the wife to tell everyone it was a special outing to help with the grief of a dead friend. Everyone is just looking for an excuse to tear people apart from a short video.

9

u/stilljustacatinacage 6d ago

I was gonna say if anything, his "spatial awareness" probably improved because he was no longer looking straight over someone half his height. Don't get me wrong, drunks aren't fun to be around and the girl has every right to be uncomfortable, but I don't think we need to start a witch hunt here. The dude is crossing into everyone's lane.

3

u/thoughtlow 6d ago

Yeah the object in his peripheral awareness got 3x bigger and on eye level. that kinda helps

2

u/licensed-OG 6d ago

Or the fact that he's probably just trying to get in view on person recording.. a little hard to tell obviously but i dont see anyone else recording

2

u/takesh11 6d ago

He practically danced in the girl's spot causing her to move away a bit when the dad switches he keeps more of a distance

139

u/l3ane 6d ago

I couldn't understand what the title meant because this just looked like a drunk dude not able to keep up with the "dance". In no part of the video did it look like he was targeting the girl, just stumbling around.

58

u/CappyRicks 6d ago

Yup, and that's probably all this is. Took my 16yo daughter to a Nothing More concert two weeks ago. Had a similarly thrashing around drunk guy near us (we were WAY in the back, lots of open space) and like this dad I just put myself between the drunk guy and her when I noticed her getting uncomfortable with him. No biggie.

29

u/Cpt_Obvius 6d ago

Yeah it’s still a good video of parenting, the girl was for sure uncomfortable and in danger from the drunk, but that’s all we can tell from the video. Dad putting her in a safe position from a stumbling idiot is a good move and he deserves props.

17

u/Ambitious_Wolf2539 6d ago

and that is indeed all it is. reddit is weird

11

u/armoured_bobandi 6d ago

Because most people on reddit are terrified of even the implication that they might not be morally upstanding. So a lot of people will grossly overcompensate, making claims that are aggregious and often times completely unfounded. But now you know that they disapprove of whatever it is they're claiming, thus establishing their superior morality

It's all just a bunch of posturing by people afraid of being cancelled for something they never said

5

u/Murky-Relation481 6d ago

Literally had a thread a week or two ago where some 20 year old dude said he didn't find teenagers attractive looking. Like not romantically attractive, but physically. Dude. You're 20. It's not weird to think a girl within a few years of you is attractive, quit fucking being weird, you're literally one year out of being a teen yourself.

2

u/Ambitious_Wolf2539 6d ago

completely agreed

-3

u/Glum-Sheepherder-787 6d ago

Just commenting so that at least one person lets you know that you are the problem.

3

u/l3ane 6d ago

What the fuck does that mean?

-3

u/Glum-Sheepherder-787 6d ago

*sees a video of a man attempting to grind his crotch against a child

*justifies and excuses it as not problematic in any way

You're why I don't even date anymore.

5

u/l3ane 6d ago

The assurances you're making from this 45 second video are baseless. You're the fucking problem. Go touch some grass.

-3

u/Glum-Sheepherder-787 6d ago

It really really is all men.

2

u/l3ane 6d ago

The irony that seeing this and thinking the dude was trying to "grind" on the kid makes you the pervert.

*sees a video of a man attempting to grind his crotch against a child

Wow, you're a fucking creep

3

u/nybbas 6d ago

I came to the comments just to see people debunking the title, then started wondering what I missed despite watching it twice. He steps into her line, when she is quite a distance away, and blocks her that once, but then doesn't seem to do it again. He ends up getting really close to her dad too a couple times?

Like he is a fucking drunk idiot, but was anything here that bad? Reading the comments, you would think he fucking groped her or something.

9

u/smarmycheesesandwich 6d ago

This feels like a weird social experiment tbh. Covering the guys face hides potential context and subliminally brands his behavior as “nefarious.”

But he could just be smiling, making goofy dance faces, and looking relatively innocuous—just drunk.

1

u/DancesWithInkPens 6d ago

He could be a bisexual drunk idiot perv. Just sayin'

1

u/Pinch_of_spice 5d ago

I concur. Dude moves out of the way because dad is super tall. Little girl is short. I abhor drunks but I’m not seeing someone who is trying to perv on a little girl. I see a drunk idiot. I see a visibly uncomfortable child getting trampled. I see a dad who notices and swaps spots.

-1

u/Renbarre 6d ago

No he isn't. He body checked the girl but when dad took her place he stepped away and went to annoy someone else.

2

u/Ambitious_Wolf2539 6d ago

he drunkenly stepped back into her 'line' such that collided. he did not body check her. and how can you say he went to annoy someone else when he almost collides with the dad....repeatedly? ffs the last frame is him almost colliding with the dad again

82

u/jimkelly 6d ago

Bro I literally have a 1.5 year old daughter so I'm much more aware of these things than I used to be and I was like wtf is happening...she just knew the guy didn't know the dance so she didn't want him to fall on her. Stupidass weird video. Another one of those "why is this even being recorded" things.

3

u/Shrek1982 6d ago

Not to mention drunk and stupid can mean a difficult time noticing the vertically challenged. I am pretty tall and my buddy's wife is 4'11" and I have almost knocked her over so many times when we are all out drinking.

57

u/WinNice8445 6d ago

1) His spatial awareness did not improve at all. 2) It is disgusting, how reddit-people label him a pedo. He did not look at, touch or dance with the girl. Real pedo would not do so in front of Family. 3)You all need to reduce social Media. You are SICK!

6

u/_SomeoneWhoIsntMe 6d ago

Glad to find some sane people in this thread, they almost had me convinced!

-14

u/zzady 6d ago

Take a moment to consider the experiences people may have had that make them see this as an intentional pervert action.

10

u/Murky-Relation481 6d ago

Those people are not the brightest or very sheltered if they think this is in anyway anything other than a drunk dude stumbling around during a line dance. I guarantee you people who acutally have had experience with predators and people who are going to grope are not seeing this guy as being any other threat to the girl than tripping over her (it didn't even seem like he noticed she was there, which yah, is also its own problem with girls literally not being seen, but I digress on that point).

8

u/WeAreBums 6d ago

That doesn’t do what you think it does. It’s the people who don’t know anything and haven’t experienced it who are quick to judge this guy.

-2

u/t4t_mutt 6d ago

"a real pedo wouldn't do this in front of the family" uh no, there are plenty of child predators who are infamous for managing not just abuse children in front of their family but become close friends with the family while the abuse it going on. Convincing a child that people are seeing what's being done to them and don't care / think it's normal is a predator tactic. I'm not saying anything about this guy in particular, you're just wrong about that point

12

u/transientdude 6d ago

He nearly hits the guy at the end. He might've gotten better when dad was there, but he didn't stop altogether. Guys are gonna skeez, but drunks are still gonna drunk.

37

u/Godfreys_Slippers 6d ago

You're not missing anything. He's just drunk as shit. He's not trying to do anything to harm the lottle girl lol

6

u/clearfox777 6d ago

Yeah I genuinely think it was just that she was being overlooked, literally due to her height, and drunk-guy just didn’t see her.

3

u/DeadSeaGulls 6d ago

yeah. just an annoying drunk trying to participate. his spatial awareness does not improve when dad switches spots... they almost collide after. drunk asshole sure, but calling him a pedo is bonkers.

7

u/pd1dish 6d ago

No you're spot on. Nothing creepy happened, the guy is just wasted and embarrassing himself.

5

u/feralcatshit 6d ago

I’m glad you said it. I grew up in the south around alcoholics and this is exactly what I’ve seen. I’m usually quick to side eye these things but I don’t think this guy is being a pedo. He’s in his own little world, out of step with everyone. He was doing the same thing to dad. He just think he’s being funny and since he doesn’t know wtf he’s doing with the dance anyway, he’s just leaning being absurd. I can imagine a whole little conversation he has to himself/anyone listening just because I’ve seen this exact scenario a hundred times lol

14

u/jibbycanoe 6d ago

Nah you're right. People just be reading into everything. And to be fair, there's a lot of pedos out there it seems, but I don't think that he even knew she was there let alone targeting her.

3

u/tackleboxjohnson 6d ago

Dude’s drunk and doesn’t know the moves, people on here are reaching. Dude would get laid out if anyone in that crowd had an inkling of a thought that he was trying to touch a little girl here

4

u/Ae3qe27u 6d ago

I also see it as a drunk guy who isn't paying attention to someone who's hip-high, but whose peripheral vision can catch a man his same height.

4

u/Klutzy_Act2033 6d ago

You're missing hysteria, I guess?

Dude looks a bit wobbly and off time, he's also line dancing on gravel/sand and carrying a drink, and not really paying attention. Doesn't seem that much better after the swap either

5

u/AngryRedditAnon 6d ago

Nah you're right. People are interpreting wild things into mundane (although annoying) situations.

3

u/TheWizardJenkins7 6d ago

I noticed that while shes near him he was 90% of the time angled towards her. Facing her or orbiting her until the moment hefore they swap out which is weird as fuck. Hes definitely drunk as hell with no spatial awareness but he didnt orbit the dad

1

u/SweetTalkRiver 6d ago

Exactly. As if he'd be trying anything with the Dad there, who would rip his head clean off. He's just a drunken idiot

1

u/Grumdord 6d ago

It's engagement bait and you didn't immediately create a scenario in your head where he's a villain. Pretty normal tbh

1

u/KrustyKrabFormula_ 6d ago

yeah i thought the same thing. i watched it once and was like...uh a drunk guy who can't dance is making a fool of himself. you aren't alone and you aren't crazy. there seems to be many weirdos in these comments who are reading into it way too much, though.

1

u/jpl77 6d ago

Decent take. This is reddit ma'am...

2

u/teball3 6d ago

Misandry is honestly so much worse than misogyny that a bad dancer is literally all it takes to make an audience of 10s of thousands think he's a pedophile for literally nothing.

1

u/lumoslomas 6d ago

Dad's still awesome for getting between them though, I wouldn't want a drink dude falling over a kid

1

u/Masta-Blasta 6d ago

I’m genuinely wondering the same. I don’t deny he clearly made her uncomfortable. But it seems like more of a drunk bafoon thing than a creepy thing to me. He does line up right beside her, but it is a line dance, and he is stumbling. I’m not defending the behavior (either way, ew), but I’m not seeing objectification or pedo stuff.

0

u/Sad_Assignment_9568 6d ago

They cant help themselves but to insert politics into everything they see

0

u/Sharp_Custard3000 6d ago

Come on, he clearly goes out of his way to run into her, and cuts it out when dad moves over.

-5

u/ALLoftheFancyPants 6d ago

Why would it EVER be ok for a strange man to repeatedly invade the personal space of a kid? At best, it’s clumsy and impolite; but as the video shows it’s purposeful (because it stops when the other man changes places with her) and meant to be intimidating and testing limits. This is bully behavior. This behavior is also utilized by sexual predators.

4

u/digitalscavenger 6d ago

Why would it EVER be ok for a strange person to repeatedly invade the personal space of a kid?

FTFY and that's not even getting into the fact that this is just a drunk guy who can't dance not some perv like you weirdos are making them out to be.

-3

u/ALLoftheFancyPants 6d ago

Because pointing out the gender of the person in the video is definitely what’s wrong with this scenario. Proud of yourself?

5

u/digitalscavenger 6d ago

The gender is irrelevant to what I fixed for you, hence the fix.

0

u/Snipen543 6d ago

You clearly didn't watch the video because it doesn't change when the dad switches places lmao

0

u/ALLoftheFancyPants 6d ago

He doesn’t follow the dance steps correctly next to dad, but I’m not seeing him following behind dad and hover over his shoulder.

-1

u/OldLadyReacts 6d ago

Because he's not "being funny" to a boy or a grown up who would get angry about it. He's trying to "be funny" with a young girl who he knows he can be an asshole to and probably get away with it. If the dad hadn't stepped in, it would have escalated to "Ooopps, I ran into you, let me catch you so I can put my hands on you and touch you where I shouldn't but you'll just think that I was trying to help."
