The only reason people in the comments are assuming the guy was a creep is because the title told them to think that. I guarantee 95% of the people in these comments would basically go along with whatever the title told them to, just like what happened to that poor dude at the baseball game.
Yup. I came here to say wtf…that dudes spatial awareness did not improve in the slightest. Well maybe the tiniest because now he doesn’t have to look down to see if he’s going to collide with someone. But yea. Still def all over the place
The guy was clearly drunk and stumbly and I don’t feel comfortable extrapolating that he’s a creep. And I think it’s kinda gross by the OP (or bot) to imply that.
1) There is NO actual context in the clip beyond, "here are some random people dancing at some event, one of them might be drunk based on how he's dancing"
2) We have no idea who these people are and how they are related or not related
3) It was posted by some anon on social media... for reasons.
4) It was reposted by some anon to another social media platform... for reasons.
5) Somone addes text/narration to it to give it a narrative... for reasons.
6) We don't have a clue WHO added the narrative to, let alone their motive for doing so. Was it the "Dad" in the video? Was it some anon who found the video, added a narrative, and reposted it?
The VAST MAJORITY OF SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT is so devoid of context that viewers can not actually generate an informed opinion/reaction to it. But viewers DO generate instant opinions and reactions.
The vast majority of social media content that any one user sees is "engineered" to maximize engagement. Wether it was done intentionally or not.
That is 100% the reason social media uses algorithms to sort, prioritize, and distribute the billions of hours of content it gets for free. Platforms make money off of how many user users they have and how much time they spend in app.
Algorithms are designed for no other reason than to maximize the amount of views, clicks, comments, and most importantly "time spent in app".
Algorithms do not prioritize content that is factual, informative, lends quality perspective, contains enough context, etc.
Algorithms prioritize content that elicits the fastest reactions possible, lead to repeat behaviors/habits, and keep people "in app" for as long as possible.
Unfortunately we, as a society, FEED that business model instead of REJECTING it.
We tip our heads back, open our mouths wide, relax our gullets, and blissfully accept the dump trucks full of content the platforms pour down our throats.
We fall for the "fast react" content that gets our clicks/views before our minds have even completed a thought about it; click bait, rage bait, Culture War, sex appeal, etc
She was made visibly uncomfortable by the visibly drunk guy. And her dad did clock it and move her. After which she did look at her dad with a smile she hadn't had before in the clip
All of that can be 100% true and the narrative that is being spun can still be click bait.
Inferring context is NOT the same as factual information.
It could just as easily have been a drunk annoying family member with zero intentions that the poster realized they could spin into a very “engaging” clip for the socials.
We have built a world in which “engagement” is monetized, and thus creators/posters want to elicit as many clicks/comments/likes/shares
as possible.
So when there is a void of information it is impossible to know when content is factually accurate and when it is context shifted/edited by the poster so that users will infer whatever they think will rack up the most engagement.
This isn’t about refuting this video in particular. It is about how the vast majority of people are being spoon fed inauthentic narratives 24/7/364 on social media without ever batting an eye.
A healthy society would (mostly) collectively ignore any and all content that is devoid of enough information to truly form a concrete opinion about.
But we don’t do that. We haven’t learned that the majority of content we respond to is “engineered” (much of it purposely and much of it not) to elicit an instant emotional feeling which gets us to engage, rather than us using a critical, logical, or rational thought process before forming an idea/opinion about it.
It honestly looks like the family on the right invaded the people on the left. The man has his belongings toward the front, while the group on the left, including the "drunk man," is in sync with its own rhythm. I do not know what the yellow wristbands are about.
Edit: Also the woman in the background has a similar cup so maybe she's "drunk". Shrug.
Trump raped children and Leftist don't really want to do anything about it while rightoids think it's the coolest thing ever, they tremble with envy before him.
In other words, anyone downplaying this extremely transparent video is getting a side eye.
I do think it improved a bit but I think it had more to do with the dad being taller than his daughter making it easier for drunk man to be aware how close or not he was.
The environment seems to have aot of kids so I'd imagine he's to drunk for where he is dancing. You should also never be drunk enough to be running into children
It's like any Op-Ed news article where the title is a question... "Is (politician) planning (drastic thing)?" -article with no evidence to suggest title-
He looked like he was nearing fall-down drunk both before and after the place switch. The place switch was a good idea either way because you don't want your kid flattened by an idiot drunk regardless of their intentions.
Like the guy just stumbles a tiny bit so the dad moves the girl to the other side, like nothing happened and half the comments are people fantasizing about they would have hit the guy or something
id need to see the unmasked face, where hes looking. one of the top comments i read said "his spatial awareness improved once they switched places".. no it was just as bad.
I'm a dad, i wouldnt just switch places and not confront him about that if i felt he was purposefully pushing into my daughter. I suspect the dad thought he was just a drunk guy.
I love that this is the top comment. It's so easy today to just blindly accept everything at face value and get manipulated by words on screen just because it feels good to get righteously angry at something. And this is not only wantonly exploited, but monetized. Our gullibility is someone else's currency, and we're swallowing it hook line and sinker.
I'm reserving my judgement cuz I honestly have no idea wtf any of them are doing in this video. Except the one guy is just doing his own drunk thing, I wouldn't say he's a predator though.
I was literally watching like huh?? He was still close to bumping into the dad and dancing the wrong way. The dad definitely could have moved his child to not get trampled by the drunk man. Predator would not have been the first thing on my mind if not for the text.
Honestly... he seems drunk. No more than that. Even after they swap places, he's still crowding into the father's space as much as he was the daughter's. The difference being that a collision with the father is far less likely to do harm.
I'm not seeing anything creepy. Just a drunk idiot.
People for some reason seem mystified by the fact that you can write whatever you want on a video, comment, or a title
Maybe it’s because they’re functionally illiterate, so seeing coherent writing anywhere feels like a magic trick and thus must be highly authoritative and factual?
As a dad with three daughters, sometimes you watch because it's special to watch them grow up or have special moments, even then they aren't yours. Just tell the other dad straight up 'cute kids man congrats'
For what it’s worth I just thought dude had a few drinks to many and only became cognizant of the space he was occupying when it was being shared by a much larger person who’s kinda hard to miss compared to the kiddo
Even if he was just drunk and/or a bad dancer, no one wants to be worried about being stepped on or run over on the dance floor, especially when you’re the smallest person there!
I completely agree with that. My argument is him being labeled a creep with no evidence and everybody just going along with assuming he is one just based on the title of this post.
I was an early bloomer. Over and over again it would start like this...then something would happen. They'd trip and grab me on the way down. They'd bump into me (magically, somehow, always into my tits never my shoulder), or they would pretend to be "The FUN Adult" and grab my hands to drag me, an unknown child to them, against my will to do what THEY wanted (often picking me up). It almost always starts like this. Really look at this video. Drunk? Yes. But even drunk adults know to avoid walking into kids...and if they do.. the real ones will apologize from somewhere deep inside the haze and move away to avoid getting into a fight. Yes..if you don't know what up.. this appears innocent. But if you do, really look at it.. start wondering.. why didn't he move towards the other two women? Why did he always manage to bump into the little girl basically crotch first? There were no near misses when he was looking away from her. There were no near misses with his beer hand. Even if it's not sexual there's some weird power issue here.
I’ve got a daughter and I see men staring at her when I chaperone things like Halloween. It’s been quite eye opening to see how many creepy men think it’s okay to stare and get overly close to very young girls. The men defending it are obviously happy letting grown men do this with little girls or do it themselves and think it’s fine.
News flash to them, it isn’t! They need to a stay away from little girls, especially the ones they’re not related to.
There was a viral video last week of a wife carrying a bunch of food and a baby in a carrier at a baseball game and her husband was sitting in the stands. Everybody went crazy and the dude even got death threats. The wife and to come out and clear everything up and let Everybody know her husband just lost a really good friend and she wanted to do this for him.
Last week I did electrical work while watching the kids. Why didn’t my wife help? Because I like most adults can handle it and let my spouse read her book for awhile.
You don’t know me. And let’s keep it that way you sound miserable.
I the main breadwinner, I do all the cooking , I do all the cleaning, I do all the shopping, I maintain the house by myself, I do all the lawn work, I do all the house hold finances. I’m the one that takes off work for my kids sick days, I’m the one waking up for their nightmares in the middle of the night. I coach the kids sports teams all year.
And I say this not to disparage my wife. She’s doing the best she can like we all are.
So please tell me again what bare minimum is? I would be shocked if you contribute much to your house as I do to my household. Go spend more time in r/twoxchromosomes where you’ll have sympathies but leaving your bubble we are all doing the best we can out here giving it our all.
What makes you think it’s not weird? I’m not trying to go for you here but genuinely interested.
It seems these two in the video felt uncomfortable by the random older man trying to dancing with and looking at her in a some type of way. I don’t think an older man being sweet and kind gives off the same vibe as creep.
Until relatively recently I didn’t realise how it would feel, but I’ve experienced it around my daughter.
His face is blurred out, how can you tell he's even looking at the kid, and even if he did happen to glance at her, Is looking in the general direction of a kid for any reason now considered creepy?
Maybe try watching it again. Then look at the girl who is getting increasingly uncomfortable.
No, looking at kids isn’t at all. Of course it isn’t. Has no one ever made you feel uncomfortable before? Without saying anything necessarily but you had a feeling that something wasn’t right?
There is nothing in this video to say the man was going to do anything but what you could see of what he did do, isn’t normal behaviour with a 6? Year old girl. It’s weird. Would you do that? Would your dad? Brother? Uncle? Best mate?
I've watched it plenty and iyes she looks a little uncomfortable because she almost got ran into plus she's a little kid around a bunch of drunk adults, but that does not mean at all that the dude was doing anything creepy.
She is uncomfortable because there is a large, unpredictable, rude, drunk man close to her. He doesn't need to explicitly be creepy.
Honestly the dads reaction tells a lot. If the man really was creeping the dad would have remained vigilant, but here he just gives her his space and nothing more, because nothing more was needed.
Okay. It could be a very drunk very rude man who is kinda innocently interacting - inappropriately with a young girl. It could equally be a creepy guy who is also very rude and very drunk inappropriately interacting with a very young girl.
It’s a difficult position as a parent because you don’t want to/ can’t make a scene and have to keep on smiling so as not to ruin things while being irritated af in either event.
His pelvis is still facing her when the dance requires her faces away. He's not just struggling to follow, he's struggling to maintain focus on what he was supposed to actually be doing, likely because he's very inebriated.
And I've been on Reddit long to know that you cannot believe blindly what the posts title says, and long enough for all the so called Reddit detectives that got innocent people hurt by being so sure they figured out who the Boston bombers were.
Sorry. No. You are brainless like that but anyone else can see he disappears as soon as dad switches with her. As a woman who has dealt with this type of of behaviour as a young girl too it’s pretty obvious. Whats going on here.
Dad switched with her at 00:24 sec. By 00:18 seconds he isnt even in view and the rest of the clip when he appears there is at least a meter or more gap between them.
Thats dad vision bro. It’s like the sharingan. We study every god damn muscle on your body. This Guy was justified in moving his daughter away. The guy turned into his kid. He was drunk which prohibits motor and congntivie control.
I don't disagree that the Dad was right in moving his kid, the only thing I disagree with is calling the guy a creep just based on this video. There's no evidence at all the dude was creeping on the little girl.
I don't know what he's doing, but I don't take Reddit post titles as gospel so I'm not going to label a guy a creep when it looks much more like he's just dancing while drunk.
Country folk vote republican overwhelmingly. That party full endorses and supports pedophiles. So yeah dude was being creepy toward little girls because that is what republicans do. They are the party of pedophiles. You'll even find them in here defending being weird towards a little girl because they view her as fair game.
