Yeah I’m confused by the comments. After the dad switch it’s possible he gets startled, but he starts getting right back to it almost crashing into the dad.
Also, of course his awareness of the dad is better. He’s much bigger and immediately in the drunk dude’s periphery. He’s got to focus more downward to be immediately aware of the little girl.
Something easily done sober but considerably more difficult three sheets to the wind when so much focus is being commandeered just to stay upright.
Nah. It's just women who remember drunk men hitting on them when they were children. It's pretty common to see something that isn't there based on your own life experience. You clearly do it too.
It’s the frequency imo. He gets close to the daughter 3-4 times in the first 20 seconds. Dad switches spots, he moves away a bit but does still move closer to dad 2 times in 26 seconds.
It doesn’t help he’s not dancing in line with the rest of them when it’s a line dance, is it not?
Probably because he can see the dad without looking down?
Edit: also making an accusation that gets people locked up for lifetimes based on “came close 3-4 times in 20 seconds vs 2 times in 20 seconds with dad” is the most basement-dwelling lowlife bullshit I’ve heard
I am a fairly big guy, and I very frequently will stand basically at the side of the pit at concerts to act as a wave break.
It's very obvious when people are drunk and oblivious vs the douche bags who are slamming into people or trying to grind up on women.
This dude just looks sloshed, he's looking the other way half the time and appears to be yelling at a buddy off screen at one point. With guys like this you don't even need to confront them, just plant yourself in between and that's that.
I wouldn't even say his behaviour changes that much after they swap places. He just started staggering/dancing(?) in a slightly different direction, probably because there was some perception he had pissed someone off on the other side.
Hes still a dickhead, and its a shame the girl had to have her nice time partially ruined, but to describe this as some calculated act to get at the girl is genuinely mental.
I'm a woman who experienced creepy men at a young age. I started getting boobs at 9. Old men looked at them. A lot. I actually ended up getting a breast reduction when I was 19.
I don't think this guy is a creepy pedophile. I think he didn't see the girl because she is much shorter than he is and he's drunk as fuck and not paying any attention. It's rude, and he is still being a jerk and ruining the poor girl's fun time, but it doesn't make him a pedo. He does get close to the dad. He's just able to see the dad better because he's in his eye line.
I do still feel how I feel about the video---I don't think he was being creepy. Just rude and drunk and taking up more space than he had any right to---but I do understand where you're coming from with your perspective. I think a lot of women do.
I'm really, really sorry you had to deal with your stepfather. It fucking sucks that we have to go through life being incredibly cautious in a way men do not, just because of things we have no control over. I understand how preconceived notions can form when you have grown up like that. I don't blame you. I truly hope you are in a better place now.
Stop projecting and jumping to conclusions. Nothing in the short video shown is anything that tells us it's "ruined". Also stop damning the drunk dude as some kind of creep.
For example - I once got smashed at a resort beach bar, stripped down to my underwear to go swimming, and stumbled up to a beach bonfire to warm up. It was super dark out and drunk as I was, it took me like .. 3-5? minutes to realize that a family was sat around it, and there were 4-5 young children there. I just stammered "have a good night!" and staggered off in my underwear once I realized it. I'm not even mad they sent resort security to escort me back to my room after that.
Not trying to make excuses; it was just a lesson to me not to get that drunk and act out in public in the future. That was a bit of a low point and I haven't done it since.
But I certainly wasn't malicious or pedophilic, it was just boorish oblivious behavior.
I was looking for a comment like this. I don't want to defend pedos but this just looks like a drunk idiot. Doesn't look like his movement had much change after.
His movement doesn't change, and he clearly is focused on someone that is out of frame of the camera. He's talking to them, looking at them, gesturing to them. He doesn't have any clue that there's a kid almost getting trampled by him. Reddit is unhinged with these accusations.
It's the one of the only socially acceptable ways to show rage these days. Provide flimsy accusations of this, and you're allowed to publicly imagine all kinds of violence.
Yeah I feel like if I was drunk and near a kid in a line dance I would be like weirdly overcompensating for being drunk by making sure I didn't step on them, but that would almost certainly lead to target fixation and make the problem worse.
Yeah, like I do think she was uncomfortable because he kept swaying too close and wasn't paying enough attention to where she was, which does suck for her and I'm glad her dad made sure she had the space to dance without having to worry about that, but there's no indication that the drunk guy had sleazy motives as opposed to just dancing while being too drunk. But reddit can't go five minutes without conjuring an imaginary villain out of thin air and baying for blood. Threads like this are exactly why subreddits like these have rules against doxxing.
She doesn't look comfortable at the end when she turns the wrong way either and she's not even close to him. IMO she looks like she's a bit frustrated because she doesn't know the pattern/keeps messing it up. It probably doesn't help to have a big drunk idiot next to you, but I doubt that guy was a huge issue.
Dancing with drunk people is infuriating, especially in a tight space. This isn't even that bad, but yeah they'll just fall into everyone around them like it's totally fine to do.
He could absolutely be both drunk and ill-intentioned, we can't completely discard that, but I don't see how this video would be enough proof of the latter*.
Also people complaining that they hid his face cannot be serious. Sure, let's record and post a stranger without their consent while implying a very serious accusation with no good proof, that's not gonna cause problems at all...
I'm sorry you have to deal with all these comments. I'll never understand how people can just dog pile on someone who clearly has something wrong with them.
I never seen one woman defend what she did. I seen plenty of women asking for the inconsistencies of the case to be investigated. There’s a huge difference. There’s not a single sane woman who would defend another woman who killed her kids. Now, let’s look at the statistics on who murders their entire families shall we? I’ll give you a hint, it’s not women.
yeah, this made sense. The guy is a potential danger in the wayy that he is unpredictable due to the alcohol, so Dad goes between them to shield her from that.
Yeah, he knows if a drunk guy bumps him, it's the drunk guy falling over, not his daughter.
Actually props to the dad for not making a bigger deal out of it, I don't know that I would have been as cool about him bumping into my daughter even though I think he was just drunkenly dancing.
Oh good, someone else had the same thought. Dude never even touched her. He's just bootin' and scootin' while drunk. It was nice that dad created a buffer so the drunk dude didn't fall on the girl or spill his drink on her, but the narrative of the top few comments is unreal.
I didn't want to watch the whole video because of my own experiences (which includes the reason I never wear my hair in pigtails anymore) but my first thought was that it's probably easier to see a large man than a short girl. After reading I did go back and watch the end and did see drunk guy almost crash into Dad again which confirmed that he's drunk, not aiming for anyone in particular.
Still inappropriate though, learn your limits people.
I was confused when I saw all those comments and rewatched to see if I missed something. Idk, maybe if we could see his face but.. just looks like a drunk guy.
For real, the guy is clearly blitzed and all i see him do is get in her way. He cant keep up, he can barely keep upright, he needs to get out of the line, but its not like hes grinding on the girl. The dad switches places with her, dont we think hed have done more than that if he thought the situation was any more serious than "hey, drunk guy, can you stop crossing my kids lane and almost knocking her over?" I think most of us would have gotten him kicked out at minimum, or shattered his jaw of we thought he was getting up on our kid, not just moved her over 5 feet and kept going.
Okay so why was the one offenders face blocked but no one elses if its not a mudsling? They hid his face to mudsling for engagement but probably know the stretch they're taking and the damage it can do so they avoid litigation with their little smiley face.
I’m a dad of a young daughter and I’m very confused as well. Just seemed like a drunk guy. Totally understand not wanting your fighter near a drunken, stumbling man, but Reddit is acting like something far more nefarious is taking place here and I don’t see it.
He was stumbling and almost ran into the little girl twice, so he's a danger in that way. Dudes a drunk idiot but this is no evidence of being a predator.
This is basically every damn post on this site. Redditors have this weird tendency to over-analyze some minor detail to the point that they get tunnel vision and miss the bigger picture. Then they all circlejerk and upvote their horribly flawed armchair analyses as if they're the pinnacle of intelligence and reason.
If it involves body language or vehicular accidents, then I'd bet the entirety of my savings on the top comment being wildly incorrect.
I know using fauxmoi is almost cheating, but they were eviscerating this dude for letting his wife change a kids diaper and bring back food. How he handled her return apparently is the reason for high divorce rates and declining birth rate. 🤷♂️
I don’t know what’s going on without more context, and I think that skepticism is a good instinct in an age of out-of-context video clips being posted to push narratives.
But I also think it’s a good idea to pay attention to the instincts of those with experience. At first glance it seems harmless enough to me, the drunk guy sucks at dancing. But after reading some comments I went back and looked at his feet. Because “seems harmless enough” is the space where shit happens. You can sometimes tell where a person’s actual focus is by looking at where their feet are pointing. Shoulders are a good indicator too. With the face covered it’s harder to tell, but it looks like he’s focused on her until she notices, and her dad steps in. His shoulders and feet follow her as she moves. She picks up on something and dad did too.
Maybe he’s just drunk and sucks at dancing, and dad doesn’t want his daughter’s boots getting stepped on, but it’s weird behavior.
For real, this dude is clearly drunk and has no idea how to do the actual dance. This is how I would look sober trying to do the line dance also, the dad didn’t want this guy bumping into his daughter again. And everyone wants to show his face so Reddit can call him a rapist or some shit. Jesus chill out.
Oh please, i was harassed by men the most when i was 9-14 years old. Women all over recognize just this. Pedophile or not its harassment and young girls are easy targets
If you watch the video - drunk guy is facing the child and seems to be looking straight at her the entire time he is getting into her space. Once dad takes over, he is suddenly facing the opposite direction mostly and not looking down as much. As someone who’s been a female child (but even male children get harassed sometimes) in public spaces, plausible deniability seems to be the name of the game. Funny how as a grown adult woman no one accidentally bumps into me or touches me inappropriately by mistake. Or leers at me when they think no one is looking.
I’m not saying he’s a pedo, I’m just saying the behavior is quite sus and not appropriate. I wouldn’t protect this drunks face - why use the emoji if it could exonerate him and clearly show he’s not paying any attention to the kid?
Yeah, sure, lots of real pedos getting away scot free as well out there. I wouldn’t trust this person around my kid. Boy or girl. Too many freaks targeting kids out there for my liking. Would rather be overly suspicious than let a kid near me down.
This comment section is enough evidence of why his face needed to be hidden... there's people calling him a pedophile based off of one short video that doesn't even show him touching the girl. You don't think that some people would try to find who it is and ruin his life if they were able to?
No, not unless removing the emoji showed him targeting the girl, and even then, probably not. Look at our commander in chief. Doesn’t seem like people really care about the kids unless there’s -god forbid- a trans person nearby.
I don’t think you mean anything negative by this, but here’s the thing- whatever the motivation of the sloppy guy, women & girls in this country need to have a more sensitive & cautious attunement to men in public than men do. You could very well be right, but women & girls are safest erring on the side of overreaction in these sorts of situations.
This is the kind of situation that plenty of men would see as no big deal, but if women don’t anticipate dangerous behavior more quickly than men do, we are more at risk to be victimized. Maybe he’s just a drunk good ol boy who’s having a little too much fun, but maybe not. And maybe if he catches a woman or girl visibly reacting to his behavior, he’ll blow a gasket. We can’t know for sure just based on this, but the stakes for women & girls can be scary high.
I didn’t intend to cosign on anyone accusing this man of that, if that’s the impression you got let me clarify: this guy probably is just drunk and being silly. My point was only that in situations where a woman feels uncomfortable, “probably” doesn’t always cut it.
I do not know this man, I don’t assume he’s a pedophile. But if I felt mine or my child’s wellbeing could be at stake, I’m going to trust my gut every time even if the situation is subtle or “just feels off.”
Lots of women in the comments have related their own experiences and they have been through stuff like this before. They have encountered predators in situations just like this one. If they’re saying this guy is a predator I believe them

I feel like most of the comments are using their imagination a little too much.
Looks just like a drunk guy and maybe dad didn’t want her dancing next to a drunk guy.
Not saying drunk dancing around kids is a good thing, but the people basically accusing this man of being a pedophile based on this clip is absurd.
“An actual child. In broad daylight. What the actual fuck”
A thousand upvotes, yall are whack as hell, or probably more likely just a bunch of rage bots.
