On October 26, 2022, the judge ruled that Walden's contact with Land should have ended when it became clear that Land was not sleeping in the park or in need of assistance, and that the city was not responsible for Walden's actions.

On November 22, 2022, the city settled the lawsuit for $30,000.

I got stopped by a police officer for being at a disc golf course in a park in west Virginia. Finished hole 18 and on my way to my car (only one at the park) I noticed a cop car was blocking me in. Weird. When I was walking towards my car the cop got out and approached me. He immediately asked for my ID. I told him I'd comply, but what's the problem? He said "we get a lot of drug use in this park so I ran your plates and need to verify your registration." So I'm under suspicion for being at the park.

No drug addict is playing disc golf after buying street drugs. Well, of the slim chance they are, they're harmless. Like a golden retriever getting addicted to H or something.

Look, I dislike Abbott and all the clowns that hurt our state but this just isn’t true about “that’s a felony”.

You can legally go into a shop and buy hemp derived THC delta-9 gummies for example…

Delta 8 is illegal in Texas as of July 31. You can get a felony for possessing it.

You realize delta-9 is the actual THC from the plant? Delta-8 and 10 are synthetic. Those are now banned.

The plant derived stuff is still legal.

I just don't care to argue over here. I live in Texas and have been following the developments around marijuana possession in the state. I don't even smoke weed, but this state is ass backwards on policy.

Well I also live in Texas and smoke weed occasionally. I literally walk into shops and legally buy it.

I also make it a major point in my life to keep my mouth shut when I don’t know what I’m talking about. I do agree with you, we have a long way to go but spreading misinformation is not the way forward.
