Discussion The easiest $30k this guy ever made

On October 26, 2022, the judge ruled that Walden's contact with Land should have ended when it became clear that Land was not sleeping in the park or in need of assistance, and that the city was not responsible for Walden's actions.

On November 22, 2022, the city settled the lawsuit for $30,000.

Imagine the asshole that called it in- “I’m offended that this individual is at peace and enjoying life- I must object” fucking insufferable.

I can only imagine the bitter loser that would call the police over that

As long as no one has an ounce of pride for the country that allows that to happen

When we moved into a new home a new neighbour complained on community noticeboard of the new neighbours bringing a cat, we don't have a cat.

Same neighbour called the council about our dog barking, the dog died a month prior.

"If he has time to lay down, he has time to work.. surely. Makes me sick"

I live next to one of them. He doesn't like seeing my cats, so he's trying to get me evicted.

Hate to tell you this, it's much worse. "I'm offend that a homeless person is enjoying the same park I do" is what that person was thinking. They suck.

For my New Year’s resolution I walk two miles, about 45 minutes, around my neighborhood every day. When I started making this walk I would carry my black plastic polypropylene HEMA training axe. It’s the same weight as the axe I fight with (which was new at the time) and I wanted to get used to the feel of it. Just walked the big loop of my neighborhood with what was clearly a fake axe, didn’t even swing at plants or poles or anything, stayed on the public sidewalks, didn’t want to make anyone nervous, just trying to make a mundane exercise I hated and didn’t want to do a little more whimsical; if it was a quest or training then it was a little more tolerable. After a few months of doing this without incident, a couple of cop cars pulled me over, cuffed me, and sat me on the curb. Someone had called them about me walking around with an axe and a police chopper had spotted me. All the officers had a good laugh once they actually saw it, were like “In no way should this have been mistaken for a real axe, we’re sorry to inconvenience you over some HOA busybody,” and let me go. I wasn’t hurting anyone and was walking whimsically around the neighborhood I grew up in, still got accosted and cuffed. I walk with a Wizard staff these days.

I think assuming that the cop isn't lying about someone calling is a mistake...

Yeah. Like this is a systemic issue on multiple levels. The cops shouldn't be able to just walk up on you and be this way and some fucking narc is trying to criminalize homelessness because even if this guy was homeless fuck that shit.

And then the fucking bootjacks hop too and go harass the person peacefully sleeping. The country is absolutely fucked

I remember my buddy laying down across the street from a church and just staring at it. I freaked out pretty good im like a cop could go by.. he laughed so hard. I was ahead of my time... but also he was the one who was right.

You DO know the cop could also be lying about that, too, right? They are flat-out allowed to lie.

Perhaps it's just my particular city, but when I see a person laying by a bench, my first thought is that they are neither at peace nor enjoying life

the wisps of crack smoke hovering above them are also a giveaway

Sounds like they're enjoying life their way
