Discussion The easiest $30k this guy ever made

On October 26, 2022, the judge ruled that Walden's contact with Land should have ended when it became clear that Land was not sleeping in the park or in need of assistance, and that the city was not responsible for Walden's actions.

On November 22, 2022, the city settled the lawsuit for $30,000.

It's funny because I see comments from Americans(probably right wing bots/Russians/Indians) telling me my country is a police state.

America, laughs at other countries for having surveillance cameras calling them a police state.

Also America, installs one of the most invasive surveillance camera networks.

Well, you see, surveillance in other countries is bad because they don't have Freedom™, but when it's in the US they'll tell you it's to keep everyone safe and doesn't restrict your Freedom™, so it's good! If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear, they'll say.

See how it's totally different? USA! USA! USA!

Unless it’s guns we can’t have any surveillance on those because that would be restricting our freedom. Or their freedom.

And they also have guns, which was proven to solve their every problem.

I mean, in what other country do they have Freedom Fries?...

To be fair, the camera network thing is pretty recent.

And they are being removed, cut down, set fire to and more. Flock has suffered enormous losses and the value of the stock is falling. You got the first half of the story, it's important to get the second half, too, otherwise people will think you're cherry picking with some agenda. It's fine to hate America, just do it in good faith.

This is what you are getting wrong.

Those Flock cameras that are being removed, cut down, set fire and more have cost you. Contracts with Flock have been between them and states/cities, paid by your taxes.

Flock's losses are your losses. Contracts are being renewed and signed. Texas just signed a BIG +$20M contract, they knew how impopular Flock cameras were, and still, in the mid-term elections enough texans will vote R because that is what they do.

I do not hate America, there are valid criticisms for it's people. Too many are too darn dumb and hateful.

Sure, but they already spent the money. The kids standing in front of tanks in tiananmen square had paid for those tanks with their tax money. What's the difference?

Also, I live in Minneapolis, so it's going to be hard to convince me I'm in on this Trump Black Mirror shit.

I get that all the time living in California. I'm constantly told that my state is nothing but homeless camps, wildfires and communist indoctrination camps, and my days are simply spent trying to avoid them.

...but if you think you're free, try walking into a deli and urinating on the cheese

I mean he literally got paid a settlement because his rights were violated

Freedom to get your rights violated.

Freedom to pay taxes for settlements so the police is not held accountable for their actions.
