Discussion This is a disaster waiting to happen.

The dog isn’t allowed to be around a toddler because he growls at her. I don’t get it. A family dog is supposed to get along with the whole family. Why are the parents concerned about why the dog “doesn’t like her”? What about the child’s safety?

I have 3 dogs (1 large, 1 medium, 1 small) that are the bestest boys and girl ever. They are so sweet and loving and gentle.

BUT!

There’s a guy on reddit who was attacked by his dog during a seizure and he’s had like 15 surgeries to fix his face. He often posts updates and such of his journey.

I also have seizures. And now it often crosses my mind how my dogs will react if they ever see me having one. Will they attack me? They’re animals, so that possibility is always there.

If any of them EVER acted this aggressive towards me or anyone, we would immediately have to rehome. It’s too dangerous.

Edit: to note, only 1 of the 3 has pit, and it’s less than 10% American pit bull terrier

Get any other dog breed. A golden would be at your side wanting to help if you had a seizure. Get a breed not made for fighting and boom problem solved

I mentioned my mom has a service trained GSD that cues her to do certain things before she has the full on seizure. From moving her away from things that could be a danger, advising her to sit down, try to find the softest place and guiding her the whole time. It’s truly amazing.
