Much like other big third party companies like Activision, EA, Capcom, Bethesda and so on, Square Enix has naturally dipped their toes into the wide world of collector’s editions. Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Nier, and I’m sure plenty of others had their opportunities of offering extra physical goodies to entice potential buyers. And unlike some of the companies I just mentioned, you may even get a copy of the game with your collector’s edition! Now with all that laid out, what are some of the coolest Square Enix CEs you own or that you’ve seen? And do you think any of them were worth their original asking prices? Why or why not?

I’ve been seeing all the posts on IG for rereleases of Square Enix’s games on for the NS2. The company is NOT offering any upgrade path for those who own the NS1 version of their games. FFX/X2, DQXIS, Octopath Bundle
I find this greedy and a slap in the face for the loyal fans. Square needs to realize the genre of games they produce is a niche. Thus requiring the need to retain their fans. Not offering an upgrade path is the wrong decision. This needs more attention from the community.

In KH x Back Cover, we get a good look at how The Master manipulated The Foretellers into carrying out the ‘baby steps' of his plan. When this cinematic was released it was everyones first time actually seeing The Masters personality in full action. He carries a goofy-like, playful attitude, while also having mysterious and manipulative qualities.

Before this, everyone assumed he would be this stoic, wise, mage-like wizard figure that kept a serious tone. Instead everyone met a chaotic, trollish guy wearing a black coat who talks with intense sarcasm, someone who gaslights their apprentices for fun, and someone who acts completely unfazed by the impending doom of the world.

Here is a Quote from Tetsuya Nomura:

"The power of waking is essentially 'the power to put sleeping hearts back the way they were’, but the impact of forcing his friends fading hearts back the way they were rewrote reality, creating a singularity. The rewrite caused the chronology in which they were destroyed to have 'never happened.'"

A 'singularity' within science, mathematics, and technology, is a "point" where normal rules, equations, or physical laws completely break down.

Let's take a black hole for example:

"Classic physics states that when a massive star collapses, its entire mass is compressed into a geometric point of zero volume and infinite density. This point sits at the absolute center of a black hole."

This point that supposedly exists at the absolute center of a black hole is a singularity.

Now, what I have theorized is that with Sora abusing the Power of Waking to rewrite time, and with Tetsuya admitting that Sora creating a singularity, I put the two together and came to the conclusion that because Sora’s abuse of the Power of Waking, he tore a hole in the timeline and spawned a singularity, I believe that The Master isn’t just an ancient Keyblade Master from the past— he is a paradox created by Sora’s unguided use of power.

Stay with me now.

In theoretical science, and black hole thermodynamics, the holographic principle suggests that the 'event horizon' of a black hole is what keeps all information stored at its core, meaning the event horizon essentially acts as the boundary of stored information.

Anything that crosses the event horizon is essentially gone forever, though ‘Hawking Radiation’ causes the black hole to slowly lose mass and eventually evaporate (I’ll get into Hawking Radiation in just a moment).

The coat that the Master of Masters wears could be a metaphorical event horizon that keeps all the information regarding his plan, his identity, and his name completely locked away. He uses the knowledge he absorbed after being tossed backwards in time to write the Book of Prophecies, and hands out 5 copies of the book to The Foretellers.

If this singularity absorbed an entire timelines worth of future information, that is a massive influx of data that is likely creating extreme internal pressure at the absolute center. To prevent a catastrophic overload, The Master uses 'surface encoding' and projects that compressed core data outward onto a boundary layer, thus creating 'The Book of Prophecies'.

In physics, 'Hawking Radiation' is a term explaining the theoretical thermal radiation emitted by black holes, due to quantum effects near the event horizon, causing the black hole to slowly lose mass and "evaporate" over-time. These black holes slowly leak out a tiny bit of heat and information over-time.

(This explains what The Master says here to Ira)

The Master: “If one day I suddenly disappear, I’m counting on you to keep the others calm, okay?”

Ira: “huh? Dis…appear?”

The Master: “Vanish? Dim? Fade? I don’t know how to explain it. It’s just hypothetical talk.”

The Master of Masters tends to hide his true intentions behind his playful, goofy-like persona, but he usually mixes that with cryptic messages, deliberate lies, and half-truths to keep those around him from knowing his secrets. It is not safe to trust what The Master says to those around him, as they could potentially just be fabricated lies to hide his true information from leaking out.

When The Master is speaking to young Xehanort in the Keyblade Graveyard, Xehanort asks him if he is some kind of fortune teller. The Master responds by telling Xehanort that he could lie and tell him that’s who he is, but really he is a brilliant artist, or a scholar.

He continues speaking in a cryptic like manner that only leaves Xehanort without a clear answer. So, Xehanort asks him for his name again and The Master gets noticeably annoyed by Xehanort. I believe The Master got annoyed by Xehanort because he was trying to divert the conversation away from who he is, but he failed.

Now, what this scene actually shows it’s what’s called a ‘Transient Outburst’. In black hole thermodynamics and astrophysics, a transient outburst is a sudden, short-lived spike in high-energy radiation (gamma-rays, X-rays, or optical light) caused by a violent disruption or a rapid influx of matter near the event horizon. It represents a temporary non-equilibrium state where the system rapidly discharges excess thermal and gravitational energy before settling back into equilibrium.

I believe Xehanort disrupted The Master and triggered this Transient Outburst and that’s why he had a shocked reaction, not because Xehanort heard a name he was familiar with, because after this cutscene we hear Xehanort admit that he never learned who he was and probably never will, and he was right.

It’s a beloved series for us PSP fans, however the saving grace was NT and the 3v3 aspect severely killed the hype for me, it was so unnecessary imo, why can’t we get a 1v1 format like the PSP version, I don’t mind short combos or assists like in the previous versions.

I do have some concerns they’re afraid people will hate it, because of spamming (I was on AD HOC party so I know how crazy some spam was.. I’m looking at you, Yuna and Kuja ಠ_ಠ.) but I think the devs had a great system for it.

Assists save you and can extend combos, you can mix and match assists. In order to prevent spam I would implement a skill counter, if the player continuously abuses a good bravery/Hp attack, the enemy gets extra invincibility or you have more attack lag after the attack twice and the counter stays for a hidden timer. Spammers NEED to be punished in Dissidia.

I would also like to have skills (like in the mobile game), give the omni-dash cancel frames for some tech.

Classic Costumes, alternate costumes, Customizable accessories, Ultimate weapon cosmetics, Profile cosmetics etc for monetization.

There’s seriously an untapped market for the dissidia franchise.

Let me know your opinions, this is just me drunkenly longing for a good dissidia on console. I’m very interested to hear the community on this or you can make fun of my bad grammar. 😭

I am a huge switch/mobile gamer. A few things about this frustrates me, but surprisingly Microsoft of all companies has given me hope.

I really wanted a Visions of Mana game for the Switch 2. But even if released on the Switch 2, it would more than likely be a GKC. That is fine, I have bought one so far and possibly would pick this up another. Not ideal though.

Now unfortunately SE has not announced support for Microsofts D2D, but my hope is that they eventually do. Then I could play this on a ROG Xbox handheld PC. But even if they don't I have the game in my possession.

Anyways, if they do eventually along I will be picking up Star Ocean: The Divine Force next with hopefully the same out come.

1. When Sora faded from existence, fans assumed that his entire existence fades away. During that moment on the Paopu Fruit Tree, we see Sora’s vessel and soul fade away, but we are left entirely blank when it comes to Sora’s heart. You see, in the lore of KH, when a heart usually reaches its last moments, it is removed from the vessel so that it may be absorbed by Kingdom Hearts. Kingdom Hearts is the origin point of all hearts—according to established lore within the series— so this is what occurs once a soul has perished. But when we see Sora fade away, his heart never leaves his body and we never do see it.
2. Fans believe the Masters’ ‘black box’ contains either his copy of the book of prophecies, an ancient weapon, or the primordial darknesses. But Tetsuya Nomura deliberately skipped the plot of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest’ and opted for an adaptation of the next film in the franchise ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End’ instead. Tetsuya stated that, they wanted to have a vast open ocean for players to explore so they can captain a ship and travel to diverse islands. While this was exciting, it feels like Tetsuya did this for other reasons. The plot of the movie that he skipped in particular, is literally about locking a dead man’s heart in a box. This should be groundbreaking news regarding the “black box” and what its true purpose is. My theory—The Triangular Paradox Theory—explains that the Masters’ box essentially acts as a container or a “vessel” for Sora’s heart before it is erased along with Sora’s vessel and soul.

3. In the trailer for KH4, we see Sora wake up in Strelitzia’s apartment in Quadratum. Fans believe Quadratum is ultimately a spiritual afterlife, or purgatory for Keyblade wielders who just happened to fade from existence due to extraordinary circumstances, but this is entirely false. The secret epilogue of KH3 debunks that theory, Yozora is the sole reason why Sora ends up in Quadratum. It isn’t the universe planting him there. Yozora “saved” him.

4. The reason why fans speculate this and believe it, is because of Strelitzia’s dialogue. She states that Quadratum is an “afterworld” and fans have taken what she says deliberately and I feel that is a mistake.

5. Sora wakes up in her apartment, he breathes, he has all of his senses, and he functions perfectly fine despite lacking his heart. In reality (The Realm of Light and Darkness) a heartless-vessel would become a nobody. Therefore, Unreality MUST work extremely different than that of Reality. What I theorize—extending off of The Triangular Paradox of course—is that the Realm of Unreality runs on a quantized atmosphere which is identical to real-life biology. Meaning the literal air Sora breathes within unreality, allows his vessel and soul to operate independent of a heart. To prove this, in KH3, when Sora speaks with ‘The Nameless Star’, Sora talks to her about belief and the process of believing in something. ‘The Nameless Star’ is noticeably puzzled at what belief is, it’s as if she’s never heard of it before. Could this be because she doesn’t have a heart in the same sense Sora does during that moment in the final world?

7. As Sora is being guided around the city of Quadratum by Strelitzia, Donald and Goofy magically appears in front of Sora without warning. It is safe to assume that they navigated the Underworld in search for Sora first, and then was given direct clues as to where he is by Hades. Hades being the Lord of the Dead, it would make narrative sense why Donald and Goofy would travel here. Hades uses his powers to tap into the Astral Plane, and this is how Donald and Goofy appears in front of Sora. Sora’s reaction left fans confused, they couldn’t understand how the boy that spent most of his life around a duck, and a tall dog, would faint after seeing them after a few days. The truth lies in Quadratums laws and rules of existence. If Sora’s heart isn’t with him, and his vessel and soul are operating without his heart, then that literally means that Sora has no way of remembering Donald and Goofy. The heart retains memories, and with my theory, I established that Yozora’s actions could have caused Sora’s memories to be scattered across the worlds in unreality, but because Sora’s heart is locked away tightly inside the box, he cannot remember his deepest most cherished memories.

I had planned to go to the concert on April 10th 2027 but unfortunately that has to change. The 2 tickets I ordered at the Bass Center’s website says they are non-refundable. I don’t want these tickets to go to waste, I do want to do an exchange with someone on here if they’re in the Fort Worth area but I’m not sure how to reach out. Hi I recently lost my copy of Star Ocean Till the End of Time and I'm looking to buy a replacement copy but I find the same game with two different covers and I'm not sure if either is fine.

After playing Final Fantasy VII: Remake and Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth I'm definitely buying Final Fantasy XV and Final Fantasy XVI.

I recently purchased Final Fantasy VII: Remake and Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth for PS5 and they are great and fun as hell to play. I plan on purchasing Final Fantasy XV and XVI as well. I played the original Final Fantasy VII for PS1 back in 1997 and it was the game that got me hooked on RPG's. I still say it's the greatest game of all time. Big thanks to you guys for remaking the game.

This is an article that I wrote and released a day or two ago, taking a look at Dragon Quest Builders 2 and the way that it uses direction and guidance to help the player develop and enhance their creativity, whilst also still offering enough freedom for the player to make whatever they build still something uniquely their own.

Whilst the article is focused upon the gameplay rather than the story, there may be one or two minor spoilers, yet nothing that should ruin the experience for you. Still, please keep that in mind if you have not played this game.

Given that Dragon Quest is a Square Enix property, hopefully this is okay to share here, but please let me know if it's not.

With the difficult period DON'T NOD is currently going through, I started wondering : What if Square Enix acquired DON'T NOD ?

I think it could be an interesting idea, especially because Square Enix and DON'T NOD already have a history together with Life is Strange. DON'T NOD created the original game, while Square Enix published it.

Personally, I also think DON'T NOD had a very distinctive way of telling stories and creating characters.

But more importantly, I think an acquisition could allow DON'T NOD France and DON'T NOD Montréal to work more closely together.

The idea would be for both teams to work together on the same projects instead of being completely separate. With good organization, they could divide the different parts of development and work on several aspects at the same time, similar to how some of the biggest game studios use multiple teams across different locations.

And this could open the door to several interesting projects.
For example, new Life is Strange games, with DON'T NOD potentially returning to the series it originally created.

But also Sleeping Dogs.
We could imagine a remake of the first Sleeping Dogs, followed by a sequel, and potentially even more games set in different cities and countries across Asia.
Each game could have its own story, characters and setting while still being part of the same universe.
With DON'T NOD France and DON'T NOD Montréal working together, Square Enix could have multiple teams contributing to these projects and sharing the workload.

So basically :

Square Enix acquires DON'T NOD → DON'T NOD France + DON'T NOD Montréal work together → new Life is Strange games, a Sleeping Dogs remake, a sequel, and potentially several new Sleeping Dogs games set across Asia.

Obviously, this is just an idea and I’m not saying it would be easy to make happen. But I think it could be an interesting way to give DON'T NOD new opportunities while also bringing some of Square Enix's older franchises back.
