Idris not bond material though. Cavil did nice in mission impossible

Idriss would have made a GREAT Bond like 15 years ago. Dude has gravitas, physical presence, and is smooth as hell. I think he would have made hell of a Bond movie.

How was/is Idris not Bond material, exactly?

Idris would have been great as Bond. Too old now though, unfortunately

You won't convince me his race didn't play a role in him not being cast, but I do think you're right about his age now, which is a shame.

Probably more a timing thing than anything else. Idris wasn't as big of a star back when Casino Royale got cast.

He himself has said before that he didn't try for it, and was never even in the running for it.

That said, I think he would have been great in the role. If they did a one-off (only one because of his age now) Bond film starring him, I'd 100% buy a ticket to see it.

Hated him in that awful hobbs vs shaw, and not his character, his acting. Face doesn't move. Accent doesnt suit the role. Daniel craig was so fucking raw and brought his all in the earlier ones. Also, lashana was a fine candidate.

I'm not sure we can hold Hobbs and Shaw against him, since I imagine he was told to be emotionless in that role.

And I have an American ear, so I know there are differences in English accents that I can't pick up naturally, but what's wrong with his accent?
