Guy's living the dream and making psychotic spreadsheets about it.

It's comments like this that make me think my father was possibly a rabbit

Most would be if we had consent to. Sex doesn’t have negative effects for guys. Even though this will be downvoted.

I am so, so, so happy I'm a gay man.

Being happy with who you are is important.

Pretty sure this isn’t normal for straight people either, I’m personally shocked. 26 relationships none this devoid of sex.

26 relationships is quite a sprint lol. Would you call yourself a serial monogamist?

Serial yes, monogamist no. Currently in three person (like we sleep in a pile) relationship).

Having sex 3 times a month is not a dead bedroom at all.

It's below average and below the point where most relationships claim they are happy.

True, but the specific subreddit restricts dead bedroom to meaning less than 10 per year and at least one party is unhappy. Only one of those conditions is met a 3/month.

Without context, this frequency could be higher or lower than normal for some circumstantial reason, but I assume the guy shared it to his wife and the internet because its pretty low for them.

Pretty sure if you got to the point of excel for sex you’re unhappy

Making a slight leap here, but it's miraculous the lass found the energy to have sex with this dude three times in one month when he put more effort into his spreadsheet for internet points than communication, presumably. Probably fake anyway so whatever, but sometimes people have sex less in a month too and that's fine. I'd be on feckin' edge if I felt I need to hit a sex quota, don't bring middle management into the bedroom is my advice, never works out.

Cool, it’s still not a dead bedroom by any stretch.

A dead bedroom is generally defined as less than once a month. Average is roughly once a week in a healthy marriage. Either way, that couple should divorce.

Where is this average in stats?

1

u/pan-re 23d ago

Yeah, what’s the average then?

I'm not Google.

That's where I saw it linked from!

Well, the better, non-plural version.

While there is no specific definition for a Deadbedroom. The generally accepted definition is sex less than 10 times a year. The average amount of sex in married couples is once a week. So this couple is just under the average at 3 times in a month.

Not saying this has to be enough or that you can’t want more sex/ get divorced because it’s not enough. But this isn’t a dead bedroom by the generally accepted definition. Most people in the dead bedroom community would weep with joy at being able to have sex 3 times a month.
