I read where many states have laws that allow a defense for rapists if the victim had voluntarily been drinking or doing drugs. How can this be an excuse for rape? If a person is too intoxicated to give consent, it is rape

Please finish what the house already passed this year! This may be the only thing a bipartisan majority can actually agree on right now. If any of the states miss their right to change their clocks twice a year, they can address that as an individual state and stop forcing the rest of us to disrupt our lives for them.

April 17th 2026, he declared the Strait of Hormuz "completely open & ready for business".

May 23rd, 2026, he declared the Iran deal "largely negotiated".

June 14, 2026 “the deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete & I am authorizing the re-opening of Hormuz.

March, April & May & September also came multiple machismo bull ##it with ultimatums about destroying the Iranian civilization; destroying their civilian infrastructure; taking over of Kharg island & taking Iranian oil...

RECAP OF WHERE WE ARE

This is a self-created war, and there was never any imminent threat.

Neither the IAEA nor our own Intelligence believed that there was ever any imminent threat. In fact, Trump’s own (self-professed, MAGA) Director of counter terrorism, Joe Kent resigned because of his disagreement with Trump.

Not a single US ally other than Israel, joined us in the war. That itself should be telling, in terms of how imminent the threat was.

We did not achieve regime change. It is the same regime, except younger & more hard lined.

We did not demilitarize Iran. US intelligence estimates that 60/70% of Iran’s military & air capability remains intact.

We did not remove Iran’s nuclear threat. IAEA believes that Iran still has 400 to 440 kilograms of uranium enriched up to 60%. This level of purity is just a technical step away from the 90% weapons-grade threshold. Experts note this remaining material would be enough to produce roughly 10 to 12 nuclear warheads.

We did not make the region safer. In his post on May 23^rd, 2026, Trump named Saudi Arabia, UAE, Dubai, Qatar & Pakistan as allies who are helping broker peace. Every one of these countries is pre dominantly Sunni, whereas Iran is predominantly Shia. The Shia/Sunni divide dates back about 1400 years, to 632CE. You add Israel to the mix & this becomes immensely complicated. Moreover, many of these countries - & others in the region – saw bombs on their streets, for the first time.

We did not increase the economic consequences on the Iranian regime. If anything, they realize that Hormuz is the proverbial tail that wags the dog.  It is also likely that they will get some of their economic sanctions lifted, when Trump takes his false victory lap. The regime is now probably better off financially. than when the war started.

This war has already cost 23 US lives; plus tens of billions in tax payer funds; thousands of civilian lives; millions of family displacements; a loss of all our traditional allies & a loss of our international standing. UN’s FAO estimates that the Hormuz blockade could add another 45 million people to food insecurity & starvation, around the world. Our national average price of gas, on Feb 27, 2026 (the day before this conflict began) was $2.80 per gallon- now $4.50. Our farmers are probably already too late to plant for next season. The price for diesel is about $6.50 a gallon – it was about $3.81 on Feb 27, 2026. Trump calls this the Golden age of America -"the hottest economy in recorded history".

He is under pressure both domestically & internationally, to draw this to a conclusion asap. His machismo bull ##it about bombing them out of existence is not only in contravention of US & international law, but also likely to alienate an otherwise pro American, Iranian civilian population, as well as our allies, in the Gulf.

Trump has no cards to play other than TACO, & then claiming a false victory. Besides, he has already tried 'bombing the hell out of them' & it did not raise the white flag, as he thought they would..

We will take TACO, because the alternatives are much worse. Trump thought this would a quick in & out like Venezuela, & it was not. It is time to fold & get out.
