Canada Should I switch from a Samsung A56 to an iPhone 17 or iPhone 18 Pro?

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy A56 in Canada and I’m thinking about switching to an iPhone.

Would it be worth upgrading from the A56 to an iPhone 17, or should I go for the newer iPhone 18 Pro?

For those who have used both Samsung/Android and iPhone, how big of a difference would I actually notice?

I’m also wondering if switching from Android to iPhone is something I might regret.

If you were in my position, would you keep the A56, get the iPhone 17, or go for the iPhone 18 Pro? Why?

UK Sadly need to replace google pixel 8 pro for decent android but without breaking the bank

UK Based. My google pixel 8 pro has been on its last legs for a while in the charging/battery department and its starting to really bother me. Id like to replace it, but I don't want to go on contract and owe a monthly payment, so the replacement needs to be one that I can afford upfront.

My budget is £200-£300, pushed to £400 if the long term benefits of paying extra outweigh the short term savings.

The things I care about most:

- Decent storage for apps, photos etc.

- A good camera. This is why I got the Google pixel 8 to begin with. I really like taking photos.

- A good screen for watching YouTube.

- Still getting regular updates for security etc.

I want this to be a relevant phone for atleast the next 5 years. I have just settled into a home with a mortgage etc. and trying to live as cheaply as possible while we build up our savings again. If I dont have to worry about phone upgrades, then all I have to do is pay for my sim.

recommend good phones under ₹35K

• Upvotes

I'm planning on buying a new mobile phone within 5 months and I'm pretty confused about which mobile phone to buy that'll last me good for \~5 years.

These are my requirements for the new phone.

Price: Under ₹35,000

Storage: 256GB

RAM: 8GB+

Battery: Good battery life

Charging: Fast charging

Camera: Great overall camera

Video: Very good quality + stabilization

Performance: Smooth, fast, minimal lag/hanging

Editing: Should handle photo/video editing smoothly

Processor: Strong enough for editing + multitasking

Longevity: Reliable for \~5 years

Software: Good long-term updates

Usage: Daily use + occasional editing

OS: Android

I had two phones in mind.

One is Pixel 7a and the other one is One Plus Nord ce5 just cause I liked how they looked like.

But turns out those two phones doesn't go with all of my requirements. Especially Pixel 7a.

Personally, I don't fw Motorola.

So anything else other than that brand would prolly suffice.

like,

Google Pixel

One Plus

Samsung S series

Vivo

Nothing

that is all. if anyone has any idea about phones close to my requirements, do share. it'll be kind of you :)

thank you!

xiaomi 18 pro max vs oppo find 9x ultra (or s26 ultra)

ive been racking my brain between which to get for a while but it just seems that every phone i look at has some perks that the others dont.

i hear the hyper os is just kinda bad but that the color os is great, but the oppo costs a crazy amount. But then the xiaomi has a privacy screen ..

for me the priority is os, performance and battery at the most important and then camera as the least important, and thats exactly why i hesitate to get the oppo since its called the camera that happens to be a phone

ive been on a s20 fe for a good while now so i just want something that will not only last but feels good to use (and the xiaomi having a backscreen is just a big pro to me).

Switching/Upgrading: Google Pixel 10 vs. iPhone 16 for a Long-time Android User? (Focus: Media Consumption & Social Media)

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to upgrade my phone soon and I'm currently torn between the Google Pixel 10 and the iPhone 16.

Here is my current usage pattern and setup:

Current OS: Long-time Android user (comfortable with the ecosystem, customization, and file management).

Primary Use Cases: Heavy media consumption (watching movies/shows), social media browsing/scrolling, and general daily tasks.

Key Priorities: A great display for video playback, reliable battery life, solid social media camera/app optimization, and overall smooth long-term performance.

I know both phones are flagship options, but I have a few specific questions for those who have used either (or switched between Android and iOS recently):

Social Media & In-App Camera Performance: iPhone has traditionally been the king of social media app integration (Snapchat, Instagram quality, video upload processing). Does Pixel 10 close that gap significantly with its camera/DSP processing, or is iPhone 16 still the safer choice for social media heavy users?

Media Consumption: How do the displays, speakers, and aspect ratios compare when watching videos/movies on Netflix, YouTube, etc.?

Ecosystem Shift: As a long-term Android user, how smooth/frustrating is the transition to iOS on the base iPhone 16 compared to staying on clean Android with the Pixel 10?

Used Redmi Note 14 vs new phone under 20k? Need advice for smoothness and performance

First time posting on Reddit, so bear with me if I mess up the format. :)

I'm in Chittagong and looking for a phone under 20k. Main priority is smoothness and perfomance

Will a used Chinese Redmi Note 14 be noticeably smoother than a new 20k phone?

How do I check battery health and ROM? What's an easy way to tell if it's a Global ROM or a Chinese ROM?

For 18-20k, are there other better options instead of a used Note 14
