Canada Pick an android for my elderly dad

My dad currently has an LG 30 which he loves but he's looking to get a new one since it's old. Some things he's looking for

  • Somewhat similar interface to LG 30
  • Low budget (he's retired with low income, I'm not sure what a normal budget would be but the cheaper the better)
  • Easy to use (he's not the best with technology)
  • Good battery life if possible. However a cheaper phone is priority over this
  • Good connection
  • Available in Canada

I like the TCL Nxtpaper phones for seniors who aren't great with technology. They have a switch that can turn the device into a simplified E-reader like interface. It is pretty low spec with only 4 gigs of ram for $300, so they need to see value in the E-paper like screen option. If that doesn't work Motorola is one of the better budget phone makers, and Nothing has some great phones for $400 but they don't work with every carrier in Canada.

Depends if he's using it to browse the internet or read on it. To give me a better idea

He's mainly using YouTube and Autotrader. The AutoTrader app not working properly is actually the main reason he wants to switch 😅

google fi store has moto g stylus 2025 unlocked for $99 is you stick with it on google fi for at least 120 days. goog specs, and interface is pretty vanilla android. glance and feed crapware are annoying but can be disabled.
