UK Pixel 8 Pro upgrade

Hi!

Currently a little stuck with what I want to upgrade to, currently have the Pixel 8 Pro and after seeing the Pixel 11 being very subpar I don't know what to upgrade to.

Current phone is great but it's getting quite laggy and the battery has really degraded so barely holds a charge.

Was looking at the Oppo Find x9 pro but I'm not that fussed with a decent camera and that seems to be the main focus of that phone.

Basically just want something that has good processing power, good battery! Also no budget and based in the UK.

If you're okay with used phone you check out honor magic 7 pro and honor magic 8 pro

I moved from the Pixel 8 Pro to the Xiaomi 17. I love the size but coming from the 8 pro, almost all other phones have a worse camera :(
Check DXOMARK I would say.

Oppo or Vivo pretty much dominate the field

I've tried Oppo, Xiaomi and Motorola phones. I still prefer the colour processing of my Pixel 8. That's more important to me than a slight improvement in quality.

If you love the Pixel UI then don't switch to a Chinese Brand because they all look like IOS. I have Oppo find x8 pro and pixel 8 pro. I love the Pixel UI but the the Hardware is very limited. The Oppo has superb Hardware but I hate IOS and liquid glass

Yeah, I've tried ColorOS, HyperOS and OneUI. I can't tolerate them after using Pixels and Motorolas.

If I wasn't in the US, I'd get Poco X8 Pro max. excellent processor, dimensity 9500. 8,500 mAh battery. Might be exactly what you're looking for.

P11 Pro would be a decent upgrade from P8 Pro. People are mostly miffed that it's not much of an upgrade from the P10 Pro, but it's not a bad phone. Just pricey (unless you get a discount) and not that exciting of a release.

You could also consider a battery replacement on your P8 Pro and maybe do a hard reset to restore snappiness.

Just went from Pixel 8 Pro (which died and is irreparable due to some random security chup failure) to a Oneplus 15 at first which I really liked for its performance and battery life but really didn't like the camera. Then I returned that and got a used Oppo Find X9 Pro instead and I'm absolutely amazed by the phone. It's way better than the P8P in every way, has an INCREDIBLE camera comparable to my mirrorless cam, amazing battery life, and endless android customization. I also like how it has a dedicated camera button, and an extra action button (which I use for flashlight). You can also make double pressing power lead to opening the camera as well. Only thing I miss was the Pixel only call screening, but that's fine. And the buttons are slightly higher than I normally prefer on the side of the phone (and the camera button is lower than I prefer), but it's not a huge gripe.

If you still love your pixel 8bpro, why not just replace the battery. Get another yr out of the phone or longer. That's what I plan considering the pixel 11 series a isn't a major upgrade

A genuine question - how do you know it's subpar? There haven't been any reviews published, presumably because there's an embargo until 20th August. We've only seen unboxing videos.

The new chip and especially the new MediaTek modem could make a huge difference to battery life. Yeah, I know we thought that with the first TSMC Tensor, but I think the Exynos modem has always been an issue. If the reviews reveal it's more of the same, then I totally get where you're coming from.

Hey, maybe wait until there are some legitimate reviews of the 11s? I also have an 8 pro and just upgraded to the 11 xl, I think for the final price it's a good enough upgrade for what I need but options seem pretty mixed at the moment.
