India Worried About OnePlus Future Due to Rumors

I recently switched from iPhone to Android, specifically the OnePlus 13. Using the OnePlus 13 feels really good overall, but I haven't been able to enjoy it fully for many days now because I'm under a lot of psychological pressure. There are constant rumors and negative talks popping up one after another.

It all started with this YouTuber named GemKBH, who bashes OnePlus almost every day and says bad things about the brand. The funny part is, his own daily driver is still a OnePlus phone. How hilarious is that?

Now the big question is, what will actually happen to OnePlus in the future? A lot of people are saying the brand is going downhill or shutting down operations in many places. Why doesn't OnePlus release a clear official statement about all this? OnePlus India did say earlier that everything is fine, but that was a long time ago. Meanwhile, there are reports of OnePlus employees resigning and joining other companies, or the brand shifting focus back to China. Many OnePlus employees are apparently looking for jobs elsewhere right now, so I'm really confused about what's going on.

Is there any authentic source or reliable information about the future of OnePlus? Will they continue operating globally and keep supporting their fan base? I heard that the OnePlus 16 might be coming around October or November. But with all these rumors, will it even get released properly? For those of us using the OnePlus 13 to 15, will we still get software updates in the future?

It seems like we just have to wait patiently for some official statement, but what will happen next? What about long-term updates and support? If something goes wrong, we might need to visit service centers, but the uncertainty is killing me. What's the actual future of OnePlus?

If the brand becomes China-only, then there's no real point in buying these phones anymore, because Chinese phones often come with various restrictions and hassles. I was thinking of upgrading from the OnePlus 13 to the 15 soon, but now I'm not sure what to do. I just want unbiased, correct information from authentic sources about what will happen to OnePlus going forward. If anyone has reliable details, please share. Thanks.

From now on I'd just suggest to get Oppo flagships if you want a similar experience but with better cameras. Oppo isn't going anywhere so I think they're a good investment to take.

Okay, what you're saying is logical. But I don't like Oppo at all. From the very first day. I will never shift to it.

I don't know if you are joking...

One Plus were actually made by Oppo since 2021

"OnePlus is officially a sub brand of Oppo through a major integration that happened in 2021. OnePlus and Oppo merged their hardware research and development (R&D) teams. OnePlus then announced it would "further integrate" with Oppo, with CEO Pete Lau stating it would operate as an independent entity but function as a brand within Oppo, sharing resources for better products and faster updates. The companies also merged their operating systems, OxygenOS and ColorOS, onto a shared codebase, maintaining separate user experiences globally but streamlining development."

Woah 😳 That's Cool actually. I don't really know that much. Okay all right by the way should I upgrade from 13 to 15 what do you think?

15 doesn't have a better camera than 13.

You should wait for One Plus 16.

Even if you'll have to buy it from China, I wouldn't worry about service because you could repair it in any Oppo service shop.

It's just funny you say this. You don't like a brand (Oppo) but you like its sub-brand (OnePlus is operating today thanks to Oppo which funds it). Hell even OxygenOS (the one I bet you rave about everyday) is heavily inspired from ColorOS.

The last OnePlus I've ever owned was the 6T, I'm never going back to that brand given all the obstacles it's gone through and the fact they effectively "settled" with the overpriced flagships after a few years. Oppo flagships at least give you a complete package despite the slightly bigger price you pay vs OnePlus.

Just make sure OnePlus will stay in global market 🙂

Well yeah but again, you don't really need to stay with OnePlus. Oppo does everything better except the "speed" of the OS. ColorOS is still super smooth though.

You should reconsider your judgment on Oppo, they're much better than what people think

Can you suggest me a model over the OnePlus 15

2

Yes, the Oppo Find X9 is the closest when it comes to the price and features, and it's still got a better camera.

The X9 Pro if you want to pay more but you'll have a magnificent package. Probably the most complete outside of the Ultra Vivo/Oppo models.

Mainly I want a compact phone I don't click too much. I don't gaming too much. Actually I need a clean software like oxygen OS and snappier too. I love balanced phone actually.

The X9 is actually perfect for you because it's sized at 6.5". Brands rarely make any compact phones nowadays so it'll be a challenge for you to find something smaller than 6.2"

All right I mean not that size. Overall good camera good performance and most important good software. Just snappier and fast and smooth software experience that all I need. By the way I don't like Mediatek. From day one I'm using Snapdragon. I'm pretty loyal to that.x9/ pro got Mediatek Dimensity 9500. Nahhhhhhhhhhhh

Don't get oppo, I bought the oppo x9 pro returned the same day. Felt way too similar to the iphone 15 pro max but the off brand version. Suggest you go in store and test them out yourself.

Oneplus is Oppo same company

3

u/ico_OO Apr 26 '26

You talk like you invested in the company 😅. It's just a phone man, if you're worried about updates, the phone will be definitely updated, because the main company, bbk is still here.

1

u/nazz619 Apr 26 '26

Oh yeah thank you dude.

3

u/ico_OO Apr 26 '26

And also there are rumors about one plus 16.

1

u/nazz619 Apr 26 '26

Yeah I know but they will launch globally or not?

2

u/ico_OO Apr 26 '26

This is the question, nobody knows 😅

2

u/nazz619 Apr 26 '26

I know only you know 🫪🫪🫪

Why worry about something you don't have any control of, that makes no sense to me.

1

u/nazz619 Apr 26 '26

Okay I'm right

Nothing will happen Stop overthinking

They won't exit from underdeveloped countries

You have a point. So, will the new flagship phones that come out have global ROM?.

2

i think the big issue here is your "coming from iphone" perspective. You're getting too unhealthily concerned over this. You don't need to spend your time worrying about a specific company.

Android is an OS used by lots of companies, it's not like ios that depends on only one. If Apple fails tomorrow all ios users are screwed. If oneplus fails tomorrow it wouldn't affect you at all. App developers still make and update apps for android.

Your only concern would be long term security updates. The day you want to switch phone to a newer one, you'll pick whatever next phone best fits your needs, and easily transfer all your android data and apps to your new phone. There's no reason to stick with one specific company, and definitely no reason to stress over it.

I already bought a OnePlus 15R knowing about this rumor... I'm in EU and Despite these rumors, brands are legally obligated to provide updates and support until they are no longer required to provide it.

Maybe that's why I bought the OnePlus 15R plus the OnePlus watch 3 43mm with a very good price 😅😅

2

u/nazz619 May 25 '26

You're gentle

2

u/cooldude9112001 Apr 26 '26

Its only ceasing operations in the USA UK AND EU they are still staing in China. Nothings gonna happen the Oneplus phones out their.

3

u/nazz619 Apr 26 '26

So will the new phones that will come with global ROM?

2

u/cooldude9112001 Apr 27 '26 edited Apr 27 '26

Alot of chinese phones do come with global roms. Even if they don't the china roms on all the chinese phones I've used have worked fine.

Wear os seems to be the only thing broken still

My honor v5 and v6 xiaomi 17 ultra and mi 12 ultra are all chinese roms.

Psychological pressure? Really? It's not that serious my friend.

Hahaha I made some mistakes in my wording, it's true, but I'm really under pressure, bro. I will never buy an oppo in my life, I will never buy one. And will they update us lol
