Question Would you guys be concerned if your Pc is under a mini split
Unfortunately there is not much I can do and I don’t really have any other options to move it. It also can’t go on the floor because I have a 1 year old that may knock it down. Normally I wouldn’t be concerned but I know mini splits/ACs can cause water leakage over time if something is wrong. Not sure if I’m overthinking it but is anyone else in the same situation where there pc has to be there. Is there anything I should do for precaution?

News/Article RAM Supply Set to Worsen, Says Micron, as CEO Celebrates ‘Much Higher’ Prices.
theregister.comMemory-maker Micron has warned that RAM shortages will persist into 2028, and perhaps beyond.
Speaking on the company’s FY 2026 earnings call, CEO and company chair Sanjay Mehrotra reminded investors that Micron has already sold most of the memory it will make next year and said customers will pay “much higher prices” than they shelled out this year.
“In calendar 2027 as well as 2028, we see demand exceeding supply,” he added. “In fact, we see greater tightness in the industry in 2027 and in 2028 versus 2026. Overall, supply-demand environment is only getting tighter.”
“We do not have line of sight to when supply and demand will return to balance.”

Screenshot A RX 9070 XT is about five dollars cheaper than a RTX 5060 TI 16GB. This is outrageous. Do not buy Nvidia unless you absolutely need to.

Discussion Anyone still rocking old Logitech gaming keyboards?
I looked in my local pc shop yesterday and was impressed by the sheer number of different gaming keyboards on the market. Most are these bare mini units.
I'm still using my 15 year old land barge G510. Back when it was either Logitech or Microsoft..
Everything still just works perfectly.

Discussion The first Cheese LAN was a success!
Held in July in Green Bay, WI with 28 attendees. We consumed 16 liters of Sun Drop slushy over the course of the event, while playing a mix of old/new titles. There was a Rocket League tournament, as well as Cheese Rolling competition, and a mystery game (Sewer Rave), which all had prizes. Throughout the evening, we did surprise giveaways called Cheese Time, where the admins threw various types of packaged cheese around the room. We also gave out free energy drinks at night to keep everyone juiced. The AC was set to a comfortable 70F and I'm pleased to say, no one was stinky.
This was the first "big" LAN in the area in over 12 years. This area used to host 100+ person LAN's (KI LAN & GBLAN) with cash tournaments that people flew in for. This event is the continuation of that group, and some of the original admins were in attendance. We put a lot into this, including buying a full 2.5G network, a power breakout panel, and characters/mascots designed by an artist out of Toronto. Seeing Steam downloads ripping locally over 1.6GB/s was novel. Special shout out to the supporters who helped finance the equipment!
We're definitely hosting another event in July of 2027 and possibly one this winter. CheeseLAN.com and join the discord if you're interested :-D

Nostalgia Found a 2012 build in a Corsair c70 for only $60 on FB Marketplace!
100% here to brag. Probably gonna sell the internals (X99 Sabertooth and an FX-8350 plus RAM) and use the case, but probably not for my main build because I like the Fractal North so much. Might move my NAS into this for the excess drive bays.

Meme/Macro Is this a good desktop for my first homelab
Hi guys, I saw this PC in my local thrift store. Is this a good config for about $56? I don't want to buy a bad CPU for my first homelab but I'm on a budget. My tech friend told me that the i4 was the perfect balance between the i3 and i5, so I was pretty excited to see an i4 listed on the tag.

Tech Support Cleaning my 4090. Will definitely regret this.
POSSIBLE NSFMR
My pc has been randomly shutting down for the past few months. I’ll play something intensive with raytracing or something and after a few minutes, my monitor will go black and my pc fans will stop spinning, although audio will still play and my rgb will remain on. Now after awhile of this happening, I’ve decided that something must be done. I have always avoided the possibility of deep cleaning my pc but I can procrastinate on this no longer.
The time has come to be brave.
Now I feel the culprit (or culprits) narrow down to 3 parts. My GPU, CPU, or PSU. I have a 7950x for my CPU, MSI 4090 liquid Suprim for my GPU, and Corsair AX1600i power supply.
Let it be known that I have not NEVER done this before. Right now I have finally taken apart my gpu and good god. It feels like I’ve walked into a hoarder house. This poor card has become SO dusty. And it was from my own doing. For the past 4 years I’ve NEVER bothered to clean this thing.
I am currently about to run to the store to get isopropyl alcohol and an air duster to get all of this grime and dust swabbed and blown away. Tomorrow the thermal paste I’ve ordered will arrive and I’ll be able to repaste the gpu and cpu no problem. If my pc randomly turns off again then I’ll try replacing my psu with a corsair hx1500i.
Won’t deny that the idea of any of my pc parts possibly being near the end of life is immensely harrowing to me. I definitely don’t have the means of replacing my gpu anymore but I have to to try something to contend with fate.
I will not yield without struggle.
Witness my folly and learn from my idiocies and go clean your pc parts every now and then, you bum
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
