r/Iran stands with Iranians in defending our country’s national sovereignty
Dear readers,
We hope that you are safe and well. Some of you have asked us about the protests, and we’d like to share the following statement with you.
Peaceful protests by Iranians expressing legitimate grievances have once again been hijacked. Violent riots are being encouraged and enabled by foreign-backed actors immune to their consequences. They threaten the safety and security of every Iranian and cause costly damage to public infrastructure and an economy already suffering from crushing sanctions.
The genocidal Israeli regime killed 1,200 Iranian civilians in June. Those who stood silent and even cheered on these killings now claim to act in defense of Iranians as they call for even more attacks on Iran.
Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Lebanon, Iraq, and scores of other countries, most recently Venezuela, attest to the consistent outcome of foreign interference: chaos, instability, destruction, and immeasurable suffering.
Foreign-backed riots in 1953 changed the course of our nation’s trajectory. Let’s not be doomed by repeating tragic history.
No one can trick us into welcoming attacks on Iran.
Long live Iran, Iranians, and Iranian sovereignty!

The fighter jet & helicopter squadrons of USS Abraham Lincoln return back to NAS Leemore, California, smiling and hugging after the thousands of Iranians they've killed on behalf of their slave, Israel.
It is important to note that the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) aircraft carrier itself has not yet arrived, only the helicopter and fighter jet squadrons have returned. USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) itself is scheduled to return next Thursday, 8th October 2026, at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, California, according to CBS 8.

US Navy sinking of the IRN Dena exposes many truths
For those still expecting or believing that the US has any interest in Iranian human rights, be it over hijab, free speech or protesting, I offer this incident as a counterpoint on the sinking of the Dena.
- The attack technically is legal under international law because international law is worthless and NOT set up to protect Iran, its set up to protect the US and the powerful ONLY
- The Iranian Navy is not part of the IRGC
- The Dena's captain radioed to the USS Charlotte that they were unarmed and there for training with India. Sri Lanka confirmed that to the US Navy as a independent 3rd party.
- The US never bothered to declare war per usual, they just gave orders and murdered anyone not complying as they typically do
- India hosted the event but per usual, barely complained to the US or Israel. Sri Lanka, a tiny Island by comparison condemned the US more than India did, a nuclear armed super power.
- The US made 0 effort to rescue survivors, mostly teenage band players floating in the water
- The US Navy awarded the entire crew of the USS Charlotte a unit citation for outstanding "heroism" for mass murdering the Dena's crew, similar to what they did for the USS Vincennes, who shot down Iran Air 655 killing 298 civilians. They actually promoted the Captain of that latter ship.

Any nation or group of people that does something like the above could not possibly care about your human rights.

BBC Persian Double Standard: French protestors called "rioters" while Iranian rioters are called "protestors"
Credits: @iranictv Telegram channel.
When it comes to France, the BBC uses the word "rioters" for protesting students; But when the same media reaches Iran, it narrates the destruction of public property and violent actions under the title "protest"! Apparently, in the dictionary of this network, the meaning of chaos and protest also depends on the geography of the story.

Curious about Historical Measurements 📏
Hello all.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the pre-metric measurements in Iran, and if anyone has, knows anyone, or can show me some good pictures of old fashioned rulers or other measuring tools?
I've got a particular fixation with the history of daily life around the world so.

Iran kicks US completely out of Iraq
"The U.S. military has withdrawn its forces from Iraq, 23 years after it invaded the country, sparking an insurgency and civil war and opening the door to Iranian influence in Iraq that it is still trying to combat."

Which english edition of the Shahnameh is the best?
Hi everyone 🤗 I'm from Poland and trying to do some research on Persian culture. I want a copy of the Shahnameh, unfortunately a Polish translation of it doesn't exist, so I'm looking for an English one. Which one is generally considered the most faithful?

Help with Iranian language map, c.1815
Hi Iranians,
I'm working on a map of spoken languages around the world in the year 1815. This would be a sequel to an earlier map that focused on only Europe, which you can find posted as Spoken Varieties in Europe, c.1815
I'm having a lot of trouble with Iran, because it seems non-Iranian sources are very far behind when it comes to Iranian linguistics, and so I want to learn a little bit about how Iranians understand languages and dialects in their own country today, and if they might have any insight into the situation 200 years ago.
I'm looking forward to hearing any opinions and discussions in the comments, thanks for your help
Jeremy Scahill EXPOSES SHOCKING Depravity In U.S. Iran School Bombing
Please share widely. It's been upsetting to see how even though Americans are supposedly majority against the war, nobody seems to care about Iranians. It's all gas prices and whatnot. Jeremy Scahill did a great job with this, it needs to be seen.

When will the classes at TUMS commence?
Okay, so I know this might sound like a stupid question, but I’ve started feeling so anxious now that October has begun, especially since I'm an international student.
I applied and got into TUMS’ September intake. However, there’s no notice about when classes will actually begin for the medicine program.
I’m just wondering if someone here might know some details, or if there’s another student like me who’s been lurking on these subreddits and might know something.

The IRGC has published a 26-page "Letter to the American people."
https://img9.irna.ir/d/r2/2026/09/29/0/173138753.pdf?ts=1790679102019
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) published a 26-page open letter addressed to the American public in late September 2026, as reported by outlets like the Tehran Times and noted on platforms like Drop Site News.
Key Details of the Letter
- Core Message: According to analysts and reports covering the release, the document urges American citizens to break with U.S. foreign policy, reconsider government narratives surrounding conflict in West Asia, and "take back control" of their government.
- Claims and Arguments: The text features a lengthy rundown of historic and current grievances against U.S. policy, denunciations of American imperialism, and assertions declaring Iranian victory in the recent regional conflict.
- On "Death to America": The letter offers another frame to the common political chant, asserting that the phrase is a critique of the U.S. ruling elite and White House policies rather than animosity toward ordinary American citizens.
- Target Audience: Observers note the text specifically targets students, scholars, and media figures in an effort to influence public opinion and discourse within the United States.

This is the same person who managed to identify the F-15E Strike Eagle WSO's real identity through their OSINT work. Which the 60 Minutes interview used a pseudonym to hide their real name, but was uncovered anyway.

Ahmet Kamil Erozan, a former member of Turkish parliament: Israeli Air Force pilots trained in Konya in Turkiye for an attack against Iran

Israeli pilots trained in Konya for an attack on Iran:
Ahmet Kamil Erozan, a former member of Turkish parliament and former ambassador, said during a television program that the Zionist regime in occupied Palestine does not have a suitable location to practice air attacks in terrain similar to Iran and that Israeli army pilots had practiced attack tactics against Iran in Konya, Turkey.
