Another one: STOLEN Aventon Aventure 2 EBIKE

My 6 mo old silver/grey EBIKE was stolen from an apartment complex early Friday morning 6/12. Airtagged with fresh battery and not reading (probably got destroyed). I was dead asleep. SEE PHOTO: Had a milk crate and an orange sticker on the rear fender (probably been removed). This is my sole transport right now, waiting for disability for post-cancer surgeries and this thing gets me to doctors offices and related gov't help right now. Keep your eyes peeled. Call police/ Detective McGinnis if identified -- CASE# 26095340 SERIAL# AE4F5681 THANKS

Hate to be that guy, but y'all need to keep your e-bikes inside your dwelling. I hope you get it back.

Yeah, this isn't 2006 Denton anymore. We have actual crime now, not just college kids smoking weed.

Thanks. I get it. Putting it inside isn't an option for me. It was GPS'd. I have 6 ft tall fenced yard to myself and I'm building a bike shed after this nonsense.

I'll keep an eye out. As a fellow (albeit manual) cyclist, I really dislike bike thieves. Never had one of mine stolen, but I realize it's only a matter of time, since locks and other security measures are really nothing more than a deterrent. I realize they could take your bike just about anywhere, but whereabouts was it taken from. No need to get specific if you don't want to.

If you have outdoor power outlets, I might suggest a basic security camera as well. Wyze cameras have been pretty good for us, and they are only around $35 each or $50 for a renewed 2-pack. There's some outdoor/indoor specific models as well for a little extra, though a friend of mine has the indoor v2 basic camera mounted on his back patio under cover. You can add a SD card for local recording, or if you want to pay for cloud storage (useful if you're worried the camera could also be stolen), it's about $3/month. Might be helpful for catching whoever attempts to steal things in the future.

Yeah. There's a really sad, distressing classic film about a bicycle thief. I know why the bike got stolen by homeless people. We aren't taking care of people very well. I've wanted a rio camera system(I have hard drives) but just haven't been able to afford it yet. Stolen near Malone at Scripture near Howdy Doody/ Chopsticks. I received a very hot lead but have to go see if my phone pings the bike. Waiting for someone to go with

I will never understand why you'd spend a couple grand on a bike and leave it anywhere at all unsecured. I'd be carrying a fat ass chain with a very large abus lock and storing it inside whenever physically possible, including at your job if they'd allow it. I parked my motorcycle on the sidewalk for years at the gas station I worked at for this very reason. Directly in line of a camera and directly under lighting.
