It’s crazy where a ball can take you and how it can change your life. The path was difficult and there were times for sure I had doubts. I always had faith and believed.
You got to keep fighting and stay true to your work. For anyone watching this, just know whatever you want to accomplish you can do it.
Never give up! Still got a long way to go!
Looking forward to having y’all on my journey.
Welcome to chapter 5 🫎

The Hornets could have easily got the Grizzlies to trade up to 17th or 16th for a few 2nds to to get Okorie.

Yet they actively chose CA over Okorie.

Philon dropped in the ladder, yet they still actively chose CA over Philon.

Philon dropped because of his weight and skinniness but CA is even shorter and though somewhat heavier than Philon but with worse explosiveness, strength finishing, advantage creation and driving ability in exchange for slightly better theoretical 3 point shooting and higher strength which wouldn't matter in the grand scheme of things(CA will never be as strong as Davion Mitchell or Jalen Brunson).

Both Okorie and Philon played and shot much better in SL though CA was disadvantaged by the insistence to try to run Sion James at PG.

If the hornets FO whiffed on choosing the right non lottery pick point guard, how much will you be upset in the context of melo getting traded?

After seeing the Charlotte Hornets Brandon Miller appreciation post, I just realized I never truly paid attention to the three fingers on the face celly and its just Jalen Brunons Celly... This whole time it though it was a Dick Hallorann celly like that one seen from IT: Welcome To Derry.

Not sure if anyone does this already but im petitioning that he really should modify it to what I thought it was because thats ways better. Like come on hitting a three over somebody and then putting the three finger mask on because your in their head.

I miss basketball season

Holy moly

Hey r/CharlotteHornets The Hornets are officially here! 👋

We’ll be interacting with your posts by leaving upvotes and replying in the comments, while also sharing content of our own here on the subreddit.

We’re excited to have another way to connect directly with you guys and we're looking forward to being a part of the community throughout the season!

The szn is around the corner ladies and Gents ! Who do you expect to take some leaps and what’s your prediction for where we’ll be at the end of the season ?

I’ll go first:

- I got Liam playing some real rotational minutes.

-Naz Reid gonna have either the best szn of his career or one of the best

- play-in/First round of the playoffs team

- Kon keeping the same momentum from last szn

-Brandon Miller being our leading scorer and Coby either 2nd or 3rd.

- The big man rotation I wouldn’t be surprised if the line up goes Naz/Moussa w/ Ryan n Hannes coming off the bench. Side note i like this situation and may the best 2 come out on top

-Hannes Averaging 10ppg

-Grayson Allen being a key factor to our shooting success.

Anyone here have any recommendations on books about the Hornets? History, coffee table photo books, anything like that.

I’d love to have some Hornets books on the shelf but I’m unaware of any that stand out. Thanks!

Wrote this article on the 5 biggest questions for the hornets in the early season, lmk what you all think.

hey ya'll! I was wondering if someone could explain to me how to best watch (hopefully all of the) games this season. I used fan duel last season. I live in Canton, about half an hour west of Asheville. I saw something about a regional broadcast, but I don't have a tv (just a projector) and I don't really get how that would work. Any help would be appreciated.

Buzz buzz!!

One of his brothers said that Kon also went to Phoenix to have a workout with Devin Booker. 👀

I’m thinking yes

When the [name] came back in 2014, the first thing I did was buy season tickets. I had personally spent the prior 4 years (w/ bringbackthebuzz) helping in every way to convince people that we needed the name back and it was finally here.

I had a neat idea that we could really build our fan/stadium identity, but we just needed something no one else had.

Enter, the simple Kazoo.

I bought a box of them and handed them out to my section, for that one game you could hear the BUZZING from the stands while the other team was taking free throws... and any time something awesome happened. I think that was the night Lance banked a game-winning three...

I brought my kazoo back for the rest of the season. It was fun, and it felt appropriate.

Why the Kazoo? They are cheap. They aren't banned from arenas, it's just a small piece of plastic.

• During free throws, the entire stadium could raise the buzz.

• You can actually play along to the songs being played in the arena.

• Anyone can play a kazoo, you just hum into it.

...

So I am proposing this year you get yourself a kazoo, or a box of them and give them out to everyone you see... and teach them how to really BUZZ BUZZ.

GET THE HIVE ALIVE!

Edit: After the positive response, I went ahead and built a website to help get the idea out :) https://raisethebuzz.com . . . LETS GOOOOOO CHARLOTTE!

"After roughly 13 minutes, White ended his press conference by saying, “Appreciate y’all. Y’all have a good one. Shout out Rod Boone, man.”

The Hornets posted White’s press conference to YouTube, but the official video strangely cuts off right before White mentions Boone. It’s unclear why the Hornets would do that, but it’s noteworthy nonetheless."

"I was talking to one of our coaches the other day, just looking at the talent on the roster and the ability to shoot the ball, I think we have a great chance to surprise a lot of people. We did lose two important players in LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges, guys who are gonna make huge impacts on the teams they're about to play on. But replacing them with the players and the character of the guys we have coming in, I think the guys already here are gonna take a huge step: Kon Knueppel, Brandon Miller, Coby White even, from what you saw in a bench role last year and as a starter in Chicago. On top of that, I think the group is gonna really get along. That synergy is gonna bring a lot of competitive joy out."

Think about it, the GM's we've had in the past would make trades here and there but in this off-season alone we've had trade partners/deals with Atlanta, Washington, Minnesota, Phoenix, Cleveland, Houston and now Chicago. Not to mention other moves made during this last seaosn and the off-season prior.

Its clear that compared to previous management/ownership Jeff has made it a point to establish himself and us as a team that is clearly willing to do business but is also willing to take on other teams contracts but not in a way that screws us over like with Cho and others before him.

Now our guy has a great relationship and reputation with other GM's AND also is not seen as a pushover which I cant honestly remember the last time we had someone who was able to be both of those at once.

So much for starting the year right. This ontop of Miller most likely not being ready yet equals disaster

Saw this on the HornetsReddit twitter page and just wanted to share here! The most intriguing part: “One bit of good news: A league source said Kon Knueppel’s injury does not appear so serious as to impact a large swath of his season.”

Sounds potentially encouraging? The article also mentioned the injuries happened earlier this month, and Kon was just on a livestream last night, standing and walking for about an hour with no limp or crutches. Hopefully means we dodged a bullet here.

Less information was given about Grant, but I'm praying for good news for him, too!
