Solved Thought this subreddit is about people who like BMW, not haters and people stuck in the past, with your “tHis iS pEAk bmW dEsiGn”

is this subreddit not moderated? It’s like every day full of s*it post about how you guys don’t like new class.

I drive those cars daily and drove them before you even know about them and they are blowing my mind every day and Im smiling behind the wheel how good they are to drive fast.

I don’t like some parts of interior (3-series window controls are way too flat and off, some icons and info are on the wrong place on the CID) hope they will fix it with LCi. But on the other hand that steering wheel is ergonomically really good and new touch CID is much better than the old one. Panorama Display is so good, BMW should ditch Head-Up display and save a lot of money because Im turning that off immediately. no need for HUD because you have everything right there in panorama. Just wait for sale numbers..

Should I buy now ?

I was seriously thinking about buying a 2023 BMW i440, but with the new designs being presented for the next generations, I am afraid they will do the same for this model and my car will feel obsolete almost instantly. I would like your input on whether it is worth it to buy it or not (P.S. I really do not like the new designs).

M-ish Enough of the poor steering feel.

Recently picked up a m240 a big fan of the b58 engine. Whilst the engine is the star, am struggling with the steering. Whilst it may point you in the correct direction, the lack of texture and feedback is just poor. It's almost like you are expected to be ok with its absence, just feels artificial. Getting into a cheaper GR Yaris was a bit of a wake up call, blows the BMW out of the water, actual feedback from the steering, suspension and brakes completely different level of feedback, probably the best I've felt on any modern car - interaction and feedback makes a car fun, not just pure speed - why can't BMW do more work in this area? It makes so much difference to the experience when you want to drive, rather than commute.

Afraid to buy X7

I am in the market for a 3 row luxury SUV and have decided on an X7, or so I thought. Doing some more research, I’m hearing about the inevitable front and rear differential issues, AC not working, transfer case failure. I understand preventative maintenance can help with some of these issues and I don’t mind spending money to fix these. But I hear the AC issue is not fixable and they BMW’s official response is that it’s working as intended. So I cannot even pay to fix this. I am just so paranoid about getting this car at this point. In case it matters, I would buy new and drive it 5-7k miles per year and hope to own it 10+ years. Any owners can chime in? Is this overblown?

Do you wish they had just copied the front end?

I think the new 3 Series exterior looks fine overall. It’s really just the front end that I don’t understand.

Literally just follow the same design language from the last generation while still making it look modern. Separate the grille and headlights, give the kidney grille a more squared or whatever shape, and build the headlights out to the sides of it. You could even keep the “snake fang” design within the headlights.

The grille and headlights all blend together so much that the front looks busy.

Proof that spec matters with the Neue Klasse 3 Series

I think something that's really hampering the Neue Klasse 3 Series are the color and wheel options.

Out of the 11 color options, 8 of them are monochrome (silver, white, gray, black), then there are two blues and a red.

To make it worse, there are 8 different wheel options, but all of them are black.

I present to you my take on proper looking specs for the new 3. AI of course (but tried to keep it from hallucinating as much as possible)

Also, Neue Klasse 3 looks a LOT like M2 from some angles, where is the M2 crowd now?

///M owners -- cringe or cool? Blipping the throttle when passing by a fellow ///M enthusiast

I was driving down a main road today when I passed a fellow M4 Comp who was at a red light turning left. When I passed them I acknowledged them with a quick blip rev (clutch in, blip, clutch out). Was meant to be a "Hello fellow enthusiast" but now that I think about it, it could've been cringe. What does this sub think?

Repair Help DIY oil change on my G31 520d (B47) - is it 5.0L or 5.5L? iDrive showing near MIN after 5.25L

Hey guys, just finished doing an oil and filter change on my 2018(late) 520d Touring (B47 engine).

I ran into conflicting specs online before starting—some sources say 5.0L while others say 5.5L for a service fill with filter.

I played it safe and poured in 5.25L, drove it until fully warm (90°C), and ran the manual iDrive oil measurement on flat ground. The measurement completed, but the green bar came back sitting at only about 25–30% above MIN.

Has anyone else noticed this on the longitudinal B47?

Since the scale between MIN and MAX is exactly 1.0L, sitting at 25% above MIN means there is only around 4.8L–4.9L in the pan after the dry filter element and housing soaked up their share. If 5.0L was the MAX capacity, 5.25L should have overfilled it.

Looks like 5.5L is the actual fill to hit MAX on these G30/G31s. How much do you guys usually pour in during a service to hit the middle or top of the gauge?

new i3 panorama roof: any interior sliding cover?

I have come to terms with the parallelogram UI, but I'm wondering if the panorama roof has any automated sliding cover kind of mechanism for it? Even if heavily tinted I'd be worried about heat building up

Saw this BMW for sale on Marktplaats and had to do a double take 😂
It’s an 530D GT BMW… with a fucking G80 nose on it. 💀
Not gonna lie, I don’t even know how to feel about this. Is this considered an upgrade, a downgrade, or a crime against BMW? 😂
What do you guys think?
