Men, what’s one small, seemingly insignificant thing you’ve noticed that can be a telltale sign of the difference between a genuinely good man and a bad one?

He treats everyone with respect and dignity. Kindness is natural, not forced.

Yes, this. I was going to post my own, which would have been: "He allows others to exist as they are."

In other words, for example a religious person who objects to my kinky sex life is or is not a great guy depending on this:

  • If he says, "I'm called to a moral standard of being devoted to my wife in eternal monogamy, but I guess you're not religious so you do you," then I'd say, he's a cool dude with different standards, and that's fine.
  • If he says, "I'm called to a moral standard of being devoted to my wife because marriage is ONLY BETWEEN A MAN AND WOMAN and also PEOPLE MUST BE MONOGAMOUS," and then he goes out of his way to try to enforce that on others, well, to me he is not ethical, even if he thinks he's coming from an ethical place. To me, he's a bully with misguided morals and he's scattershot blasting everyone around him with these notions that none of the rest of us agreed to.
