3 is rather low for visuals that came in on the 2nd Oct.

Edit: Holy the commies are out of the woodworks. Ig Neha Bora got a bit rattled.

I am not an Indian... I don't really understand your comment, are you supporting the women or not? What do you mean by "visuals"?

Who are the commies you are talking about? Who is Neha Bora?

The protest was over some conspiratorial nonsense that the opposition concocted up. So I don't support the protest. However the clashes between the protesters and the police were brutal. People were dragged, punched, thrown and stuffed into buses.

This happens every year or two especially when the communist cohort protests. Neha Bora is their leader. Last year it was air pollution (actually because a separatist was killed).

Not just journalists but several women protesters have claimed that they were groped and molested by the police as well.

Here before indians overruns this and say it's normal... That it's the women's fault... That they are probably paid foreign agents. That this new source is opposition controlled Western funded propaganda

Indian here, it's not normal, hate that it's gotten to a point where its being considered normal.

It's not the women's fault. They aren't paid foreign agents. The news is reporting on what happens in this fuck all of a country run by fuck all of politicians and anyone with an ounce of power are corrupt.

Hate this place.

Indian here. These things happen around the world, media just wants to frame India with this to ruin their reputation.

Unfortunately this is an abundance around the world, including pdf rings around the world, trafficking as well.

Im in an SEA country where my wife who's a doctor had to help with the local authorities gather biological evidence of a man, 37 years old, who had raped an 11 year old.

Indian here. Living in India.
Stop with the whatabout-ism and invalidating not only what these women went through, but also very justified criticism of a country with high numbers of assaults and underreporting.

-13

u/DandeNiro 4h ago

So you haven't lived around the world

-11

u/DandeNiro 3h ago

What is whataboutism?

10

u/quixotic_barbarian 4h ago

Doesn’t mean it did not happen in this instance. This is exactly what I believe OP is talking about when they talk about the comments invalidating the story

-1

u/DandeNiro 4h ago

Never invalidated the story. The message here is India has the worst of them all lol. Humans are humans it happens everywhere

4

u/thushar1234 3h ago

"Humans are humans" that's how this shit gets normalised. India does proportional have it the worst, look at the sheer amount of reported rape. Could that be because of the massive population?? Sure, but given the "economic boom" and the GDP growth, shouldn't basic education helped cerb those numbers?

It happens soo often coz the men that do it know there's no consequences, more often than not they don't get sent to jail or they pay their way out. When the people in power that's meant to protect people do it themselves, what do you think that says abt this country?

Politician that haven't completed basic highschool education are sitting in office and raeking in generational wealth. Most people would no bat an eye on it coz they say that's just how it is.

Nope, stop normalising this shit, stop excusing their actions and hold them accountable.

There are records of men raping infants in this country, you think you'll go to that 11 year old and say "you don't have it worse than those infants?? Quit whining?"

Ah so you have the solution. Expound

u/MyDarkTwistedReditAc 9h ago

Genuinely asking, where on reddit have you seen Indians say that it's 'women's fault'? saying it's normal I get that, in the sense that 'yeah this bullshit is nothing new they do harass'.

u/GarlicBreathVampire 5h ago

Indian woman here, just check out any random Indian sub and 99% indian men are mocking and triviliazing women protesting against rape crisis in india.

•

u/AustinYun 34m ago

Go look at subs for Indians.

I swear this is something way more people should do. Like there's a ton of Hebrew subreddits where you can see what the Israelis say to each other. Very eye opening.

u/Jivaah 9h ago

Nah man . Our media is all bought up. All of it. Narrative control was done since the beginning of the current parties rule. And people blinded by hate , can't see the reality. Or just refuse to it.

-4

u/DandeNiro 5h ago

Was suggesting something like this in another comment, people know about sex trafficking around the world but yet somehow India has it worse

u/MassiveBasil9948 11h ago

For the unaware, ruling Govt party membes have frequently said things supporting women abusers and rapists. Government also appoints rapists to higher positions. All these while there's one rape reported every 15-17 mins in India. Mind you there's no account for unreported rapes.

12

u/filkirt 10h ago

It was the ruling party that literally garlanded and celebrated a rapist from the Gujarat riots, when he was released.

-6

u/TryJolly1473 2h ago

As if ur party didn't say shit like women being raped in normal and not a big deal, women should just lay back and enjoy being raped, women who don't let themselves be raped are weak.

-17

u/farewellrif 6h ago

It's difficult to estimate unreported rapes, but if you look at reported numbers India's victimisation rate is really low. Roughly 4.4 per 100000 population, compare and contrast with England (110 per 100000) and the USA (35 per 100000). The absolute numbers look high because there are SO MANY Indians.

17

u/GarlicBreathVampire 5h ago

Because of our extremely misogynist culture, more than 98% rapes go unreported. The conviction rate is extremely low, marital rape is legal (more than 90% marraiges are arranged and often afainst women's will and nearly 1 in 4 bride is under 18), rape victims are shamed, shunned, , threatened and forced to withdraw their cases and in many cases assaulted and murdered, rapists often easily get bail, even convicted rapists hardly serve any time and start raping the moment they are released, men don't even get punished if the woman dies from rape and otger extremely horrific things.

How sad.

12

u/VayuAir 10h ago

I hate this government

5

u/macross1984 10h ago

I wouldn't be surprised more women victims harassed but remain silent because of fear.

3

u/Diddyslayer45 11h ago

Waiting for Andhabhakts to do damage control. Delhi police should change their name to DALLI POLICE after all they only know bootlicking of the central government rather than serving the public.

1

u/TryJolly1473 2h ago

Lol before bjp won it was the best in the world but now it worse.

2

u/Tuna_fishcat 5h ago

3 women who were trying to do their jobs and then men decided to sexually harrased them... The goverment in India needs to focus on giving equal oppurtunity and law toward women not ignoring it. It's so disgusting

u/bastet_is_back 11h ago

A week or so back Delhi moved some of its classes online in SRCC, one of India's best colleges, as a woman got raped. This is how Delhi police protects girl.students by depriving them of classroom education, and you expect them to behave decently.

3

u/bringbackthesmurfs 9h ago

Small correction - it was LSR, not SRCC
Both of them great colleges, but important to note LSR is a women’s college while SRCC is co-ed.

But the rest of your point holds.

Sexual assaults are quite a reaction to give after instigation! Are you trying to justify that? Because that's very concerning.
