1 No common items allowed, where the price can easily found on Ebay, Craigslist, or FB Marketplace Tell us what you know about the item, where it's from, who made it... tell us the story of the item.

2 Provide several clear photos of all angles. If there's a mark, serial #, or signature include that.

3 You must own the item being posted, or a friend/relative must own the item.

  1. We only allow one-of-a-kind, original, and signed limited edition artwork. If you don't know what a decor painting is look it up. Signed and numbered prints don't count. Generally the artist must be famous enough to have a page on ArtNet, Ebay or WorthPoint. If they don't, then its not a good fit here. Nudity is OK, please flag as NSFW.

5 Ivory is illegal to sell or import in the US as well as most of the EU. While the sale of antique, (100 year or older) ivory is allowed in the US, there are very specific rules about it. This is beyond the scope of this sub and we will not be giving valuations of a potentially illegal item. Please Google Ivory laws for more info.

  1. No paper money or coins. There are better subs than this for paper money and coins

  2. About Prints The practice of making signed and numbered prints of artwork is to make a painting affordable to a wider audience. If an art work was originally done in a different medium but then signed and numbered prints are sold, it's essentially a reproduction and value is negligible. It's best to look up the artist on ebay and look at sold prices.
Art values are subjective at best, and if you can't find the artist when you Google them it's safe to say they are not worth more than you paid.

8 No Furniture. Furniture despite age, has negligible value. Most old wooden furniture is not in fashion and resale value is usually under 500 dollars. Please do a Google search. We do not value furniture. Mass produced furniture has low resale value, even antique furniture. One of a kind pieces are only valuable if they are of very high quality AND have provenance. If you want information on the furniture try r/antiques.

  1. No clothes, try a fashion sub. The exception would be an obvious Couture piece that is a one of a kind. If you bought it at a thrift store it doesn't belong here.

  2. No Nazi memorabilia. Just, no.

9.No jewelry. Modern jewelry, as in post 1920, is clearly marked with karat weight. Jewelry is easy to look up or, take it to a commercial jeweler. We can't verify authenticity from a photo.

Sunday post Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls handmade charm by Lauren Faust

Was digging through storage and found this little felt charm I got years ago from Lauren Faust. It was released as a limited batch (8 I think? They each had a unique expression) to promote her passion project at the time, Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls. The dolls from FAO Schwarz I can easily find pricing estimates on, but I have no idea about this one.

My husband found these under his bed while cleaning. His grandmother had sent them to him at some point in time. They’ve been sitting in a box for a few years until he refound them and now we’re curious of their worth. No intention to sell, truly just curiosity.

The one included is the smallest of the five he has, all but one included a COA and signatures. One has it’s actual _ out of _ count on its certificate.

Sunday post Custom made vintage car chest. What is it worth?

Thumbnail gallery
8 Upvotes

I got this gorgeous chest recently and have been looking to see what it is worth or where it came from and found nothing. My conclusion is that’s it custom made, making it hard to figure out the value. It’s made of vintage car interior, inside is lined with fabric, there is no damage or anything!
What do you think it’s worth?

Sunday post 3 dolls of different races holding hands with snaps and playing Ring Around the Rosie

I went to my favorite thrift store today. It’s known for its antiques and vintage finds because many families have them come and clear out deceased relatives homes so the items aren’t just trashed.

Anyways, today I found this set of 3 dolls, which have snaps on their hands so it looks as if they are holding hands and playing Ring Around the Rosie. I love them because they’re the exact same doll but in different races and the hat of one matches the dress of another and I think it’s just really cute. This store is known for its cheap prices as well, with most things under $5 or $10. Like most of what I got today was <$1-$3.99. I paid $19.99 for this. They do their research and I don’t doubt it’s worth it, but I can’t find anything on these dolls on google lens. I’m curious to know the company that made them or if they’re handmade (I don’t think they are); if these are a certain style, collection, or have a certain history/story to them; and how much they would have sold for originally and how high demand is for them now.

Sunday post Antique Chippendale love seat

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

I came into an antique Chippendale love seat that I suspect could be valuable. It has 4 claw and ball feet, I think forged (not machine made) nails. I don’t know much about joinery and can’t say much about that by looking at it. I can’t find a makers mark but also don’t want to remove any of the upholstery in case I can’t put it back. It was probably made in Canada or the UK in the late 19th or early 20th century. Any help from the community would be greatly appreciated.

Sunday post Curious

I have a question.

I was told this is a limited edition Funko pop and curious if I was looking to sell this where could I sell it and also get it properly appraised? It was signed the day Hulk launched his beer. I worked at the hooters where he did the TMZ interview.

Hulk said after he signed it, it should be worth $5k but I know that’s extremely exaggerated.

Sunday post The Flashbulb - Hardscrabble Delux Edition (Limited to 200 copies)

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi all, I've been going through my stuff and found my 2012 Delux copy of Hardscrabble by The Flashbulb. It contains the CD, still wrapped, a blue tree patch, and a signed photograph of the hardscrabble area, signed by Benn Jordan (The Flashbulb).

With it being so limited, and from a musician who is not a household name, but is well known amongst people who like that kinda thing - I have no idea as to its value.

Thanks!

Sunday post My dads enormous sports card collection

My dad had an addiction to sports cards in what he said were the years 1997-2000. There are thousands of (mainly basketball cards) all ungraded and pretty much untouched, there are SO many expensive looking cards of star players at the time. How much could this collection really be worth minimum? There are about 5 single file shoebox width containers completely stuffed with them.

Sunday post Apothecary bottles??? - "W&T 126"

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

I have found several of these antique clear glass bottles. They are 4 .5" tall. The bottoms all have the same markings "W&T" and under that "126". I got them in rural Pennsylvania.

My searching only turned up a listing for "Sage Brush Hair Tonic" that appears to use these same bottles. However, I am assuming these bottles were used by many companies for apothecary bottles.

Any additional information would be appreciated, like if they are worth anything or if I should just enjoy them as bud vases.

Thanks

Hi everyone! Would love some help on solving this mystery that local museums and art experts haven’t solved.

Unverified information given by others:

Artist: unknown, no signature present.

Age: definitely on the older side (I’ve been told 1600’s-1700’s.

Location: Purchased in late 90’s from estate sale near Buffalo, NY.

Subject: St. Peter’s liberation from prison.

I’m sorry I don’t have more details to share

Sunday post What is this polished round stone slab, and what’s it worth? ~40 cm, one side glossy, other side matte

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Found this circular stone piece. About 40 cm across, a few cm thick. One face is highly polished with honey-brown and cream veining; the back is duller and unfinished. Edge is rounded. Feels like marble or onyx, not plastic or resin.
No markings. Is this a lazy Susan, cheese board, or just a decorative slab? Any idea on type and rough value?
