You never seen a C17 Globemaster? You’re like right next door to Dover air base. They fly tons of these as well as the big boy C5 Galaxy outta there.

The one you’re looking at it is the baby at the bottom. C5 up top.

And for people that don't know. The c-5 has more room in the unusable sapce of the tail cone than all of the cargo space of a c-130.

Edit: typo.

I used to fly on a C-5. Can confirm it's massive. You can fit 6 greyhound busses inside the cargo compartment.

I do yes.

2

u/sassyowl 2h ago

I deleted my previous comment on light of your correction. Didn't mean to come off like a dick, apologies.

1

u/NextDoctorWho12 1h ago

I didn't think you did. You should have left it. I was wrong. No worries here bud. Have a good day.

1

u/henrydaiv 2h ago

C131 pretty small comparatively so i believe it lol

1

u/NextDoctorWho12 2h ago

C-130. Typo.

2

u/Low_Plastic363 2h ago

They go in and out of Andrews too

7

u/mummy_whilster 2h ago

Hope Andrew uses the right amount of lube…

1

u/Rex_Nemorensis_ 2h ago

I don’t think any amount of lube is going to help him on that one

2

u/sassyowl 2h ago

This is the better answer.

1

u/amcrambler 2h ago

Take a look at the ramp at Andrews in Google Maps and then take a look at the ramp at Dover.

1

u/sassyowl 2h ago

I was stationed at ADW, and C17s are there all the time pulling Presidential support. DOV has C17s at home station, but OP is in MD, not DE. Unless it's flying to CHS, most missions wouldn't cross capital airspace so I presume this AC is either positioning for an upcoming mission or terminating from a mission they just completed.

You can check that on Google maps

1

u/amcrambler 2h ago

Just sayin. Andrews has one sitting there. Dover has 11 and you’ve got no idea which side of the Chesapeake this person is on.

1

u/sassyowl 2h ago

It does not appear to have a Dover tail, but you probably know better than I do....

this guy cargo planes

Being in Maryland doesn't mean they live there - you're assuming they're a resident. This could be their first day in the state.

7

u/JJRDRR 2h ago

This is the kind of cornball petty set of replies you can always count on from reddit.

1

u/sassyowl 2h ago

I think the point is more that they are in Maryland. Not Delaware.

Are we making a Fantasy Island reference in 2026!?!

1

u/slicerprime 1h ago

Apparently. And we're both old as dirt to have recognised it

4

u/Western_Ad_4658 3h ago

5

u/Slamtilt_Windmills 2h ago

Tattoo

2

u/PhatCatTax 2h ago

I only trust tattoos with pictographic characters that (presumably) say deeply inspirational things like "Live Laugh Love"

3

u/InactiveMedusa 3h ago

Nah, it's a bird

5

u/VoceDiDio 3h ago

It's Superman!! No wait it's a plane.

2

u/Signal_2_Noise 3h ago

I also ruled out the cape when trying to zoom in on the details. Would be cool if it indeed was the Man of Steel.

2

u/VoceDiDio 3h ago

Very very cool! You hardly ever see him these days!

0

u/Signal_2_Noise 3h ago

That was my first guess but I ruled out feathers when zoomed in.

8

u/theprofromdover2 2h ago

It’s part of the civilian monitoring program. They are flying over your house to determine if you are a threat. Stay frosty my friend. They may be coming for you.

5

u/WillowOpen 3h ago

3

u/Downtown_Tower_7506 2h ago

It’s an FDV, freedom delivery vehicle, probably on a training mission to go out and deliver some freedom.

3

u/Impatient-Hydrangea 2h ago

That baby can hold so many eagles

5

u/contude327 2h ago

In that case, this photo is obviously of a rabbit.

3

u/FishFart1 2h ago

A rabbit? That is clearly a washing machine!

3

u/contude327 2h ago

I agree, it is a bicycle.

2

u/Sents-2-b 39m ago

Get it right you morons it is obviously a cessna

1

u/whytakemyusername 2h ago

Have we reached the point where we don't believe anyone could be asking what something is anymore?

2

u/QuandariousDingle54 2h ago

We are well past that point.

Just take a look at the lack of OP replies

1

u/Cowpuncher84 3h ago

Most posts are.

2

u/Myriad_Apocalypse 2h ago

A dildo if you're brave enough

2

u/Wide_Dog2107 2h ago

C-17 Globemaster…. In theory, it replaces the C-5 Galaxy but it’s not quite as big. It is more capable from a speed and ability to land and Blake off in austere conditions though.

1

u/blizzardss 3h ago

It lands at Martin Airport all the time.

1

u/GrumpyCurmudgeon65 3h ago

It's a Johnson.

1

u/figbott 3h ago

That plane looks pragneant y’all.

1

u/Revolution_Falls 3h ago

C17 Globemaster, I like to call it the little biggun.

u/Mikepierce93 2h ago

Trump is pulling out of Europe because of fake threats reported by Bibi. He is trying to get Trump to freak out and bomb Iran. He's the only reason we are in an unprovoked war with them.

1

u/amcrambler 2h ago

It’s a plane…

C141

4

u/Patriot009 3h ago edited 2h ago

Nope, it's a C-17. The 141 has an unusually long but uniform fuselage and a symmetrical nosecone. The C-17 has a shorter fuselage with a nosecone that is tapered up like in the pic.

The engines on the 141 are also more elongated and torpedo shaped, whereas the 17 had a more teardrop-shaped engines.

2

u/WillowOpen 2h ago

Nope Boeing C-17, wingtips are lifted, and C141 was retired long ago.
