Obviously alternative fashion of some kind, but I can't figure out for the life of me where it goes! I bought it for the big spikes, but I'd like to know where it's supposed to be worn.
It looks like a shoulder harness. The spikes would suggest it was for a costume or maybe a heavy metal concert. BDSM CAN get to spikes and drawing blood, but thats usually a very, very extreme and more niche.
nah, spikes can be for fashion in bdsm too, esp in the leather community. but they're usually smaller for safety, like an inch or less. that looks like a goth fashion piece.
you want the pain to be intentional, not accidental. plus, anything that's advertising that much is just kinda cheesy
I mean to be fair I’m definitely at the “needles blood and edge play” extreme end of things.. spikes like this are pretty tame and more of a fashion piece than a functional thing… Altho i gotta say getting hugged by a baddie covered in spikes hits so good so there not NO function
I see doom and black metal accessories. Sure one always assumes it has to be something truly taboo, but I know a few goths that wear this type of thing. Once I saw a 3" spiked bandoliers that held .44 rounds perfectly in between the spikes, in little loops. It was custom made for this guy that wanted a Gothic Cowboy look. It was beautiful!
The one pictured is from Dolls Kill, an established retailer. The one OP has is just a mohawk version. I didn't think the strap direction would cause so many issues
It's a spike mohawk. Look at the orientation of the straps. It's not like the one in the picture. If the spikes went across the head the chin strap would have to go through your skull
I thought maybe this was it, but i cant find any that look like it... or maybe a human muzzle? But nothing I look up is close enough. I also am too scared to put it anywhere near my face.
Maybe on the shoulder, like a shoulder pauldron? Strip with the spikes going front to back, and with the long strip with the buckle going around the chest?
Might need to think bigger than fashion; kinky people will put leather straps on ANYTHING. Furniture. A labubu. Once saw a guy walking his dachsund where the human and the dog had matching harnesses.
I basically live out of my car for weeks at a time for work, so I eat fruit and veggies on the go. I do need to clean it up next time I stop on the road.
That's what I originally thought, but it flexes OUT a lot on the strap with the spikes, like somethings meant to sit inside that spot... and i don't think anyone is small enough to fit their ribs inside any part of this thing.
I had one, but I think it got chucked with the trash after a friend puked in it. Gotta get a new one, I eat in my car a lot cuz I spend weeks at a time living out of it for work.
Was developed by NASA, after the first Gemini mission. The straps hold onto the wrist gently for performing light maneuvers and the spikes are meant to integrate into the HOLY SHIT, DUDE YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THAT SHIT IS FOR.
I like to think that the person who donated this was snickering as they put it into their donation bag, chuckled on the drive over to donate it, and outright guffawed as they drove away from the thrift store they left it at. 😂
It’s a mohawk head harness by Funk Plus. On the second photo, I have a smaller harness (the one from the comment OP pinned) layered on top of the larger harness. They are both from the company Funk Plus.

He's subtle on the dance floor and suave around the bar. He's a quickdraw with a lighter and a super movie star! You know he's not the king of bedside manor....not the Tom Jones who lives next door..nope not anymore
Depends on the size, but it probably fits on a helmet. Allows added spikes and a chin strap without physically modifying it, which would make it no longer certified.
