Solved! What is it that made my faucet do this?
My cats were drinking from my faucet for a minute or two and the faucet looked like this afterwards. Only reverted to normal when I touched where the water actually comes out from.
Edit:
The water was barely on, just a low flow
No sediment in the head of faucet

Aerator needs to be cleaned or replace. Unscrew the collar and take it to Lowe's with you

i got no clue what u just said but its sounding so smart.
aerator

The Aerator is the round metal part on the bottom where the water comes out of the faucet. It's a screen that forces water and air to mix together so there are lots of tiny bubbles in the water as it exits the faucet, this saves a fuck ton of water as you don't need all that water pressure at once when you are washing something, it slows down the flow of water which is only inconvenient when you are filling a pot to boil something (which is why many commercial kitchens have a special faucet just for filling large pots that flows faster and reaches higher than a standard faucet).

There’s a little screen in there that puts little bubbles in the water. It’s clogged up

The last faucet i had actually had a feature that was similiar to this. 3 different setting, spray, regular and something like this. To me it seemed like it was for washing/rinsing cups or glasses. The stream was wider than this but looked very similar. Does ur faucet have this feature?
4
u/FunCompetition2000 13h ago
It does not, I just have a sprayer and the normal faucet with an adjustable flow amount
1
u/Valuable-Composer262 12h ago
In any case, its a pretty cool feature. Ive only seen it once but never really looked for it

Your kiddos taking the screen for thier Marijuana pipes

u/Cold-Manufacturer576 12h ago
They actually had an announcement in jr. high. Please do steal the screens from the sinks, we know who’s doing it and we won’t put up with it anymore.

u/Feenix77 12h ago
If you know who’s doing it, you don’t make announcements…
…you make arrests. 😎

Well they can’t come right out and say it was Ricky and Cleg because technically there isn’t any evidence but come on dude.

I remember walking to Home Depot and getting the screens from the sample sinks there. The struggles were real.

I don’t think a single faucet in my friend group’s houses had a screen left. I often wonder what the folks thought about that…

True. Adults don't use screens

Real pot heads know to put their tongue in front of the hole to catch the pull through. If it burns your tongue it burns your tongue.

who uses metal pipes with screens anymore?
7
u/No_Shine_6124 12h ago
You can put a metal screen in a glass pipe.
2
u/WiglyWorm Spotlight Technician 12h ago
... why?
8
u/Sirmossy 12h ago
If you're serious, it's to stop the dry herb from going inside the pipe and into your mouth when you're using it. Also makes the pipe easier to clean.
2
u/weinerschnitzel64 12h ago
The screens always got caked in resin and I broke a couple pipes trying to get them out with a knife.
I tried these glass screens one time, they were like little glass jacks. Like the jacks you would play with a bouncy ball

I guess i just haven't had that issue enough to think about it... also as another commenter has mentioned, if you have a bunch of shake use the nug plug. :)
3
u/Necessary_Fig_2265 12h ago
If I’m down to shake I’m out of nugs
1
u/WiglyWorm Spotlight Technician 12h ago
You could always hit it gently.
IDK man I grew up smoking weed in the 90s and the taste of copper is just forever etched into my brain. It's awful. But it's probably just a me issue. :)
4
u/gipoe68 12h ago
Because they haven't hear of the nug plug.
3
u/nickfree 12h ago
I am old and have indeed never heard of a nug plug. But I know enough to caution that it should have a flared base.

u/WiglyWorm Spotlight Technician 12h ago
It's what the kids call it when you put a small piece of flower at the bottom of the bowl to stop ash from getting sucked through.

u/BAMF_momma2 12h ago
So you don't get tiny buds/toasted burning pieces in your mouth. Same reason. Sometimes the holes in glass pipes are a little too big also. I used to use screens in my glass pipes. But you can buy packs of them anywhere for super cheap. I don't smoke out of glass pieces anymore, but definitely useful to have a screen if you don't want embers or buds in your mouth!

Reading the comments. Ill give you the steps easiest to hardest. (Australia plumbing is different to American)
- Hold the faucet and try and screw everting tight. Righty tighty, lefty loosey.
It's more than likely a very small o-ring that failed around the filter head.
Have you lost water pressure? Anywhere else in the house?

You are looking at a dynamic bifurcation. I don't know what a dynamic bifurcation is, but I know one when I see one. If you very carefully turn the water flow up and down, you may see some interesting behaviors. You might even hit a Rössler Attractor. You know, for kids!

You're watching laminar flow in action, as opposed to turbulent flow which occurs below the laminar flow. Your aerator is slowing down the flow in a particular pattern. Go clean or replace the aerator.

u/Chemical-Delay-6957 12h ago
Surface tention of H2O likely combined with some minor faucet screen obstruction driven by low flow

Cat saliva mixed with normal water tension, the steady water pressure "dancing" around the mixture. Your finger breaking the hold.
Idk. Thats my guess.

I’m going on a date with her tonight if you’d like to come along. I’ll even have to leave early if you’d like
2
u/quietsauce 12h ago
No, she won't talk to me. Even though I did literally everything for her. Broke my heart and left me in a city she wanted to move to. I suspect she cheated on me though, so watch out! I do want her to be happy though. Everyone deserves happiness. You live and you learn I guess and I feel like Im a better person for it. Doesn't mean it didn't hurt though. I guess its just important to focus on the good memories that remain. Love doesn't work out sometimes and we just have to treasure it when we have it. Its a roll of dice my friend, and I wish you both all the happiness in the world. Maybe someday we'll be in the same neighborhood and I can have you over for dinner. It'll be a while obviously because I think with the time we were together it would be a little awkward. You dont want to open the proverbial wound as they say. But they also say you love and you learn and maybe we just didn't grow together. But you could have fooled me. Sure I made mistakes but I also tried so hard to make it work and you know how hard my profession is! Its not like I wanted to spend so many nights and weekends in the office. It was a sacrifice I was making not for me, but for us. If I come up in conversation just let her know that I will always care for her and nothing will ever change that. Do not get into conversations about her family, she thinks they are great and Im sorry, they are absolutely not. Lmk how it goes, okay?

Idk if this is a copy pasta or not.
But in case it’s not.I came to a realization after my ex wife cheated on me, and we subsequently got divorced, that I was in love with the idea of her. The image of her I had in my mind was way better than she ever was. She was beautiful, fun, compassionate, faithful, ect. And after I found out she cheated I saw all of those things fall apart. I fell apart. I put a gun in my mouth and squeezed the trigger but I didn’t pull hard enough. I was too scared, and I thought of all the people I would have really hurt in my life.
But after some time I realized I was in love with the image of her I had created in my mind, because she was those qualities and characteristics to me at one point and is now no longer. I had to almost grieve the idea. And live in the reality of the situation.

Yeah, I was trying to be funny but there's a lot of truth in that too. Takes a really long time to get over, at least it took me a really long time. But now Im joking about it. Be well friend.

So your cat licks is ass and all sorts of great things… then distributes that filth over you water supply. Gross… cat people.

Probably a main line break either its your house or in your area being worked on. So lines would have low pressure. Check with local water company
