We think our perspective is the only one that matters. So arrogant.

Halal and Kosher in a nutshell

I've had so many people tell me halal/kosher are more humane methods of slaughtering and it's baffling

The "more" is doing a lot of the heavy lifting there. Not exactly a high bar to be better than industrial slaughter. Still wrong though ofc

Honestly I think it's worse than a lot of industrial slaughtering methods. It's a great showcase of the idea that smaller/slower farming methods don't intrinsically equal more humane (insofar as needless slaughter of animals for meat could ever be said to be humane) as many people want to think.

and religious ppl get mad if their meat isnt halal or kosher. you are upset that your meat didn't suffer while it slowly bled out?

Is this an anti-death penalty post? I genuinely don’t understand.

How could this be about the death penalty? Lol

It’s literally a cow in the image that’s being “humanely” slaughtered.

The cow is wearing an orange prison uniform and is being escorted by a priest

The cow being in the prison uniform likely symbolizes that animals are prisoners of humans, and it seems to be criticizing the irony and hypocrisy of religious people who claim to value compassion and the sanctity of life while still accepting the killing of animals.

No it's supposed to make you think about what it would mean to do what we do to animals to humans, and the death penalty is the closest example to that. A fr murder would be a poor example compared to this, which is people coming together to kill someone because they deem it necessary and moral. The image highlights the absurdity of both things!!! It very clearly has to do with the death penalty this is frustrating. It's not necessarily making its whole point about the death penalty, it's still about animals, but it is depicting an animal in the death penalty situation for a reason. There are strong parallels. It's not just random symbolism.

I mean sure, you can interpret it that way, but the artist himself clarified the joke in the comments. He specifically mentioned “cannibals” and “if you are a cow,” (in the comments) which reinforces that the art is about animals being slaughtered… not the death penalty. Yeah the orange jumpsuit does seem to evoke a prisoner awaiting execution but that is not the subject.

That's what I'm trying to say

Doesn’t seem like it

All this methods of "humane slaughtering" are just to make humans feel better for eating animals. It's never going to change much and animals will still keep on suffering. So, we can't really call it moral.
