miscellaneous How has your Jupiter Mahadasha been?

So my fellow people going through Jupiter Mahadasha... how has it been for you?

I was born in Rahu Mahadasha, and honestly, Rahu wasn’t even that bad for me. I’m currently in Jupiter Mahadasha, and these 16 years have been the hardest period of my life so far(4 more years left).

Which is funny because Jupiter is supposed to be the “good” planet compared to Rahu, but my experience has been the complete opposite. Jupiter Mahadasha has been extremely taxing for me, in pretty much every way.

So I genuinely want to know how it’s been for other people. Has Jupiter Mahadasha actually been good for you, or has it also been difficult?

And I’d especially like to hear from Capricorn Ascendants who've undergone this dasha.

Tell me your experiences, I’m genuinely curious.

miscellaneous Instagram Astrology reels

Post image
61 Upvotes

Why do certain astrologers post these type of reels which reaches the mass who do not have proper knowledge of astrology and on the basis of that they’ll make certain decisions. What do such astrologers want to convey, because real astrologers won’t say any placement is bad they’ll look at all aspects and what if such placements are beneficial for the partner. Such eye catching reels and captions should be stopped, Astrology is a joke now.

miscellaneous Astrologer told this to my mother

Post image
28 Upvotes

My mother visited this astrologer yesterday, idk what he said is true or not but certain things astonished me. Can you help me verify if whatever he said makes sense or he is just looking to sell me gemstones.

  1. I have chandal yog and I should not go to any temple because I have a neech shani.

  2. I'm stubborn, don't listen to anyone and live as I wish (which is true)

  3. I can make good money through business. He said "larka croro mai khelega." (I took 200 this morning from a friend for my breakfast.)

  4. I should wear Emerald/Panna and yellow sapphire/pukhraj.

  5. Take no risks until June 2029

  6. Time from 2021-2042 will be golden for me. I personally feel someone already stole my gold.

Please verify if he's true about things he told me and if I should get some gemstones.

miscellaneous What is the point? Slow help is no help

I have heard so many times " Saturn doesn't deny, it delays", but one thing always bothers me. What is the point of getting something after so much delay that it is of no use. A stitch in time, saves nine.

for eg. if the marriage is delayed so much that eventually having kids will become a bigger problem and one problem is leading to another.

what is the point of getting only when the delay is unbearable and leads to another problem?

miscellaneous AITA - I just got scammed by a semi-famous Instagram astrologer; I need perspective, I can't tell if it's something I did.

For context, I've studied Vedic astrology for a few years myself. I enjoy it, read charts casually for friends, and feel confident enough to tell a thoughtful astrologer from a generic one.

I've been going through a difficult period (Ra-Sa) recently and felt I'd lost objectivity reading my own chart, so I decided to book a consultation with an astrologer I followed online. She has 40K+ followers, puts out genuinely informative content, and came recommended by a friend who had previously taken a reading from her.

I purchased her 5-question astrology package for â‚č3,300 and paid in full upfront. I gave her my questions and told her it was important to understand them in my context since they were very time and situation-specific. She 'Like' reacted to my questions, and I shared voicenotes outlining my problem and what I was seeking from the questions.

Before the reading, I sent my questions and also sent voice notes explaining the context behind them. My questions were very situation-specific, especially around career decisions and a possible relocation. She acknowledged the messages and told me the reading would be detailed and that I could cross-question her if needed.

She mentioned the reading would be detailed and that I could cross-question her on it. She said I'd receive the reading by 1 AM. She started after 2 AM.

The answers immediately felt very generic. For example, when I asked about the possibility of reconciliation with an ex, her answer was essentially, "Maybe, he could come back, who knows. You're in your Ra-Sa, Sa is Retrograde." Almost Google-able answers to my questions.

That felt super vague to me. She then told me, "He was just there to waste your time, focus on your career," at which point I realised she was generalising the reading as well.

After that, I asked about when and how I could meet my future partner, whether she could describe him, and what my time of marriage looked like. Her response was, "Marry late as you have Sa in 7th, lord of Ve with Me, so in Ra-Me or Ra-Ve." She mentioned my Ve & Me are in Balavastha. Both at 29 Degrees. (-_-)

Again, it felt super generic, almost the kind of stuff I could Google or get from ChatGPT instantly. Her description was only: "Older in age, motivated towards making money, through a friend's friend." I have a Retrograde Sa in Taurus 7th House with an Exalted Moon. There is more to my house of marriage than just this. Venus and Mercury in 11th, Vargottam, Neech Bhang.

When she moved on to my career questions, she advised me to move from my hometown to cities A, B, or C. The problem was that I was already living in one of those cities, and the entire context of my question was about whether I should leave a specific opportunity there. I felt the reading was rushed as well, and my real problems were being neglected. The other two answers that followed about my career and finances were also vague. She was telling me things about what I could do, when I had already explained in the VN that I had done most of those roles and understood what I was supposed to do astrologically. What I needed to know was whether XYZ roles would suit me better now.

That's when I asked if she'd listened to my voice notes.

She replied, "Sorry, I haven't heard them."

At that point, I politely explained that my questions couldn't really be answered without that context and asked if she could listen to the voice notes whenever she had time. I repeatedly told her there was no rush.

She continued answering without addressing the context I'd sent, and the rest of the advice felt equally generic. I was really confused by now, because I didn't sign up to get this, I had different questions entirely, I requested her to get back to me once she had context on my situation. She stopped replying even though she had never mentioned a time limit. This entire back and forth had been 40 minutes at max. I am okay with that, but had she told me there was a time limit, I would have been more cognizant.

The next morning, I followed up gently. She asked whether 5 PM worked for me, which made me think she planned to send me a final round of answers. I said yes. Instead, she sent me a GPay number and asked for another payment.

When I expressed confusion because I'd paid the night before, she said she had already answered my five questions and anything further would be a separate consultation.

At that point, I sent a message saying I felt the service had been incomplete because she herself had admitted she hadn't listened to the information necessary to answer some of the questions. I also requested a refund.

Within minutes, she called me.

The call consisted almost entirely of her shouting at me. She accused me of trying to exploit and manipulate her, said people like me were "Instagram wali janta" who think they've "bought astrologers," told me I was disrespecting her as an elder, and repeatedly insisted she had fulfilled her obligation.

I barely got to speak she hung up instantly.

She then followed up with messages accusing me of exploitation and manipulation, refused any further readings, blocked me on Instagram, and sent me a voice note referencing her no-refund policy.

I stopped engaging instantly.

From my perspective, the issue isn't whether astrology is real or not. It's that I paid for a service, provided context for my questions, and the she openly admitted she hadn't reviewed that context before answering them.

But I also wonder whether I crossed a line by expecting her to listen to a 17-minute voice note and by asking for a refund afterward.

In hindsight, I can acknowledge that my voice note was 17 minutes long, and that may have been more context than she wanted to consume. I had even messaged her saying, "Please speed this up, I'm a slower talker." But what confused me was that she never asked me to shorten it, summarise it, or send the information in writing instead. Had she told me she didn't have the time or energy to go through such a long voice note, I would have happily condensed it, typed it out, or sent a shorter version. My issue wasn't that she didn't want to listen to 17 minutes of context. It was that she never communicated that, and then proceeded to answer questions whose context she hadn't reviewed.

AITA?

For added context, here is the message I sent her asking for a refund.

"Hey,

But I haven’t received answers on question 2 & 3 at all. I shared the context and details of my question with you over a voicenote that you haven’t heard.

You mentioned you’d be helping with detailed answers but my questions itself is far from the answers I have received. This feels extremely unfair to me [Name]. I sent you a 100% advance, took up this session at 2AM in the night, when I realised you hadn’t gone through my voicenote - because my questions were time and situation specific I gently requested that you take your time to go through it/so that you are able to bring me clarity in what I am trying to actually ask you. You haven’t even mentioned - my move to Pune and the job opportunity I’m trying to move out of - the context for my question - should I explore more was in that voicenote.

This is under-delivery on what was promised and what I had paid for [Name]. I would like to respectfully, request a refund for the sum that I paid. Most of your responses do not even align with my specific scenario. You recommend moving to Mumbai - but I have already moved and mentioned the problem in the voicenote.

This does make me feel like the session was rushed and neglected and as much as I have looked up to you, my experience here is hurtful.

Please feel free to connect me with you team if need be to take this up. I haven’t been given a complete or a fair reading."

This is what she wrote to me right after the call -

"This is clear exploitation and manipulation that you are trying to do here. Unexpected from a person like you. Sorry but I did my best to answer your questions. No more readings will be provided to you from my end. Utter disrespect to my service."

I was pissed, replied with -

"Alright. One of us charged for a service and then didn't deliver it as promised.

You can believe whatever works for you when it comes to exploitation. You are the one using terms like this when all I have mentioned to you in my message is that this has been an unfair experience.

If you cannot respect people who come to you for readings, and call them 'Instagram wali janta,' or provide a service professionally while also calling me up and raising your voice at me when I have spoken to you with nothing but respect, please keep my money and your business. Thank you. 🙏"

II really didn't expect a random call from her, screaming at me unsolicited and jumping to conclusions about who I am, when I was the one expressing discomfort about my experience with her.

miscellaneous The blatant gender bias in Jyotish subs is getting out of hand.

I’m honestly speechless at the state of most Jyotish subreddits lately. It’s becoming impossible for men to get a genuine reading or even a basic response, while posts tagged with F get flooded with attention..

The attached screenshot is just one example, I was getting help until the moment it became clear I was male, and then I was ghosted instantly. Since when did a divine and pure shastr like Jyotish become a tool for seeking female interacction? It’s desperate, it’s creepy, and it’s disrespectful to the knowledge itself. does the science of the stars only apply if the person asking is a woman? We need to do better as a community

Edit: A fellow redditor reached out to me and turns out this same person sent them sexually explicit messages and asked them to break up with their boyfriend.

miscellaneous Using Chatgpt 5.6 for Astrology reading

I generated my chart on Astrosage and gave the entire Pdf report to chatgpt for reading. Now I know its still not great at calculations but from my experience once it has correct data (unless astro sage is flawed) with all the charts, dashas, etc it can do pretty decent reading. I have been testing it for a few months now by asking questions about events that have already happened such as my childhood, career etc and its been pretty spot on. It does lack the human intuition but from a reading pov I found its able to connect a lot of dots. Anyone else have had similar experience?

I want to buy my own house, Situation between me and my father used to get so bad that I had to run away from home to stay one full night at iskcon temple washroom just for some peace of mind. People look at my chart and say that I'm harsh at speach and and I have a fast temper. But really I'm a sweet girl unless I'm with my father.

1)I want to start a buisness, but 2nd and 11th house lord jupiter debilitated in 12th house, idk what to expect. I want to start earning in college so I can buy a home before college ends. I'll start from next year 2027.

2) I don't know what to expect from marriage, saturn in 7th house, mars 8th aspect on saturn. Looks like divorce situation.

3) For buisness, I don't know if mercury is in decent position or not.

5) parivartan yoga between sun and saturn, both are debilitated. Most of the planets in my chart are not in a good position, saturn, sun, jupiter and moon are all debilitated. Moon 11th house is debilitated I think.

6) I have a bad name in my family too, people think I take my single father for granted but they don't understand the kind of verbal, physical, abuse I went through.

Idk if i overshared,

I just want to know if it gets better, if i should expect something from my marriage or not. If I'll be able to do something or not.

miscellaneous Regarding the Vishnu Sahasranama

I want to share something I experienced and would like to know whether it really means something or not.

I have been reciting the Vishnu Sahasranama daily for the last few months. A few days after I started, a street dog began coming to my house every day, twice a day at the exact same time. I would give him food, and I also feed birds daily.

Recently, due to some personal issues, I was not able to recite the Vishnu Sahasranama for one week. During that time, the dog and the birds stopped coming. I thought it was normal—maybe due to the cold weather—and didn’t pay much attention. One day, a random thought came to my mind that maybe they had stopped coming because I had stopped reciting the Vishnu Sahasranama, but I ignored it.

However, after a week, when I started reciting the Vishnu Sahasranama again, the dog and the birds started coming back as well.

So I’m wondering—is this just normal coincidence, or does it mean something?

I heard that whatever you get during Rahu MD, gets taken away by end of the MD? I got good job during this Venus AD. I'm in Mars AD right now. Worried if I'm going to lose my job during this last phase due to this AI and layoffs scene.
I know every birth chart is different. Though, I would like to read your experience during Rahu MD Mars AD and Jupiter MD beginning.

miscellaneous Cancer Moons, We Made It But At What Cost?

I don’t even know how to put this into words. The last two years didn’t just test me.. they shattered me. And if you have a Cancer Moon like me, I know you felt it too.

2023 and 2024 wasn’t just a bad year. It was the kind of years that leave scars. The kind that forces you to fight battles you never signed up for. I worked under a toxic boss, surrounded by people who drained every ounce of my energy. Every day, I woke up with a pit in my stomach, knowing I had to walk into a space that made me feel small, worthless, invisible. No matter how much I gave, it was never enough. I was exhausted... mentally, physically, emotionally. And just when I thought I had reached my limit, life said, not yet.

I lost people. Some left, some were taken from me. And the worst part? Life didn’t even give me a moment to grieve. The world kept moving, and I was expected to keep up.. like my heart hadn’t just been torn apart. Then came the accident. I can still remember the feeling of helplessness, the split second where everything went silent, and I thought, Is this it?

And through it all, I carried the weight of it alone. Because when you have a Cancer Moon, you don’t just feel your own pain... you feel everything. The pain of those around you. The suffering of people you love. You carry burdens that were never yours to carry, because that’s just who we are.

Even just a few days ago, I found myself breaking down. Not because of one big thing, but because of the countless little wounds that never had the chance to heal. I was so used to surviving, I forgot what it felt like to just be.

But today
 something shifted.

Saturn has finally moved out of Aquarius. The chapter that almost destroyed us is closing. And for the first time in what feels like forever, we can breathe.

I know this doesn’t erase the pain. The scars are still there. The memories still haunt us. But for the first time in years, we are not fighting against the current. For the first time, life isn’t just about survival.

Cancer Moons, we made it. And now? Now, we learn to live again.

We learn to wake up without fear of what the day will bring. We learn to trust life again, to believe that maybe.. just maybe.. good things are on their way. We learn to let go of the weight we were never meant to carry.

today, as Saturn moves forward, so do we.

miscellaneous Rahu mahadasha, indisciplined teenage and Vishnu Sahasranama.

Post image
1 Upvotes

So I'm 17M and have consulted an astrologer due to my father's belief which further started making me as well believe in astrology....I had been told to chant vishnu sahasranama daily to control my rahu as I'm currently 3 years in my rahu md and my saturn as well, but I don't know why I'm very inconsistent with it once in a while i listen to it on YouTube.

I did it today and my observations were:

Restlessness/fidgeting, wanting to know constantly when it would end(30 mins video for the chant), slight sweating, desire to open my eyes and indirectly loose focus but I managed to control it throughout, most important my back pain and aches causing unrest in my body and slight pain in knees both collectively causing me to change positions constantly, lustful and wrong things suddenly appearing in mind to remove focus.

I want to change myself, learn my lessons like I'm supposed to and make the most out of my life even though I'm indisciplined can't commit to time and myself and also have procrastinating tendencies, I want to make the most out of my life and embrace the reason I've been blessed with a lot of things which I currently take granted(parents who gave me comfortable life after sacrificing theirs, doing them justice is doing justice to myself).

I'll be attaching my chart, please help me, not looking for remedies which are a shortcut or a quick fix i genuinely want to become someone who is humble and capable of making people proud of him.

Idk if this is a genuine thing to ask here but seriously like,

i just h-word my realtives a lot LIKE A Lot, especially on my maternal side, i just don't like them, and ig they don't like me either, everytime they find a way to humiliate me, talk behind my back, and make up stories and the worst part is that they act so sweet to my face, idk if they're jealous or what, but why do they do this?

Every time, they have something to say about my career, asking when im getting married or what im doing. It's so frustrating!

When will this humiliation actually stop? also, does my chart show any distance from maternal relatives?

Ik i have a heavy 8th h which can bring humiliation, but there has to be a limit!

miscellaneous Those facing ketu mahadasha, How is your experience? Did your brain stop working?

I still have 2 more years left for it to end. Ketu mahadasha was very brutal for me. Life made me question my existence.

My brain stopped working during this period. I was feeling sleepy always. I was also doing a lot of narcotic drugs in this period. I was abroad and completely lonely and isolated for 5 years. I used to get panic attacks abroad due to loneliness. I lost my high paying job abroad and had to return to India. In India also I am unable to find job.

Positive side is that I quit my drug habit completely and I started vipassana meditation. I also got best physique ever in this period. Also toxic people are slowly going away from my life.

Now since a month I got my brain back and my mental health is improving slowly.
