Coming from an iPhone, I wanted a keyboard that stays out of the way and autocorrects like iOS does. So I built Numen, a fork of the excellent Pastiera.

It's built only for the Titan 2 Elite and English, and the roadmap is short: keep it simple, make it easier to understand, and make autocorrect better.
Autocorrect only steps in when it's confident, because a wrong correction is worse than a missed one. If it gets a word wrong, tell me what you typed and what it became and I'll fix it.
Free and open source. Huge thanks to all Pastiera contributors.

My Titan 2 Elite arrived today and I honestly can’t get over how good it is. I’m an iPhone user but setting this up was so easy and I can’t believe how sharp and snappy the screen is.
The keyboard is everything I could’ve hoped for. It’s so much fun to type on and so satisfying. I didn’t realise how much I would love having the screen and keyboard separate. It just makes sense and the overall flow of the phone is amazing.
I know it’s only day one but so far everything is just perfect. It also feels heavy and expensive - but not too heavy. It fits in the hand so comfortably I feel like this is the perfect size for a phone. Picking up my iPhone feels like a big chunky brick now.
Camera was much better than I was anticipating. Same with sound it was very loud and clear. I can’t wait to play with it over the next weekend learn everything but so far I could not be happier!
If anyone has any advice on apps to download or settings to change etc please let me know in the comments.

I just got my T2E today and I'm wondering if there's a way to toggle fast charging off. I know it sounds stupid but I always charge all my devices as slowly as possible to lessen the stress on the batter and hopefully slow down battery degradation. Most other Android phones I've used have a toggle for fast charging in battery management but I'm not finding it on this. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

Just received my T2E. First keyboard phone in a very long time, any tips or hints for startup or advice on user friendly features?
Thanks!

However I have been having some issues with it. I’ve had it since Sept. 12 and it shut down a few times before popping up with “DM verity corruption.” I had tried to follow some things online to fix it like a factory reset but that didn’t work. So I reached out to Unihertz themselves and they were able to get me everything to reflash the ROM… minus the ROM itself, had them for every other unihertz phone though.
As I write this it is 1:56pm and the third photo is my titan 2 elite having been frozen on this screen from 1:28pm.
I really do like this phone and I know these problems are fixable so if anyone has some tips or tricks I’d like to hear them.

Which brand phone do you think would be reliable ? As I am thinking of buying one after using pixel 4a for more than 4 years.
Qwerty phones ticks all the requirements of mine but the only issue is I live in India hence I don't belive they will give service support here, I take good care of my devices, but even so there are chances of device failure on its own. Let it be software or hardware.
So according to you which device will be reliable in terms of longitivity, service and also software updates?
Unihertz titan or Clicks communicator or Minimal phone
Or should I just buy an apple /samsung / google. Cause this is the first batch of qwerty phones and are hence experimental batches.

I ordered a second-hand one (used for just one day) to tide me over while waiting for the Clicks Communicator. I am hugely impressed by the build quality, the weight, and even the thickness. The phone looks 100x better in person than in photos. Now I’m waiting for the CC with even greater impatience! 😁

I really missed the tactile speed of classic QWERTY phones, so I’m building a dedicated QWERTY keyboard Android launcher.
Still a work in progress, but here's a quick demo showing the QWERTY launcher.
Feedback is welcome!

After making Square Chess I wanted to try another game that makes good use of the physical keyboard, so I made Square Words.
It’s a simple offline word game designed around the square screen. You can type words directly on the keyboard, and I’ve tried to keep the UI clean and make good use of the limited screen space rather than squeezing a normal phone layout onto it.
Like Square Chess, it’s completely free, with no ads, no login and no tracking. Everything stays on the phone.
I’m also working on Square Sudoku, which is nearly ready, and I have a few other small apps in progress.
Would love any feedback, particularly around the keyboard controls and layout.

Anyone using excel or sheets on their titan 2 elite? Been trying to get the nav buttons to move cells but without any success... I'm using PhysiBoard keyboard btw
r/unihertz • u/Flux-Sniffer • 11h ago
I've been working on Flux Keyboard, a fork of Pastiera tuned for the Titan 2 Elite, and 1.1.0 is out.
On the keyboard
- Emoji, kaomoji, symbols and GIFs on the physical keys, with search in each (and tabs that jump to a category)
- Trackpad swipes to pick suggestions or delete a word, in any app
- Modifier LEDs under the suggestion bar
- One-time codes from your notifications, and password managers' autofill chips
- Ctrl+Z in any app, and the same shortcuts in every app
Beyond the keyboard (through Shizuku, no root)
- The keyboard light on and off with the screen, following its brightness
- Screen size presets, and each app at its own screen size
- A type-to-launch app launcher

Source: https://github.com/Flux-Sniffer-Mods/Flux-Keyboard
It's built on Pastiera, so most of the keyboard itself is their work. Bug reports and ideas are welcome on GitHub.

Hi ! I've been looking at the T2E, it cheks a lot of boxes for what I would want in a phone, but I have a question - on the Kickstarter page, it says that the phone will have an QWERTY keyboard only for the first units they make, and then it says that :
"Good news, QWERTZ and AZERTY keyboard layouts will be available on our official website in the future. For this campaign, only the QWERTY layout is available, offered at a Kickstarter special price."
So I was wondering if anyone here knew when we could expect a AZERTY version (and if that wording really imply what I'm understanding, which is a phone with physical AZERTY keys, and not just a way to switch to AZERTY in the settings)

Heya lovely people,
I've been using my Titan 2 Elite for a while now and I know people like seeing it out and about so I grabbed my Action camera and took some POV footage of me using it. In the video I use:
There is probably some more stuff I've forgotten too, but I thought it might be useful to people who are looking at how the phone works day-to-day. A much longer, in-depth, video will be coming soon, but for now...enjoy!
Any questions let me know and I will answer as best as I can!
Thanks,
Joseph!

How reliable is this brand ? Specifically outside of china ?
Do they care for their customers ? Is the service good? Are the materials used in the product good (T2E). Can we compare them to bigger brands like vivo/oppo/google?

Hello, I am from Austria, so I often need to use the letter ä, ö, ü and ß. Right now I have to rely on autocorrect to switch out a, o, u and s, which doesn't always work. Some apps or Websites don't let me use autocorrect in the first place, making it lot harder.
Is there a way to "link" these letter to my keyboard (through key combinations for exampel?)

Hey everyone,
I need to vent and see if other QWERTY enthusiasts are dealing with this nonsense. I was a backer on kickstarter and received my unit about less than a month ago, and I am already noticing paint chipping and peeling right off the corner edges of the H and U keys.
If you look closely at the button edges, the coating has clearly flaked away, exposing the base material underneath. A brand-new device shouldn't look like it's been dragged through a decade of heavy industrial use in such a short span. After doing a quick search on Reddit, I've already come across multiple posts highlighting this exact issue with poor paint adhesion and coating quality on these physical keyboards.
It really makes you scratch your head: Why can't niche manufacturers just use simple molded, color-infused plastic buttons anymore? We had classic mobile devices and legacy hardware that molded the color directly into the plastic—meaning the material itself was colored all the way through, so surface wear never exposed a contrasting base layer. Why do consumers now have to put up with cheap surface-painted coatings that chip right off the edges under normal typing contact?
I have a few questions for the community:
1. Has Unihertz ever officially acknowledged or addressed this coating/paint defect for customers affected by it on their keyboard phones?
2. If this is supposedly treated as an isolated quirk, how widespread is it really, and how many people here have pulled units out of the box only to watch the key edges flake away?
Let me know if you've run into this on your Elite or managed to find a clean fix for it!

So I highly recommend going into settings and turning off this setting for pinning the media player to the quick settings shade.
So I don't know if it bothers anyone else that out of the box with this phone if you pull down the quick settings menu you always have to do the gesture twice to be able to leave it, so if you turn off this Pin Media Player setting that won't happen anymore. Just something cool that I discovered that wasn't obvious (for me at least)

After getting my T2E a few weeks ago, I’ve been working on an app launcher called Tighten, and it’s finally available on Google Play. The main reason for this launcher is that I felt the Titan 2 Elite needed its own custom launcher designed around the shape and physical keyboard, not a typical tall layout launcher squeezed into a different shape. It's also meant to "Tighten" your screen time, showing usage statistics, but also allowing for quick access to recent/bookmarked apps.
On the Titan 2 Elite, the physical keys are part of how you navigate. In Tighten’s alphabetical app drawer, you can press a letter to jump straight to that group of apps. You can also tap or slide along the alphabet rail when you’re using the touchscreen. I'm sure you've seen this style before, but this is geared towards the T2E's square display shape. The idea is to make finding an app quick either way, without giving up the advantages of the keyboard.
The home screen puts favorites and recents within easy thumb reach, with columns you can scroll independently. It also shows screentime information in context, so you can notice how much time you’ve spent in an app without opening a separate dashboard. You can set daily app limits and choose your own screentime day resets, as not everybody goes to sleep before midnight.
I wanted it to feel personal without getting busy, so there are coordinated color themes, a super black option, fonts, wallpapers, and separate controls for text and icon sizing. Some features can bring useful context onto your home screen, such as your next calendar event, notification indicators, or fav audio apps when a bluetooth device connects. The permissions for those features are completely optional.
The free version is a complete launcher. Tighten Up is an optional $9.99 onetime upgrade that adds more favorites and deeper personalization and screentime controls. There are no ads, analytics, accounts, or cloud sync.
I’ve tested it on my own T2E. Please feel free to give it a try!

Ordered on August 19th and am glad it’s on the way! I’d love to hear what your favorite thing you’ve done to yours since getting it! Also, any tips on how to get it to work on Verizon services? Do I just put the sim card in when it’s on or does it need to be off?

We’ve been working really hard on the launch all week, and we’re so excited to share the product page with you! We’ve put lots of little details into it, and we hope you’ll have fun mixing and matching the modules to make your own MCase.
We’re still putting the finishing touches on a few things, including photographing the cases, so the product photos aren’t ready just yet.
If you’re happy to order before the photos are up, thank you for trusting us! We’ll ship orders in the order they’re placed. Shipping will be a little slower during the first couple of weeks as we get production up to speed. We’re a small studio with just a few pairs of hands, so thank you for bearing with us.
For everyone who signed up for updates, we’ll send out the official launch email over the next couple of days.
Thanks for following along and supporting what we do!

Hi, is there a way to remap one of the physical keys to expand the notification bar? I can't find that exact action...?

I know some of us or alot of us have come across this during our online browsing. A modest low range phone sold online. I've seen some videos for it and the cameras is atrocious and it's really more into the "dumb phone" niche or for older people. BUT I personally love the flip design. If unihertz could maybe do this in their Titan Lineup modeled after the 2 Elite with all the same specs, and camera etc. I would buy that in a HEATTBEAT. I really hope unihertz does this because they seem to be the best at niche phones and giving people options. Just manifesting this into the universe. Thanks!

Does anyone ever run into not being able to use the circle, square, or letter keys for shortcuts when viewing the home screen? I think it registers as typing in the "Search apps" field instead which prevents those shortcut keys from being pressed.
I also have Pastiera installed and wonder if that's causing it.
