Transcript: “First I practiced with Novak when I was ranked 500 or 600 in the world in Monaco. He was already number 1, just had won Wimbledon. I thought he wasn’t gonna speak to me because the guy was a GOAT for me. And I came there shy and didn’t speak. Then he was asking me questions and talking to me like a friend, and I was really surprised. It never changed since I was number 600 in the world or number 4 in the world, you are a great sport and a great person”
Probably my favorite ever trophy presentation speech, and really shows how respectful and kindly Djokovic has treated other players over the years regardless of his stature. Many other players have shared similar stories about Novak, like Francisco Cerúndolo as well.

Discussion The last time Zverev beat Djokovic (in a finished match) was now 5 years ago.

Had this thought in my head, then needed to check because I thought it couldn't possibly be But yes, other than an exhibition win I think sometime in 2023, Zverev has not been able to take the man out at all lately.
This is odd because Djokovic was crazy in 2021 when Zverev got 2 wins, but these last two matches of theirs, Djokovic has been nothing close to his 2021 days and Zverev has supposedly improved so much, so both results going Novak's way is .. crazy!
