Artificial Intelligence Anthropic CEO warns of AI-driven botnet 'swarm' taking over the entire internet — 'In 6–12 months such a swarm could be capable of taking over the entire internet with a persistent botnet'

We need Alt, and this is why the black wall was invented in CP2077

Yeah, the way Ai's and bots are spreading, we're gonna need something like Blackwall eventually.

I've been thinking up some scenarios for an irl black wall. One thing about it that stands out is how would we shield it from another wave of bots taking over? there's already a bunch of GPUs out in the wild that can run local LLMs, unless Nvidia secretly put in a remote dead switch to each GPU 🤣

Re-Federate the internet.

If it was structured as originally intended rather than everything going through virginia so they can spy on the world, you just stop talking to the the places where there are bots.

If there is one on your local town's network, you physically go there and remove it.

If the software is too complex to patch, stop using enshittified techbro nonsense and go back to something more basic.

If the next town over is full of bots, suddenly they can't buy anything from anywhere else in the country until they clean it up because their /8 or whatever the ipv6 version is is blocked.

But I guess instead we could ban things like matrix, regular fucking email, or fediverse to "protect the children", like we are now.

Uh... And how exactly are you going to figure out where are the bots?

To be clear, this is a rhetorical question, and even then it doesn't matter, because here's another problem: How do you know who is a bot in your own community? You can't. You can try, and maybe you'll catch 90% of shitty ChatGPT "pile of scrap" lazy harness ones, but the 10% will go through, and 1% of those will be well made enough to look like humans in writing patterns and behaviour.

10% of a million is 100000, and 1% of that is 1000, and there are WAAAAY more than a million bots out there right now, so even with my shitty overly optimistic numbers any "traditional" forum space would be absolutely fucked by bots.

I wish there was a simple solution for this, but there is no such thing, and pretending that it exists is not going to help anyone.

Edit: grammar, formatting, spelling

I'm picturing wild GPUs darting in and out of bushes like wild boar, gobbling up local LLMs

I like this thought.

It's possible it would require massive change to network protocols, for the firewall to work. As our current, or old net - would become infested and could not be salvage.

And of course, it's very likely that Blackwall itself would had to be an Ai or at least based on it, capable of countering anything trying to breakthrough ,  including the local modules.

Takes one to know, as the saying goes.

Literally everything you said is in cyberpunk

I think there's a good chance we fall into fragmented much smaller networks
