A QB away from being interesting

This team has some interesting pieces and could be pretty entertaining if we had a QB. Another stinker or two from Billy in ACC play and it’ll be time to see what O’Neill or Burgess have got.

He definitely had a lane and panicked. Im just ready for a complete overhaul. Its time to move on from BB and staff. I hope Carolina will get their $#¡+ together and hire someone who truly cares about Carolina.....

Yeah I hate to say it, but Billy is clueless and has no arm. If things the best we have this season is over.

You forgot win.  This is why unc sucks.  Belichick is the answer just no buy in.  How can you have an issue with a tight road loss at Clemson.  This is miles better.  QB id hot garbage.  Buy a better QB next year

Gotta let the freshman qb play soon or he will transfer. Look at Bryce baker at VT

This year was always about building up the foundation. We started better than people expected and expectations got silly.

Defense was still great today. Edwards just fell apart in a way you don’t see too often. Good qb play and we win by 3 scores.

Yeah agreed, interesting doesn’t necessarily equal good, its definitely a foundational year, that’s why i think finding out if a young QB can play is the move, the defense has the pieces for us to be an 8 or 9 win team

Burgess is the answer I think. But he’s still developing. Keep building. Spend in the off-season. You can see glimpses on the defense. Offense jumped out early which speaks to good coaching. Once Clemson adjusted, Edwards couldn’t adapt. He was awful.

Bill needs to make that change immediately if he wants to keep his job. Two resignations, a guncharge for a player and now an embarrassing collapse…….

I think the heels have been pretty interesting, not a college program with more drama except for maybe LSU

Interesting on the field would be cool

Throw Burgess out there and roll with the mistakes, just like Mack did with Sam Howell. Fans need something to cheer and care about. Rolling out a potentially good to great QB to generate excitement can do that. Will it always be pretty? Probably not, but if he looks competent, you have to roll with him.

Tell me you don't know belichick.  On the field for excitement?

The sad thing is that Bill ran off Gio Lopez. Don’t really know why he did not work out last year but he seems to be a very good (not great) quarterback.

Eh, i dont think Bill ran Gio off as much as it was probably mutual, he was given every opportunity and just didn’t perform. In fairness to Gio he was screwed significantly by having Freddie Kitchens as his OC, who was already widely known as a dogshit coach/coordinator BEFORE being dogshit yet again at UNC.

Billy was Wake Forest’s fifth string QB for a reason!

No need to wait for another $#¡+ show. The time is now to make the change. Horrendous play today....

Oh i agree with ya, but we saw Bill’s commitment to Gio last year… (side not, hate that there is a generation of fans now where “Gio” means Lopez, not the legend Gio Bernard)

Shut up. Look at the talent discrepancy. We had no business being in this game. Let UNC keep pulling in classes.

Clemson isn’t pulling the classes or talent they used to. They still have more than Carolina, but UNC lost today due to terrible QB play and late defensive collapse. They controlled the entire first half and moved the ball at will on the ground. They won the trenches on offense time and time again. Let’s not pretend Carolina was outclassed by a more talented team because that clearly wasn’t the case. Clemson will be lucky to go 8-4 in this terrible conference.

Literally one play away.  Multiple times

I just have to say Billy Edwards SUCKS. Anybody backing him is coping.

He doesn’t see the field. Completely misses wide open receivers because he only looks at his first read and forces it in there if they’re covered. Even if they’re open he throws a ball that’s uncatchable, either at a million miles per hour or completely off target. He makes our offense one dimensional which clemson picked up on after the first quarter.

We need a change against notre dame or bill is completely unserious about this program.

Just maybe he's better than the other guys.  But yeah he sucks.  You still run out the guy that gives you the best chance to win next week.  Problem is it's probably Billy

Good thing is QB can and should be one of the final pieces.  Good QB bad everything else you need does nothing.  Weve seen this several times.   They need to build up then drop in a $5million QB and were there.  Belichick doesn't even want a gunslinger.   He can probably find the qb he wants on the relative cheoap cause he wants to win with the running game and defense and special teams.  Unc fans kinda suck.  So much belichick hate.  The man will coach them up

Thats how NFL roster construction works, sure. With the transfer portal you can change an entire roster in a single offseason, the “build up” and getting the right qb in there can, and should, happen at basically the same time, or you’re just wasting resources and eligibility. Bill has gone cheap transfer portal vet twice now with Gio Lopez and Billy Edwards Jr, and neither have been worth it. At this point you either gotta start letting a young guy get some in game development or be committed to spending big next offseason to secure a stud. I think Belichick is fine and can win, but honestly the level of QB play can make an even bigger difference in CFB than it does in the NFL, because when its bad in CFB its really bad. Look at Iowa for an example of what Bill will turn out if he cant find a QB. Several elite defenses in the past couple years without much to show for it because the QB play has been so bad.

I'm not sure it's all that different than NFL because limited money.  It's about allocation of money within a team.  Even if you spend top dollar on a QB it's useless because the rest of the team is weak.  I think belichick has it right in allocation.  D line has shown up.  O line been more than solid.  Defense is there mostly.  Running game dominant yesterday.

Yeah you want to try a kid at QB but a good season is really really important for continuity and you recruit over that kid even if hes the next coming.  Coach wants no mistakes no negative plays.  Really tough spot to run out a HS QB and for him to be successful. He needs those mistakes to learn.

Just got to ride with coach and let him cook.  Would help if the administration would leave him alone.  But would help if he werent a jerk.
