How do you track down a pervert? (CW: sexual abuse) NSFW
Obviously it's a long-shot, but maybe you can give me some ideas about where to look.
I was abused by a man in a local public pool 23 years ago. It's always been a regret of mine that I was too embarrassed to say anything because the water park is still such a popular place for families to bring kids. The reason it sticks with me is because even as a child, it was clear to me from how brazen and methodical the guy was that this was something he regularly did. With the wisdom of age, it's even more obvious: he was an adult paddling around by himself in the kids section, chatting up random children.
I remember him pretty clearly, and strongly believe this location was a hunting ground for him and that there were others besides me. A quick internet search turned up one similar case at a different public pool in the area, but I see no evidence it's actually connected.
On my end, there is no expectation of closure or certainty. All the same, I feel like I should check it out at least once.

Well here is a case for comparison. Essentially they know this guy has been raping kids for 26 years. He gets picked up and is out on bail right away (twice).

Details, as many as comfortably providable, when, where, what, why, how...
Online people can always help piece things together, but it contributes very little without real authority involvement. They (cops) may not be helpful in the sense you may expect but it gives this a purpose.
Also be aware even if enough evidence is gathered on your or the internets end, it does not give you the right of accusations or public claims, should be obvious but it is important to remember.

Step 1. Get a sketch artist to draw an image from what you remember.
Step 2. Make a list of things you remember about the perp. Items, behavior, distinct marks, accent, speaking behavior too.
Step 3. File a police complaint. It's important to loop authorities in on it.
Step 4. Search public databases with the clues you have. Or hire a private investigator to find him. 50-50 chance he's already been convicted
From here we're getting a bit risky so be extremely cautious.
Step 5. Steak out the water park. Pick the times where most kids would visit the park (ironic). Remember to carry protection or go in group.
Step 6. Do not engage. Make note of observations and report him when you have something conclusive.
Step 7. If you didn't find anything conclusive, get his license number and vin code or whatever it's called. Hand it to the police. This should be enough because repeat offense pedo would have trophies so some kind and a mobile van or car would be most likely where they hide it.
Stay safe and good luck! (if anyone wants to add something to this please don't hesitate to reply)

Hello!
I read your story and I have interest in finding out who the predator is. You Saud that a similar case happened in your area. You said that you see no evidence but doing some check on that guy could make us sure. It also depends on timeline of the incident. Can you remember when this incident happened and when happened that incident you found on internet?
I will be waiting for your answer Bye!

So anyway I guess the best place to start would be to go to the local police department and get something on file. That way if they end up building a case you might be able to contribute. If they have some info they could share it with you. A lot of info they have to release with an official records request.
