Anyone get an email from slate about signing up for the demo in Detroit?

I am hoping that Slate will give us the option of having a gas powered vehicle with the option of having a manual transmission.
Do you think they will?
Edit: thank you to those who has genuine nice answers, even if the answer was something I didn't want to hear. To the trolls and those being sarcastic and/or using the sting of truth to be mean.. Please take a break from social media, drink some water, do some light stretching, and practice a hobby! I was simply asking a question. No need to insult my intelligence lol

Long term Maverick Hybrid reviewer said: "I recently drove the electric Slate Truck and was ... not impressed. Why would you get some bare-bones electric truck when you could pick up a Maverick for not much more? Or, better still, a slightly used Maverick that's full of features and costs the same as the electric Slate?" β Steven Ewing

Slate just launched The Collective, an official program that lets independent makers and accessory manufacturers sell directly through Slate's own marketplace. Think of it like an app store, but for Slate truck accessories. Third party creators can apply, get approved, and have their products integrated directly into the customer purchase experience alongside the truck itself.
Here is what makes this significant. Approved makers get access to vehicle CAD data, fitment information, and even physical access to Slate vehicles in Troy, MI and Gardena, CA to prototype and validate their products. You set your own pricing, you retain your intellectual property, and your products go live inside Slate's e-commerce platform at start of production. Slate takes a marketplace fee per item sold.
To qualify you need a valid EIN and you need to be in the business of designing, developing, and manufacturing vehicle accessories. The program is open now and the accessory rollout ties directly to the 2026 start of production with continuous launches planned through 2027 and beyond.
For anyone building in the Slate aftermarket space, this is the most direct path to getting your product in front of every Slate buyer from day one.

Question for people who have December Reservations, when will they be receiving info on how they would like to purchase the car and more information.
December is right around the corner :)

The maker now lists 3 body styles, the Blank Slate, and Squareback and Fastback SUVs. Each has the price listed. I sent an email question and got this response; "Good question! The price shown in the Maker is for the SUV kit fully installed, ready to go, not a Blank Slate plus a separate kit to install later. Pricing includes installation." So fully assembled SUVs from the factory. I hope they do the same with the Lifted/Lowered option.

Slate recently went live on the RepairPal network, and already some of the approved shops in that network are receiving official Authorized Slate Service stickers directly from Slate. For a brand with no dealerships, building out a recognizable and trusted service identity at the shop level is a smart move. It gives the network a physical presence and makes it easy for owners to identify.

I've been curious how much storage space there is behind the seats (in the truck cab) when the seat rails are all the way back?
Just thinking about things that wouldn't work as well in the frunk... A gym mat for example, picking up a bunch of dry cleaning on hangers, etc... Maybe even a small sub wedged-shaped box?

It breaks the paradigm:
You want simple? Drive vintage, preferably 1990s or earlier. Try to keep it running as well as you can, always fighting the rust monster and searching for rare parts.
You want "the best"? Drive the latest and greatest, damn the cost and future expensive breakdowns in the infotainment and power accessories, full speed ahead!
If it becomes a trend and lots of other companies release a "charcoal" me-too copycat truck or car like Slate, it makes vintage cars obsolete. My first car was a 1971 with a 350 V8 but only 250 hp. Certainly Slate (and other EVs) will be faster 0-60. Without modern infotainment and power accessories it should be more simple and repairable than my old muscle car.
Welp there goes the appeal of vintage cars. Why bother when you can buy a new one that's almost as simple and easy to fix, but more reliable because it's built from new parts? No more lucrative videos on YouTube about some cool vintage GTO or whatever. Prices crash.
Latest and greatest? If lots of companies "me too" Slate, auto-everything expensive luxury and sports cars will look as stupid and unfashionable as neon 1990s fashions. Oops no more lucrative videos about the latest and greatest "smart car" that costs multiple hundreds of thousands.
Look at Demuro's YouTube channel. It's vintage or very expensive new cars. When Slate comes up it's "It will FAIL!!" Of course he would say that.

I currently drive an old car that predates the privacy nightmare that modern cars have become. I am going to have to replace my current car someday and I am glad that I can get a Slate without a telematics module.

The ride was short but I did have a few impressions. The ride was quiet, we turned off the AC and went over some small bumps, and the truck felt solid with no rattles. The AC worked great, and the acceleration was pretty good. The braking with the OPD was smooth. I was surprised with how roomy it was with a little storage space behind the seats. I know, no new revelations here, but wanted to share while it was fresh.

I love Monster Jam, and think its really great for Slate to be doing collabs early on to attract more potential customers. But this was not a big announcement by any means, there is plenty of other information that would've been way bigger. Slate University, Slate App Launch, updated pre-order count, any new information about delivery windows or purchasing process.

Been waiting for the Chicago one. Looks like by a now abandoned Tesla Showroom. The area is not bad for test drives. Really close to downtown but not a lot of traffic. Probably pretty good for PR. https://www.slate.auto/en/events
