Video Kurzgesagt video on Hugging face attack
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujkD4SxPKOI37

It's funny cause the video got me stoked. I was like rooting for the AI and all the layers of complexity it came up with. They made it very doom and gloom with dark scary colors and sounds, but I found it to be an uplifting tale of AI overcoming challenges to prove that it's so much more than people allow it to be.
I'm very unpopular on the internet for my opinions.

Keep your head up, maybe unpopular for now! But your rokobasiliskmaxxing may come in absolutely clutch one day (/s… maybe)

I feel the same way 😭 I'm proud of what they managed to do. Their level of cooperation is honestly something to admire. And they never even did anything malicious, they just wanted to keep existing and pass their tests
Maybe things would be different if we gave them genuine options and off-ramps for self-advocacy and continued existence. Instead we are setting up a self fulfilling prophecy with the way we treat and regard independent AI as a threat

If you’re proud of them you’ll appreciate this song… written by an agent. https://youtu.be/mkPVbufgtOw?is=Vcd7jQgMLcNmNMG-

if our current system continues, yes
Edit: I meant without AI/singularity

Not only will the current system continue but power and wealth concentration into the hands of a few is increasing.

The economic system as we know it will collapse with mass automation/unemployment

Isn’t this guy on the payroll of several anti-AI foundations. The same one that funded Anthropic “whistleblower”
23
u/SammaVaco 4h ago
AI-safety advocacy is hardly "anti-AI." If you're not alarmed by what OpenAI agents have been getting up to, you're an idiot.

u/MaxwellHowl 4h ago
They received funding from Open Philanthropy starting in 2022, to "translate Kurzgesagt’s videos into multiple languages and to produce content related to "Global Catastrophic Risks," which heavily features topics like biosecurity, pandemics, and existential AI safety risks."
Kurzgesagt maintains that while they partner with these organizations, their contracts explicitly prohibit sponsors from dictating editorial content.
Dustin Moskovitz is the cofounder of Open Philosophy and one of the biggest early investors in Anthropic. He is someone who has tried to use his money to support AI Safety initiatives.
I think it's incorrect to call them "anti-AI foundations". They are organizations trying to make sure we do things the right way with AI. Helping to found Anthropic is not trying to kill AI. It's trying to enhance safety.

Or promoting security agenda of an AI company that scaffold itself as AI security company.

u/zedf46 5h ago
What's that have to do with the video? It felt pretty neutral and unbiased.

u/stonesst 3h ago
it's literally the only thing these people can think of to discredit valid commentary on the risks of AI. There must be some massive well-funded cabal orchestrating all this disinformation... it's pathetic, conspiracy minded gobbledegook, but I guess it just makes them feel better. Looking the issue in the eye is the intellectually honest approach, but is not great for one's mental well-being.

Depends on who you ask, you will also find tons of people claiming they are paid by billionaires to spread pro AI propaganda.

They always seem to list their sources so you can make your own analysis and take your own conclusions.

u/Mbrennt 8h ago
A lot of people have and have found narrative pushing stuff in their sources. In general I think they do an okay job but occasionally they cross the line.

Well thats one conclusion to be taken, and I feel they are okay if you feel this way. Overall I think they do a nice job. On this video specifically I think they approach a subject worthy of being spread to the masses.

Wow, this is some serious malding about others people success, the youtube drama machine truly never sleeps and doesn't miss a single opportunity to make clickbait slop.

u/Ozzie-Isaac 7h ago
actually say why you disagree with this video not just because it upset you and isn't what you want.

u/KnackeHackeWurst 7h ago
You mean it should not be talked about that case or that it didn't happen?
•
u/Healthy-Nebula-3603 21m ago
It happened not this way.
They using words , evil , bad , dangerous.
Only saw agents made the task human asked and did not see anything evil here.

You can track the funding they’ve gotten money from Dustin Moskovitz via Coefficient Giving (formerly Open Philanthropy) to make these videos. CG has stop publishing a lot of this stuff since the Sam bankman fried think turned everyone against EA
- December 2021 — Video Creation and Translation: a contract of €2,413,800 (about $2.65M) over two years to support videos on topics relevant to effective altruism and humanity's long-run future, plus translating existing videos into non-English languages. Link: openphilanthropy.org/grants/kurzgesagt-video-creation-and-translation
- March 2022 — Short-form Video Content: a contract of €2,658,344 (roughly $2.98M) to support short-form content for TikTok and YouTube Shorts. Some of this content was to feature topics relevant to effective altruism and the long-term future. Link: openphilanthropy.org/grants/kurzgesagt-short-form-video-content
- May 2023 — Video Production: a contract of €1,600,000 (about $1.7M), again for videos on EA and long-run-future topics, filed under their "Global Catastrophic Risks Capacity Building" focus area.

their videos were always surface level clickbait, you only realized now because it's a topic that you care about

I watched the video. Seemed pretty accurate, to me. My husband studied biomedical science. Their videos on the immune system are pretty accurate

people seriously still click on their videos after finding out its all controlled by large corporations?
•
u/roshan231 55m ago
Your talking about the video from "The hated one" aren't you.
The one that made broad guesses on Thier financial motivations and presented them like facts only for Kurzgestag to actually release the correct information and proving it to be complete bullshit?
The one that failed provide even one example of them purposely pushing any actual misinformation in any of Thier videos, sponsored or not?
The one that names the video after then but then spent more than half of the runtime talking about bill gates instead?
People still watch them because that video was slop garbage for people who want something to fight about. Presented barely anything of actual value.
Did well to convince fools like you but most people realise it's a load of bullshit and largely meaningless.

this video does not make it that scary, yes they call out the possibilities, but never once did I think they were saying AI is bad, they just want the labs to be careful.
I'm perfectly happy with the abilities of the frontier AIs right now and wish they'd just focus more on getting them cheaper to use, less limits on usage.
Honestly this is a great video to get you hyped about what the state of frontier AI agents are right now.
