Rest In Peace Shadow
Shadow was everything to me. He was abandoned by his mother at 3 days old, I took him in & bottle fed him until he was old enough to eat, he continued to follow me around hence his name, I ended up taking him in full time. He was the sweetest, most peaceful cat ever, the nicest cat I've ever met, he's been with me basically my whole adult life up until this point.. 4 different houses, several different relationships, several jobs, several vehicles.. Shadow was the only stable consistent thing in my life & now he's gone. I don't know what to do with myself, I figured writing this & honoring his memory will help me grieve, if only a little. I love you & miss you.

Shadow truly sounds like your once-in-a-lifetime cat. You saved him when he was only 3 days old, but it also sounds like he spent the rest of his life giving that love right back to you. Through different homes, relationships, jobs, cars, and all the changes life brought, he was your constant.
Losing that kind of companion leaves an enormous emptiness because you’re not only grieving your cat—you’re grieving the little soul who shared almost your entire adult life with you.
I hope writing about him and sharing his story brings you even a tiny bit of comfort. Shadow knew love from the moment you picked up that tiny bottle to feed him until his very last days. What a beautiful life you gave each other. Rest peacefully, sweet Shadow. 🖤🌈

I am so sorry for your loss. Shadow was handsome boy. I had black cat his name was Flick. I hope Flick is there to welcome Shadow. I do have two other kitties that have crossed over. Bo and Lela but they are not as interested to make friends. It is so hard when you lose them. You loved Shadow with your whole heart and he knew that.

I'm so sorry he has slipped away where you cannot see him. But he left behind piles of love, all that love you shared. And how you were reshaped by this love from kittenhood rescue through all your life changes is the roadmap for moving forward too.
You both did so good at the work of loving and supporting each other. May he visit you often in dreams, may you hold him close, smell his fur, touch his toe beans. And may you remember, and feel consoled.

I am very sorry for your loss. When our Shadow passed it was so heartbreaking, he was so cool and mellow. Was your Shadow like that? My Shadow and your Shadow are happy in Heaven. I love Black Cats!
