Baby Floof Worried about one of my newly adopted boys
Just picked up two adorable babies yesterday and I am feeling overwhelmed in so many ways but also slightly worried. One of them is very, very small; his record states that just a week ago he was barely over one pound. He was born on July 3 and from what research I've done that weight seems to skew low for a kitten of his age. He is also extremely lethargic and barely eats.
I was actually supposed to adopt his sister but she ended up suddenly passing with seemingly no warning about two weeks ago so I guess that has made me a little paranoid. I spent most of last night up watching him, making sure he was still breathing... Today he seems a little better. Roaming around a little bit more and eating when his brother eats, more or less. But most of the time he just sits and stares into nothing. He doesn't even lie down, he just sits hunched over and stares. He barely reacts to noises or motion; I was vacuuming earlier and he only moved from his spot when I nudged him. My brother came over to see the little ones and he didn't move a muscle, even as my brother approached and bent down to pet him. I can't tell if he's just super chill or if something is wrong.
Thankfully, they are both pretty affectionate. The little one doesn't force his head into my hands like his brother does, but he does follow me around to be in my vicinity whenever I'm out of sight and he doesn't protest when I pick him up so I guess (hope?) he doesn't hate me...
I'm going to the vet tomorrow for his checkup so I guess most of my fears will, hopefully, be put to rest but I guess I'd just like some reassurance to see if anyone has had any small ragdoll kittens like mine that ended up being perfectly fine.
