Since there is no tool like this, I made a tool where you can turn any photo / image into emoji art, similar to ASCII art. It's completely free to use, no sign up, no watermarks, no nothing. Just easy emoji art. You can copy the result directly, or download it as a .png. Feel free to use, and tell me your oppinion.

Best regards

Ripolas

i made my own tile system with each sprite being 4x4 pixels in size. the sprite folder is only 2.6 kB yet it takes soooo long (around 6 seconds) just to change Pac Man's sprite. I am not pursuing this project no more

p5js I built a p5.js editor for Android — EDIT:KIRO

I just finished EDIT:KIRO, a p5.js editor built for Android.

The whole creative workflow can be done right on your phone:

Code → Preview → Capture

It also supports custom fonts and font ligatures, and the UI has been carefully optimized for both portrait and landscape orientations.

I’m planning to make the GitHub repository public by tomorrow at the latest.

It’ll be completely open source, so if you’re into p5.js, creative coding, or generative art, I’d love for you to give it a try and let me know what you think.

p5js Built a lightweight Processing to p5.js transpiler, looking for real-world sketch edge cases

Hi everyone,
I built a small project called p5forge that transpiles Processing-style code to p5.js in the browser.

It is not a full Java compiler, it is a practical converter for common sketch patterns:

  • Java-like declarations and methods
  • enhanced for loops
  • common Processing to p5 mappings
  • browser preview with quick Run and Stop

I would love feedback from people with older Processing sketches:

  • Which features break first in your projects?
  • Which Processing APIs are must-have for compatibility?
  • Would a small compatibility matrix be useful?

Demo: [https://oth-aw-meiller.github.io/p5forge/](vscode-file://vscode-app/Applications/Visual%20Studio%20Code.app/Contents/Resources/app/out/vs/code/electron-browser/workbench/workbench.html)
Repo: https://github.com/OTH-AW-Meiller/p5forge

Thanks, I am especially interested in real sketch examples that currently fail.

p5js My new website made with processing from scratch

Hi everybody:) I just uploaded a simulation I built with processing to help students visualize radiation from antennas.

Will love to get some feedback!

Like to website:

https://www.antennasim.com

Link to GitHub project:

https://github.com/rotemTsafrir/dipole_sim

Extra information:

The simulation shows time-harmonic fields and allows: • Adding multiple dipole antennas

• Setting phase and frequency per antenna

• Visualizing E-field, B-field, and Poynting vector

• Seeing near-field and far-field interactions

All antennas lie in the same plane. In that plane:

• The E-field lies in-plane

• The B-field is perpendicular to the plane

For now the simulation only models wire, center fed dipoles antennas but I will probably add more options soon

p5js P5paint Tool for Processing

Post image

Hi, so I really enjoy making fun sketches and games in processing/p5js and I mostly don’t use textures but instead use all those nice 2D geometry to create my content. But although that’s fun to do so, it’s also tedious sometimes. Starting the sketch, take a look, stop the sketch, fix the geometry, start the sketch again, look, fix, start…. You get the picture. So for all of you who “struggle” with that same problem: I made a tool for that. It basically allows you to create and manipulate processing 2D geometry save/load them and generate the processing code to include them into your sketch. It still a very basic start but I’m happy for now and will use this in my next project. I hope some of you will also find this useful and will have fun sketching along. Feel free to create issues and give feedback. I chose python mode because it’s very beginner friendly and can easily be converted to js/java (basically add semicolons).

p5js P5paint Update

Hello there,

so I got a lot of positive feedback last time, and this project is also quite fun for me, so here is a small update.

I added some smaller QoL features to this tool but what’s mostly helping me out lately is the ability to be able to rotate, scale, move and resize only parts of a shape. That allows to easily edit shapes without having to reposition everything single vertex.

But for the future, this tool brings me a lot of joy while doing my processing projects and developing this tool itself is also quite fun. I started this as a small quick tool without thinking a lot of it, but as things are going now, I am planning on refactoring this into a way more usable version. I will save the current state as a version 1 for everyone to use forever and the next update will drastically change the UI and base code structure. However, license wise this will continue to be fully free for everyone. Some features I want to include are different export formats including: svg, jpg, png, gif, processing-java-mode, processing-python-mode, p5-JavaScript, p5-Python and wpf-xaml; also an undo/redo feature, layers, combined geometry, child-objects, a bigger canvas, rulers and some different tools like selection drawing filling etc., a preview mode and a print option. After that I am planning to further optimize the shape editing to allow curves and subshapes.

I hope people are continuing to have as much fun with this tool as I have and for everyone who didn’t catch it last time, here is the link again: https://github.com/derDere/P5paint

p5js Evolve processing animations using AI

Hello good people

I built something fun I'd like to share:

https://douwe.com/projects/processing_evolved

As you can see it starts out with a simple red block rendered using processing. Underneath it sits an chatgpt style prompt. You an enter instructions on how to change what you see. The AI will create a new processing program for you. You can also see what other people have done by just following the arrows back and forth. At some point you can get to something crazy like:

Just looking for freedback
