Good time to remind people that CORCA passed the House. That gives ICE authority to arrest shoplifters regardless of whether they are immigrants. More people are going to be getting disappeared in the near future.

Shaking my head. We need to elect a Congress that will put a stop to all if this

We need the same energy in the democratic primaries otherwise you will just get mainstream dems who will declare victory at cutting the budget in half for an agency that 20x it budget which means after celebrating the agency will still be 10x

39

u/icemanpallmall 9h ago

How long before they start detaining american democrats for random crimes?

37

u/rubberpp 8h ago

A year ago? The ones they decided not to execute of course.

•

u/bagoink 5h ago

They already started doing that for non-crimes.

•

u/tripping_on_phonics California 5h ago

Why are Democrats voting for this shit? This had bipartisan support and hundreds of Democratic votes.

u/JaronJervis 12h ago

It's clear ICE will never gain any trust of the majority of the American public. They are viewed with more disdain than Big city police departments or even small city precincts. This untrained goon squad of low IQ dipshits better enjoy their jackboot era, because the next Democrat president will bring it to an end, and work to abolish ICE completely, or this country is going to war.

37

u/CategoryZestyclose91 11h ago

That’s because ICE agents are domestic terrorists and a danger to the public.

91

u/NelsonHawkinsGhost 11h ago

So the plan is to wait through 2 more years of them inflicting violence on vulnerable groups in the hopes that a democratic president performs an action democratic candidates today aren't even considering?

55

u/JaronJervis 11h ago

I think however ICE agents acted before Trump no longer matters, they can never be trusted to be on the streets, there is nothing any Democrat can do to sanitize the image of these people. So what else is there to do? Other than cut their ridiculous funding, and put their agents at borders and airports where they belong, and no other place. I think the Democrats will at least pull ICE goons off the streets. Then we can work on abolition.

25

u/Mysterious_Floor_868 United Kingdom 11h ago

Other than cut their ridiculous funding

That would be a start, couldn't the Democrats do that if they win in November?

12

u/MasterofPandas1 9h ago

They could cut the budget in a reconciliation bill, but the chances of Trump signing it are slim and they probably won’t have a veto proof majority. Still worth trying if they win though.

•

u/SpoogeMagoo65 6h ago

They wouldn't have veto support right now. After the midterms when Trump is truly a lame duck, and more incidents with ICE killing and maiming citizens and immigrants alike maybe. Make no mistake they have been told to fly under the radar before midterms, those thugs are really going to let loose after November.

3

u/Into-Imagination 8h ago

Not without a veto proof (2/3 House and Senate) majority, which is not happening.

4

u/steemSTEM 10h ago

They can cut funding if any is appropriated by congress but beyond that since ICE is under the control of the executive branch, they can't do anything to pull them from the streets.

2

u/JakeConhale New Hampshire 9h ago

They could for the next budget, not the current one.

1

u/fordat1 8h ago

there is nothing any Democrat can do to sanitize the image of these people

You sure about that after WaPo, Atlantic, NYT / Ezra Klein, and rest of mainstream liberal media do their rehabilitation?

Oh and dont forget all the political consultants who will tell the dem politicians they cant cut the budget because if they do the GOP will say X if an immigrant does y

9

u/Sparker273 8h ago

Don't forget the concentration camp. Nothing is being done about them.

•

u/solonoctus 2h ago

I swear to Christ if I hear one more dem talk about “reigning in” ICE as opposed to dismantling them completely and prosecuting the entire org.

They’re toothless fucking idiots for not seeing then for what they are.

•

u/Equivalent-Field4130 7h ago

I believe these are the brownshirts. The next step would be to create Trump’s SS

•

u/Chu_Kiddin_Me_Or_Wha 1h ago

This is chess, not checkers.

•

u/NelsonHawkinsGhost 1h ago

What does that mean? We're over a decade into ICE doing horrific shit. It's like some of you memory-holed 2018.

6

u/Stranger-Sun 9h ago

How about locking them up once the feds are no longer protecting them?

3

u/shartoftheinternet 9h ago

Try going to your typical low IQ rural white district.

8

u/arrrrrffffff 11h ago

the next Democrat[ic] president...

This dictatorship is entrenched so how many decades are you willing to wait for that to happen?

•

u/SomeWeedSmoker 3h ago

Hahaha or this country is going to war? With what exactly?

•

u/PopBulky7023 1h ago

This was the attitude of the north when we fought against the slaver invasions of the south. Even then, we were far too soft.

We don't have an ounce of that spirit now. Too fractured, atomized and polite.

1

u/DocXom 9h ago

If nobody has done shit yet, nothing is going to happen until the great collapse

•

u/everything_is_bad 5h ago

It’s looks less and less likely that people are willing to do anything to address this besides voting for centrist democrats

-1

u/soulstormfire Europe 10h ago

Lol. Disdain. That'll show them.

-11

u/idontevenliftbrah 11h ago

On a single day last month, a U.S. citizen and a noncitizen were violently targeted by federal immigration agents. A Black man in Evanston, Illinois, was left injured and bleeding by the side of the road after a group of ICE officers, mistaking him for an immigrant “fugitive” threw him to the ground and handcuffed him. A few hours later, in Austin, Texas, an ICE officer shot a Venezuelan delivery driver in the back.

“Almost as alarming as the incidents themselves has been the government’s refusal to acknowledge a pattern of abuse that is clearly metastasizing at the Department of Homeland Security,” Jonathan Blitzer writes. Since Donald Trump took office last year, agents from D.H.S. have shot at more than two dozen people in the United States, killing six of them. And no ICE officer has been federally charged in any of these killings. Instead, the agency has made a habit of casting blame on the people it has appeared to victimize, accusing individuals trying to escape arrest of “assaulting” officers. Blitzer considers ICE’s continued violent presence in America: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2026/10/12/ice-is-everywhere-and-acting-with-impunity

Renee Good was murdered by an ICE agent 9 months ago and no charges have been made against the agent. The murder was recorded on video from multiple angles and the videos are publicly available.

The trump administration has literally said that ICE agents can do whatever they want. trump's DoJ will never file charges against the agent who murdered Renee Good.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minnesota_ICE_shootings

trump himself in 2024 promised Americans that if they elected him president again then he would rule them as their dictator.

27

u/New_Ad3443 10h ago

ICE is MAGA private army at this point and it's disgusting.

21

u/Kyrthis 11h ago

Redcoats. Fucking traitors to the Constitution.

15

u/abgry_krakow87 10h ago

Religious conservatives have no concern for law and order. Only cruelty and chaos.

12

u/AmazingRefrigerator4 11h ago

ICE is probably ramping up so they can incite some sort of event that will allow Trump to declare an emergency and halt the midterms.

10

u/USDXBS 11h ago

If only some sort of honorable people swore an oath to defend against domestic enemies.

•

u/izzythefarmergirl 4h ago

They took the oath, however they also voted for him and consider us the domestic enemy (those who won’t gargle on donnie’s balls)

8

u/sentientmeatpopsicle 10h ago

I keep wondering why we allow brownshirts in the USA.

10

u/LightBeerOnIce 9h ago

Who remembers reading history around WWII and Hitler and Nazism rise? Remember how we wondered why did the population not interfere, not intervene? Remember? We are the citizens now.

9

u/Tiny_Structure_7 North Carolina 12h ago

Trump's DOJ is only concerned with covering up all these terrorist ICE murders, and launching cases against Trump's political enemies, and launching performative harassment prosecutions of protesters and innocent people accused of damaging the deflecting pool which Trump fucked up with his no-bid incompetence. This should disgust and alarm all Americans. Until we get to fire these fascist, corrupt Republicans, we need lawyers to step up and sue ICE and DOJ for these egregious crimes.

Republicans have turned USA into Russia with all the corruption and state sponsored murder, while their voters cheer the racist violence they perpetrate. We need for ALL voters to show up and re-take our congress, and again in 2 years re-take our Whitehouse. Then we need to re-take our SCOTUS from these evil Republican hacks on the bench.

Please vote as if all our lives depend on it, and as if Republicans believe they will get a $5,000 check for winning.

28

u/Personal-Pudding6016 12h ago

Sadly, very people care. Once in awhile, a MAGA type will be upset their partner has been detained. But that's it.

22

u/supercyberlurker 12h ago

I'm more cynical than that.. I know.. knew.. people personally who see all this and like it. They think immigration is the biggest problem in the us, "won't be talked down to that its otherwise!" They're fully mask off about liking what ICE is doing.. and that's that. So they do care, but in the direction of liking the flavor of the haterade.

I think more people care than are evil, but the people who care need to Vote that they care.

•

u/bakerfredricka I voted 6h ago

I'm absolutely going to vote accordingly next month and in 2028!

10

u/LowRevolution5930 12h ago

I think you a word

7

u/aquablue_phoenix 10h ago

So why has the news stopped reporting about it. I know why, but this should still be a big fucking deal to everyone.

8

u/curiousthoughts20 America 11h ago

The US is capable of doing so much better than we have been in the last two years. There is zero reason for the abusive practices being employed by ICE. This is nothing more than a flex by Trump who is a wannabe strongman dictator.

Hopefully the next administration will put in place policies that prevent the blatant abuse and overreach by police agencies like ICE.

2

u/NelsonHawkinsGhost 11h ago

We're decades into them not being reined in.. why would it change?

3

u/[deleted] 9h ago

1

u/NelsonHawkinsGhost 9h ago

They don't care so long as it's quiet and the victims don't match the audience.. that's all they had to quiet down for the machine to keep blowing through communities.

•

u/PopBulky7023 1h ago

Those policies better include mass day one arrests of ice and dhs.

6

u/Button-Down-Shoes 11h ago

Shows how inept Dem leadership is. Schumer & Co. should be shouting from the rooftops over the dystopia that’s being smashed upon us, but not crickets. Fuck them and get us someone who cares about THIS country.

4

u/steemSTEM 10h ago

That's what the primaries were for, and yet everyone voted for a bunch of incumbents. If they are in power now they are in on it...

Republicans have got to go, but so too does Schumer and his cronies.

•

u/PopBulky7023 1h ago

They're not inept, they just don't work for you.

2

u/Downtown_Ratio_603 10h ago

Nobody to stop them until mid terms.

•

u/uninspired-86 6h ago

And Americans are letting them.

6

u/earhere 11h ago

If you think a democratic administration is going to hold these ghouls accountable, they aren't. The democratic party leadership can't be bothered with supporting slightly leftist Sanders-Esque candidates all because they don't support Israel. At this point, the entire system needs to be torn down and rebuilt, and I don't see that happening

2

u/Few_Personality_990 10h ago

Americans are nowhere to be seen and acting with... Well not acting at all

u/Human_Not_Robot_2023 8h ago

We want freedom by any means necessary. We want justice by any means necessary. We want equality by any means necessary. - Malcolm X

Your Silence Will Not Protect You. - Audre Lorde

One day it will be up to the people to stop the oppression. You can't simply ask your abusers to stop abusing. Fascism is not something that simply gets voted away. It takes root; it is cancer.

•

u/CranberrySchnapps Maryland 6h ago

They are going to scatter to the wind at the end of Trump's term.

•

u/eeyore134 6h ago

Because they have it. They're literally only accountable to themselves according to our government. The only way they'll be held to account is if someone else steps in.

•

u/StormyPassages 4h ago

November's blue wave will end the ICE murders, rapes and concentration camp violence, because both Democrats and Republicans need constitutional immigration reform to occur as the humanitarian situation is breaking down.

•

u/superkeer Virginia 3h ago

It's pretty clear that ICE learned the most from what happened in Minnesota.

They're accomplishing all of their goals quite easily now. No more pesky spotlights and community protests.

💀🪦💔

•

u/DoomPurveyor 2h ago edited 2h ago

This is what keeps me up at night and why I can't get accrue any hopium from the polls

This has been plan from the getgo. ICE literally getting away with murder! What is stopping them from mogging every swing district in sight (thanks for funding them congress/senate RIP Democracy).

•

u/FlanneryODostoevsky 7h ago

They do have impunity. People in America would rather call people idiots than try to compose a winning argument and convince people who think differently from them.

-3

u/Temporary_Heron6944 11h ago

Ok so what are we going to do about it? Post angry comments? This is the government we signed up for. Enjoy!

•

u/Lappora 6h ago

Thank you for protecting us, ICE. I feel so much safer and less worried about my family.

•

u/StormyPassages 4h ago

What asshole programmed you to write that?

-16

u/Vandal044 11h ago

Thus was the only thing that made me want that orange idiot, even though I ultimately didn’t. Immigration here has been outta hand and I’m actually happy it’s being enforced.

7

u/primorandom 9h ago

Ice has killed American citizens, deported immigrants to countries they've never been before, beaten up legal U.S citizens and dumped their bodies once they were done just because they were brown, changed laws where once legal immigrants just seeking asylum has been made illegal and now they're being mass deported... How could you say Trump is handling this well? It's modern day nazism.

9

u/kidsinthehall 10h ago

What a fucking brain dead take. Goddamn. Fascism isn't the cure to immigration.
