Since becoming president again, we've been promised:
-$5000 stimulus checks via "DOGE dividend"
-$2000 stimulus checks via "tariff dividend"
-$1000+ checks via "savings" from expiring ACA subsidies
-$5000 "dividend" if Rs win midterms
No checks have been issued

Gas is over $4 a gallon and new work requirements just dropped for healthcare. Jobs are scarce and wages are dropping while literally everything is more expensive. Housing is a pipe dream for most.

McConnell has been missing for months and still gets Taxpayer funded healthcare and his paychecks are still cashing. The deficit is at a record height along with our ocean temperature. We’re at war with our allies and praising our enemies while abusing our military.

No checks or balances are coming but we will get Project 2025 part 2.

469

u/Real-Extension-1357 24d ago

From NYT at Trump's august rally:

"I would pay $10 for a gallon of gas to know that there won’t be a nuclear weapon,” she added. “I’d just work extra shifts. The problem with society is nobody wants to work anymore."

Sic

She reasoned that Mr. Trump must have “more information than I do, and there’s other allies that we’re still trying to appease, to make it be more peaceful and hope for a better ending, and he doesn’t want to kill people.”

Gas prices hurt, she said, “but I’m willing to pay the price.”

“It’s hurting us, but it takes a president that’s going to have the guts to do that, even though it’s hurting him and his political party, because it’s the right thing to do,” said David Lachance, a 59-year-old retired cop from Myrtle Beach.

That actually sums up MAGA perfectly. "I would happily pay $10/gal to know that something won't happen that was never likely to happen under the deal that Trump ripped up but is now a distinct possibility if not inevitability because of Trump ripping up said deal".

At this point Trump could walk up to their house, demolish it then demand that they pay him to rebuild a replacement in a subdivision of the land they previously owned at 4x the value and they'd praise him for his masterful building skills and the moment he got that praise he'd move the fuck on, get a shoddy crew to build a shoddy shack and then sell off the rest of the land that he stole from them. By the end of it all they'd be left with a pitiful shack, a fraction of the land they previously owned AND the builders would have been paid by them rather than by Trump.

131

u/keytiri 24d ago

But they certainly weren’t willing to extend the same “grace” to Obama’s deal or recovery during Biden due Trump’s botched pandemic response; the only standards maga got are double standards.

u/cybertonto72 24d ago

I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane Mar-A-Lago with all the other rich people, and I want him brought right here! With a big ribbon on his head! And I want to look him straight in the eye, and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is! Biden had a subsidy for cheap internet. I signed up for a two year contract with Comcast because of it. Trump cancelled that immediately, and my bill skyrocketed. But you best bet I was still stuck in that contract.

That was my dividend.

182

u/POEness 24d ago

Biden capped student loan interest payments

Republicans immediately torpedoed that and fucked millions of Americans

126

u/unctuous_homunculus 24d ago

My monthly payment on SAVE was $46. My wife's was $110. On Trump's new plan I was about to default into it would have jumped to $1100, and my wife's was going to be $760. We had to get an accountant that specializes in navigating student loans and separate out the way we do taxes and it cost us a bunch of money and hassle, but now her payment is $0, and mine is $490, and we both have to file separately with itemized tax forms now, which is even more hassle. And we had to jump through so many hoops for that, and none of their online calculators were accurate or helpful getting there.

I don't see how that shit was helpful to ANYBODY. It was just spiteful anti-intellectualism. Punishing people for trying to get an education.

46

u/RoarOfTheWorlds 24d ago

Not enough people are angry that SAVE is gone. That plan was nothing short of life changing for so many americans.

31

u/asomebodyelse 24d ago

You know the reasoning given for shutting it down? They said the President can't just declare an emergency whenever he wants to issue an executive order. How many fake emergencies have we had under Trump? Unfortunately, it's only the people who were on SAVE who are angry. And then they named that "stripping away your voting rights act" the SAVE act, as if people wouldn't realize it wasn't the same thing.

Those telecom companies also already stole taxpayer money before that. They received federal funds to expand broadband internet access. They just pocketed the money and didn't do shit. The Internet is important enough to be classified as a public utility now, but there are too many people making too much money by not having it that way.

12

u/atrich Washington 24d ago

They used the money to gobble up smaller competitors' infrastructure, which apparently counted as expanding their own. The government PAID them to monopolize.

Promising money in exchange for your vote is still illegal, regardless of whether you actually pay out, or ever intended to. But this would barely scratch the top 100 of his illegal actions in office, and he hasn't been held accountable yet, so I'm not holding my breath.

u/Maxamillion-X72 Canada 24d ago

This is probably closer to the truth than people can accept. The US is reaching it's debt limit. 6 years of Trump's wild spending and poor economic polices are going to make borrowing harder and harder until they just can't anymore. You can't just destroy your worldwide soft power and alienate all your allies and expect countries to trust that you'll pay the loans when it comes due.

When the US is no longer be able to borrow money the economy will turn to dust. It'll make the inflation of the pandemic look like small potatoes. They are getting seriously panicked and throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks.

The $6B bond buyback was a dismal failure, bond rates are at all time high since just before the 2008 crash. The interest on that $40T debt is climbing and climbing fast. There's a very good reason it failed; the US is currently trying to borrow $10B a day to fewer and fewer buyers. A $6B bond buyback is like firing a BB gun at a charging bear; It's still going to eat you, but you just might have pissed it off even more. The bond market laughed at their pitiful attempt and raised rates even more.

Japan needed cash to be able to buy their own currency to keep it from falling further. The US was forced to buy a bunch of Japanese Yen just so Japan wouldn't start selling off their massive stake of US bonds to fill that need. The end result is the US ended up selling some of their Euro, a currency that holds it's value pretty consistently, to buy up Yen that wildly unstable as of late. The Yen buyback managed to keep the Yen's value stable for the month of August and then it fell off a cliff again. It's a net loss for the US but it keeps the wolves from the door for a little while.

14

u/Infinite_Music2059 25d ago

It's really incredible how it simulataneously makes both inflation worse and the deficit bigger at the exact moment American debt is becoming a major problem. It's just throwing fuel on the fire.

If there was any logic, this would be a Liz Truss moment where the bond market breaks his presidency.

He's so scared. I just wish more journalists would call him on his fear in public. Something like "if you're so confident of your popularity, why all these measures?"

131

u/AzDopefish 25d ago

“It’s the American people’s money and I’m just giving it back to them”

Your framing would offer him a lay up for his supporters to go rabid over

66

u/KrakenOmega112 25d ago

I'm talking about everything. The mid decade district changes, the explicit bribery, the attack on voting by mail - if he were so confident in his odds, whether he truly believed he was actually popular or if he believed his power was secure, he wouldn't be bitching so much.

But he is because he's afraid.

37

u/AzDopefish 25d ago

Of course, I’m just saying a journalist asking the question you initially posed wouldn’t get anywhere

If the democrats had any balls they’d be constantly calling it out making fun of him

Remember how effective Tim Walz calling the republicans weird was?

No idea why the democrats abandoned that method of making fun of republicans. They should be booking all the air time they can bringing up how sad and desperate it is and make fun of them for it.

But of course they don’t.

“Just like you did with the DOGE money and the tariff refunds?” I mean countering his arguments isn’t tough. To your point, his supporters won’t see that rebuttal and will go rabid for him regardless.

If he just stopped being such a piece of shit and used his control over his party to pass popular legislation that helped normal people, he could be actually popular.

But he can't change who he is, and isn't competent enough to pass legislation that would be effective, so I guess never mind.

That is literally a crime. You cannot even offer water to voters.

But we live in times where 'laws' do not matter to this criminal fascist.

250

u/Rynowash 25d ago

It’s all made up and the laws don’t matter. Because SCOTUS is payed in full.

24

u/data-atreides 25d ago

If SCOTUS disregards the law, we should disregard SCOTUS and enforce the law on our own. If it's all made up, so is their authority

Jezuz 🇺🇸is cooked.

Pedo running the country and funnelling money to his family.

Speaker of the house running a protection racket for the PEDO.

A clown turning 🇺🇸military into a terrorist organization for PEDO.

A tv station where the CEO stated those within are lying to 🇺🇸 protecting the PEDO.

An ENTIRE political party that has doubled down on standing behind and propping up a PEDO.

BILLIONAIRES raping and pillaging the country while standing up for their fellow PEDO.

A upcoming mid-term election where ICE will be standing at the door intimidating the voters and Musk inside the machines altering the votes.

Now the head PEDO is trying to buy votes from the same people that KNOW they’ll never see a penny.

What the hell is happening?

He’s saying he’ll only do this if Republicans maintain the house and senate. They currently control both of them, so he could do this right now if he wanted to.

But instead of doing it right now, at a time Americans are struggling mightily, he’s going to hold it over heads until he gets something in return.

And Republicans will eat it up.
