Lucario deck
Hi to everyone, i recently got into the tcg and started with mega Sharpedo and managed to reach master rank in 4-5 days with a win rate of 62%. I went to a Local shop and they suggested MLucario saying its more competitive and complete then sharpedo, i tried the hariyama version but i keep loosing against Any deck that is psychic, i get that is a bad matchup but with sharpedo i managed to win against basic box. Also i get a hard time also against single prize decks where with sharpedo i think I have a Fair winrate. First of all i wanted to ask if is really a better deck or no? And second whats my plan against psychic decks? I really like both decks so just want to be sure to pick the better one before buying it
Also open to new deck suggestion, maybe in the same price range, only thing i like a deck without a mess of pokemon like the basic box or the reshiram

Considerably debatable on which is the better deck.
Lucario is an unfortunate colleteral damage due to dragapult’s and lillie’s clefairy existance, so it just gets crushed by any deck that is ready for dragapult.
Sharpedo, on the other hand, has to face all the grass decks currently popular, like ogerpon/hydrapple/meganium mixes and featival lead.

This is going to get much worse with Mew ex (30C) as a tech. Most decks will be able to counter Mega Lucario this way.

While Dragapult exists, I don’t think it’ll be much worse, decks that run Mew to help against it are probably already running Clefairy. Worse still, just not that much.
But after next year’s rotation, it’ll probably be the greatest offender for Lucario, ye (unless another dragon overlord takes Dragapult’s place. Please god let this not be the case)

Mew Ex is (yet another) huge hit for Lucario. He just gets another huge chunk of random decks with a psychic attacker.
I'll tell you my case: Beedrill ex will run it. Before, Beedrill needed to 2 shot Lucario. Now it's a one shot. It's this kind of random bullshit that stops Lucario from succeeding

I feel like the Grass threat has diminished somewhat since Worlds though. It really seems like FLead has fallen from grace and pure Grass box is somewhat rare in my experience.

sharpedo right now is at least equally as competitive. that hasn't been the case for long though and can change quickly. both are very meta dependent

If you feel more comfortable with sharpedo, play the shark. You feel like you're more comfortable and more assured when playing sharks, so keep playing what you like. Both decks will be fairly cheap to build, so that's not much of an issue. I'd rather play a gimmicky rouge deck that I'm much more confident in than playing some meta pick some guys at a locals tell me to play

If you want something spicy, you can try out this Lucario / Togekiss deck. I made Top 8 at two different League Cups with it over the past week, so it’s definitely viable.
I like it because it makes unwinnable MUs like Dhelmise actually winnable…my R1 for the first Cup was against Dhelmise, and I was able to 2-2-2 him (Aura Jab + 2x PPP for first KO, accelerate 3 Energies to Togekiss, Speed Wing for second KO, then I KO’d his Latias with Mega Brave with my other Lucario to take the last two prizes).
My only gripe continues to be getting Unfair Stamped after a Budew KO…I’m thinking of teching in a SFA Genesect and +1 Air Balloon. Let me know if you have any other questions about playing it! I’ll post my MUs in another comment.

deck performance hugely depends on the context.
in a regional where 30-40% of the meta is pult and a lot of plant decks, lucario wil fare better
but if your local is mostly psy decks, lucario will struggle a lot while it'll be free for sharpedo
live ladder is on crack and the meta relevant deck is the new trendy stuff

It sounds like you are better at sharpedo right now, how many games have you played with MLucario compared to Sharpedo? It is possible that you are just more experienced with sharpedo right now.
You might get better with Lucario with time.

They're both beatstick decks with not much to offer except "do big number".
That being said, Sharpedo is somewhat more complicated because it has more moving parts, at least if you want to leverage its full potential. On the surface it's a straight attacker for 270, similar to Lucario, but run it with Pecharunt ex, Binding Mochi and Munkidori and you are able to hit for up to 340 (technically even more but you'll rarely be running more than one Munki).
Lucario, on the other hand, is dependant on Premium Power Pro, which you only have 4 of, to crack those OHKO tresholds

Any other suggestion for a deck? I dont really mind if its complex because i like to learn new decks

I'm currently running Sharpedo myself, but also a Tank Kangaskhan deck that is quite hilarious.
It's basically the list that made 72th in Worlds with some slight changes. I'm currently approximately 40-20 with it on Live. You just don't want to get matched into Lucario.

Edit: Thx to all of you for the suggestion and adivces, i like both decks a lot and also like a lot the pokemon, i think they are good in their ways and obviously have their weaknesses. I like a lot hariyama and its ability and also likes a lot the speed of mega sharpedo, i Guess ill keep trying both and sort out which one to buy

Agaisnt basic box you got first. Turn 2 get a KO with aura jab on a fez/meowth or kang with ppp, use hariyama for the gust. Accelerate 2-3 energy to hariyama.
Lucario then gets knocked out. The next turn you KO 2 a prizer with hariyama, whilst setting up a riolu on the bench. Dont evolve it because they will boss lucario and win.
When hariyama gets KOd, evolve riolu into lucario and take the last 2 prizes.
I also run shaymin in lucario because they can wellspring for 2 once your hariyama is damaged with its attack.
Overall i think the matchup is better than people think if you play it correctly.

Lucario has a history of better/more results than Sharpedo at big tournaments. That being said, play what you like better for now. When you're new, it can be better to learn one deck and stick with it for a while.
