Statistics Phillies end 2026 with four top 100 prospects on MLB Pipeline

Do. Not. Trade. Renteria.

But there may be an AS reliever on the market next year that had a flash in the pan first half that we HAVE to have.

For the last three months we’ve been complaining about the team not making enough moves at the deadline lol this fanbase always wants it both ways.
Which top prospect has the org traded away that would solve their issues right now?

u/JustBrowsing49 2d ago
Obviously still time for some of the recent trades to evolve, but what blue chip prospect we traded away this century has come back to haunt us? I agree don’t trade him for nothing, but former “untouchables” like Sixto, Kyle Drabek, Michael Taylor, Jared Cosart, etc etc were busts. As was the one we didn’t ship out: Dominic Brown

u/TheGreatDudebino Francisco Renteria 2029 2d ago
I legitimately think they would never trade him unless it’s for an established superstar

For those that want to compare
Braves have 3 (though their 3rd best is higher than our 2nd) Mets have 1 Nats have 4
Dodgers, Mariners and Rays all tied with most at 6.

Dodgers are fake tho. They inflate their rankings so they're able to pull off their trades without it looking too suspicious

Mets called up a bunch of guys recently
Braves have more mid tier guys who they can use as arms than the Phillies ever do

Slightly above average and we had 2 that were in the top 100 last year play the entire season in the bigs and did fairly well overall. My god it would be great if we started developing talent in the minors.

u/Known_Upstairs_7807 2d ago
They would have five if they hadn’t traded one of the best pitching prospects in baseball for two unproductive months of Luis Arraez

u/Icy-Refrigerator-517 2d ago
What's funny about these things is the prospect huggers revile any trade that ever exists and the WIP go for it neanderthals want the impulsively go all in every year.
The truth lies in the middle. Marquez is not projected to be much more than a mid rotation starter. They got a high level player back, it didn't work, and so it goes.

Traded our top pitching prospect for a slap hitting second baseman smh

If you’re referring to Abel, he only pitched 4 games this year, then went out with elbow surgery. Liked the kid a lot, but we may have dodged a missile

Top 100 over 30 teams is an average of 3.33, so about average.

u/Strange-Cold-5192 2d ago
I very much like 3 of these guys, but not the one at the very top

I’ve never understood the hype around Wood. He feels more like a reliever to me and none of his stat lines in the minors really jump out at you. He’s young but he did go through college so he isn’t 18/19 playing against guys much old than him. I just don’t get it but I hope I’m wrong on the kid.

u/Mugstotheceiling Hot (now lukewarm) for Stott 1d ago
Great strikeout stuff but gives up a lot of homers. Needs to learn the art of pitching if he’s gonna level up.

Current list of former Phillies on other major or minor league rosters. Very thorough. We could have used Jeff Hoffman this year and Gregory Soto and seranthony domingoes. Ben Brown, Anthony Gose

They’re going to be sacrificially drowned in the Schuylkill on Opening Day 2027 to appease the baseball gods, so I sure hope it is!

Glad to see Rincon getting up there!!
Don't underestimate Tristan Garnett though. He's going to be a STUD

u/matrix_5555 It is Bedlam at the Bank! 1d ago
I disagree with Garnett. He’s a 28 (going to be 29 next year) year old reliever who’s got okay stuff and has struggled in AAA. He screams career minor leaguer, but again, we could see him up if he does very well next year.
I think of all the relief pitchers in the Phillies’ system, three stick out to me as potential studs - Mavis Graves, Wen-Hui Pan, and Estibenzon Jimenez. Graves, a former starter, was very solid when he was called up to Reading and switched to the pen. Pan was outstanding, considering it was his first full season after missing time in the previous two due to injury. And Jimenez filled in the closer spot nicely for Reading once Alex McFarlane was called up to the majors. I think those three have the potential to make an impact in the majors next year. Be on the lookout for the 2026 draftees - Ruger Riojas, Jaxon Jelkin and Deven Sheerin stand out the most to me (I have a personal connection with Sheerin; me and him went to the same high school)

Jaxon Jelkin is the most 70s baseball name ever

If this is legit , then why are the Phillies always getting ripped for having a lousy system

I’d also add that (1) Renteria and Rincon were not on this list a few months ago, (2) Miller’s stock rebounded a bit by returning to the field and (3) some of the 2026 draft picks have been received well. So the system is perceived as stronger today than it was earlier this year.

Everybody is convinced that we have one of the worst farms in history, yet we had 4 top 100 prospects last year, traded 1 and brought 2 of them up this year, still had 3 top 100 entering the season, traded 1, and now have 4 top 100 at the end of the season. All while never being limited in trade talks by a lack of prospect capital, according to Dombrowski.
Nobody is going to mistake the Phillies farm for the brewers or dodgers, but things are not as dire as people write in their fan fiction either.

Problem is that you need to dump bums to make room or admit that Scott/Marsh won’t be here long term
3
u/Classh0le Dumbrowski 2d ago
I don't understand the sunken cost fallacy with Trea Turner. Put him 9th, bench him, whatever, get him tf out of any responsibility. 7 more years of him
1
u/jhamels Nothing ever good happens after midnight 1d ago
What? You don’t have to do anything just let time take care of itself. None of these guys are ready for the start of next season unless it’s in 2028. Bohm will be gone and probably replaced by a FA. They can evaluate Stott/Marsh next year and see if any of these kids look ready to take their spot when the daycare’s contracts are up. They can do the same with Hill the year after. The timeline will take care of itself nobody is blocked here except Wood and they can find him starts in a 6 man rotation if Wood is good enough to force the issue.

u/Mugstotheceiling Hot (now lukewarm) for Stott 1d ago
Marsh will probably be traded or they’ll let him walk in 2028. Stott, they better sign him to an extension. He had the highest fWAR on the team this year.
