HELP

WE NEED HELP TO BE INDEPENDENT

lmfao. I am so sick of this timeline.

I don't think it was ever about an Independent Alberta as much as it was joining the US under the guise of independence.

They claim that they are oppressed and taken advantage of by Ottawa, but see no issue in the vocal minority dragging every Albertan with them if they were to somehow separate. And their big-brained response would be nothing more than some form of "if they don't like it, they should leave Alberta." Meanwhile, they could just leave Canada. Oh wait, they can't just do that because the US doesn't really want THEM, just the resources under their feet. They'd just be the next Venezuela.

Edit: a word

u/Stray_Neutrino 12h ago

Makes sense. A vocal minority is dragging the US down so why not them?

10

u/Magjee Toronto 9h ago

Alberta is being taken advantage of by Canada

And they are being oppressed again by other Albertans not agreeing with them

And they are being oppressed by their mom not making enough lasagna

And they are beingg oppressed by the their neighbour taking the garbage out the night before, instead of panicing the same morning

And so on and so forth

it's not a coherent ideology. all they can really agree on is open carry, open container, and no more brown people; things like independence vs US territory is a detail for eggheads.

polling puts leave supporters at 20%, most of which don't actually want to leave; but the movement puts it closer to 75. that's the level of understanding of the larger world they're working with.

16yo sister sues for émancipation.

Her boyfriend is a pimp.

Guess who paid for the lawyer and became in their debt?

4

u/Atma-Darkwolf 12h ago

you mean a few 'selling' what they can and retiring somewhere nice, while the rest of us are left to fend for selves as a hungry fat southern neighbor 'claims' us but does not allow us voting rights.

Alberta traitors commit treason.

There. Fixed it for you.

50

u/friendlyneighbourho 12h ago

Sedition

38

u/haysoos2 11h ago

With the economic hostilities, this has also become textbook High Treason.

8

u/HMTMKMKM95 9h ago

By Carney's own words, def treason.

1

u/magsbad13 7h ago

And now Quebec traitors have joined them, but I'm worried that there's a much higher percentage in Quebec than Alberta.

u/aglobalvillageidiot 13h ago

I'd assume it was being organized by Americans the entire time. It's a pretty typical US playbook, it can even work when everyone knows it's happening, especially with algorithmic media. People just think it's the kind of thing America does elsewhere or that we're too smart for here.

53

u/Biosterous 12h ago

Yes and that's why there has to be charges.

Any organiser involved in this should be facing treason charges. American owned media needs to be ignored when they cry crocodile tears about this being politically motivated.

The RCMP and CSIS need to track the funding, and companies/owners involved need to face sanctions.

This is a very clear threat to our democracy. If we allow this to stand, we will end up with our own September 11th, 1973.

36

u/macrotron 12h ago

Americans have been doing this shit for over a century at this point

-8

u/Syrairc 12h ago

Every global power has, yep.

16

u/Different_Wolf_764 12h ago

Some more than others.

10

u/Hussar223 8h ago

remember a few months back when some leading alberta separatists met with some US government officials. i would bet anything there were a few CIA agents there too.

this is what america does best, destabilize other countries. they have been doing it for decades.

6

u/Shot_Cupcakes 11h ago

It was only a question of time before the USA decided Albertan oil is in need of some freedom.

67

u/watchitbend 12h ago

If we continue to hurr durr this shit while they continue to commit sedition in broad daylight, this will only get worse, regardless of the referendumb. This goes all the way to the top of Albertan politics, and has been for a long time now. Nothing is being done about it. Nothing.

18

u/NonNewtonianResponse 12h ago

Call your MPs and complain

21

u/Canada1971 12h ago

Alberta Conservative MPs are in in the game.

9

u/NonNewtonianResponse 12h ago

Maybe, but I meant everybody else too, since it's a threat to the entire country

4

u/Bigchunky_Boy 9h ago

Yes they have been caught in the Atlas network of underground MAGA sphere of extortion and influence full of bad foreign actors.

1

u/watchitbend 9h ago

I have, repeatedly.

6

u/untitledmillennial ✅ I voted! 10h ago

Just because it isn't public doesn't mean they don't know. You think CSIS and the feds are just going to lay it all out in a CBC article?

5

u/chmilz Alberta 8h ago

RCMP is responsible for policing national crimes and has proven over and over it is either unwilling or incapable of handling any serious crime. CSIS is an intelligence agency, they share information with RCMP, who doesn't do anything with it.

3

u/untitledmillennial ✅ I voted! 8h ago

I'm talking about the USA's involvement. They can't wave that around in public.

3

u/watchitbend 9h ago

No of course not. I just don't have any faith that anything of real consequence is going to happen on the required timeline for crimes that can deliver this level of impact on the country. A long-winded and slow moving investigation that in a few years time decides in finally time to act on the mountains of evidence will be too late.

45

u/Sensitive-Local-3485 13h ago

lol called it.

American sympathizers will offer up the wealth of Alberta because theyre in it to be their own lil territorial politburo.

47

u/AshundertheOlivetree 13h ago

Of course the first things a separatist does is sell off their most important assets for liquidity they would have never gained if not for stealing

31

u/Surturiel 13h ago

Time to arrest those bozos.

35

u/castlite 12h ago edited 11h ago

Nationalize energy. Fuck the past, Carney can do it.

Edit: Actually if we don’t do it with Carney as PM, it’ll never happen.

18

u/PNDMike 11h ago

Best time to nationalize would have been 50+ years ago.

Second best time to nationalize is right now.

-1

u/cgsc_systems 7h ago

You want to get invaded by the US that's pretty well how you do it.

32

u/surviving606 12h ago

It’s the Putin Donbas playbook and they’ll eventually attempt invasion to “liberate” Alberta. This whole thing has been a U.S. oligarch backed sham from day 1

7

u/Bigchunky_Boy 9h ago

This 100%

-5

u/jjaime2024 11h ago

Trump does not have the support do it even with in Maga.

20

u/Mountain-Bar5049 10h ago

I would not want to be complacent about that considering how rapidly the US has descending into whatever it is they are now.

-4

u/jjaime2024 10h ago

The Iran war has turned people away from any more wars.

5

u/umpteenthrhyme 8h ago

Wars before it turned people off of more wars. Trump even fuckin’ campaigned on it.

44

u/FunnyMalzairIdea 13h ago

Too bad we don't have a national police force and an intelligence agency who could have begun prosecution of these traitors. I guess that protecting pipelines from indigenous protestors takes up all their time.

8

u/chmilz Alberta 8h ago

During the transition, Trudeau told Carney one of his first moves should be to perform a complete overhaul of RCMP to give it the resources and priority to handle the very crimes being committed, knowing Canada is under major attacks from a number of foreign actors.

9

u/Stray_Neutrino 12h ago

Those who work forces…

30

u/PNDMike 12h ago

I think it's high time we nationalized that oil. Alberta clearly can't be trusted with it any longer.

22

u/Tulos 12h ago

I mean hell, maybe we could finally get a provincial government that works for us instead of a fucking oil lobbyist premier in that scenario.

13

u/OneBillPhil 10h ago edited 9h ago

Her name was Rachel Notley, lasted four years, lost elections to fucking Jason Kenney and Danielle Smith.

1

u/br0k3nh410 9h ago

And in those 4 years she basically burned Alberta to the ground. Left the province in shambles! Shambles I tell you!! /s

3

u/Shot_Cupcakes 11h ago

I support this.

10

u/canadave_nyc 12h ago edited 12h ago

How these people are not under arrest for treason is beyond my comprehension. If nothing else, it would place them in a cell while their trial proceeds, and thus are not as easily able to foment unrest.

7

u/Mantaur4HOF Nova Scotia 6h ago

What's the punishment for treason in Canada? Life sentence, I believe.

6

u/Rationalinsanity1990 Halifax 6h ago

High treason is a mandatory life sentence, no chance of parole for 25 years.

7

u/g1syc1ny 13h ago

Treason. Sell outs.

11

u/Luddites_Unite 12h ago

How is that not sedition?

6

u/TelenorTheGNP 12h ago

I want the names of the American agents who entertained this stuff.

6

u/ceciliabee 11h ago

Seditious traitors.

5

u/Jeramy_Jones British Columbia 10h ago

When do we start calling this treason?

I know Canadians are nice but can we maybe not let traitors tear the country apart?

5

u/JenniferLeBlanc 13h ago

Effing traitors

5

u/puppymama75 10h ago edited 9h ago

The Alberta Geological Survey has maps that show how to redirect all of Alberta’s water south.
I know this because I am friends with a guy who converted those maps into the metric system back when that nationwide conversion happened.
So these plans have been around for a while.
Where did they originate???

PS. I just checked; conversion from miles to km happened around 1977. This guy is in his 70s so this tracks. He was assigned this task as an intern fresh out of college.

3

u/Striking_Economy5049 12h ago

So people who don’t own anything giving things they don’t own away for “royalties.”

Forget treason charges, it’s time to do much much worse to these people.

3

u/Odd-Kaleidoscope8863 10h ago

They should get the American punishment for treason since they want to be American so bad.

3

u/NoCommonDog 9h ago

What goes around comes around. I think that when they lose, Canadian government should sieze their property since they felt so liberal in offering it to a foreign government.

3

u/Bizzlebanger 9h ago

They should all be charged with treason....

2

u/oxxcccxxo 12h ago

Are any of these people going to be charged with treason?

2

u/void_sushi Ontario 11h ago

Is the leader of this country going to do anything about this? Of course not.

2

u/Jamlad 9h ago

Treasonous.

2

u/Doctor_Amazo Toronto 9h ago

So this is straight up treason.

2

u/FluxLeakage 8h ago

*USA Makes Move to Gain Control Over Canadian Resources by Funding Separatist Movement

FTFY

2

u/-lovehate Ontario 7h ago

if this isn’t the definition of treason, I don’t know what is

1

u/Assignment_General 11h ago

“Independence help”

We really do exist in the dumbest timeline

1

u/Aldamur 10h ago

They are out of their mind.

1

u/OneBillPhil 10h ago

Why don’t these motherfuckers just move to the US?

1

u/DemoEvolved 10h ago

Ofc they did.

1

u/MoogleVivi 9h ago

Fuck these traitors. They better be rotting in the future

1

u/Next_Passage8055 9h ago

Waiting for arrests to start happening... waiting.... waiting

1

u/Mental_Cartoonist_68 9h ago

When does someone, anyone. Charge those traitors?

1

u/Infinite_Show_5715 8h ago

What if Canada did the craziest thing - and stood up to protect its own sovereignty by enforcing laws that are already on the books for this exact type of crime....?

Could you imagine? WOULD BE WILD

1

u/ImmovableMind 8h ago

This is American foreign interference. Everyone involved should be tried for sedition and treason!

1

u/SimplePlus7376 7h ago

I do so want to see her, and her cohorts, on trial.

1

u/Sea_Cucumber_5989 6h ago

Historically, what happens to traitors?

1

u/DonkeyFieldMouse 6h ago

So they don't want Ottawa 'telling them what to do' but are happy to bend over for a foreign state?

1

u/nelson6364 6h ago

I love how these Albertains think that the Americans would give them a choice regarding their water and oil after they separate.
