I’m looking for a place that will serve whole baked purple sweet potatoes. So far I’ve found a place called Kohakuimo but the potatoes they use are not the purple ones. Any ideas or suggestions?

I bought this from Mobal (https://www.mobal.com/pocket-wifi-japan/) so that I could access basic 4G internet while waiting for fibre internet installation at home. Good enough for Netflix on my Samsung TV and basic internet surfing on my laptop. The stick plugs into any USB-C charger and is worth 6,980 yen; plans start at 4,980/month. You can pause service and reactivate later, so good for people who visit occasionally but repeatedly.

Now that I have fibre, I don’t need this anymore. I’d rather just mail it to someone else rather than create more landfill. My subscription expired last June. I don’t know how easy it is to transfer this hardware to a new subscription service for someone else. Probably requires contacting customer service and giving them the IMEI.

Howdy! Just curious if anybody has solid locations for a larger piece of meat? Pork butt, full packer, briskets, etc. Commissary has choice at best and I did find some tomahawks at Costco, but not a lot of great options elsewhere.

Hello I was hoping to do some higher end shopping or atleast browse while i’m in Japan. I love Gina Tanaka but they don’t have a store near Okinawa. Any suggestions for high end Japanese brands/goods? I’m not interested in international brands more so Japanese only brands.
Would also appreciate if there are stores that sell Gina Tanaka since there’s a bracelet of there’s I was hoping to purchase!

I am going to Okinawa the end of August, and am hoping to buy some nice fountain pens and stationery supplies. Any recommendations for stores to visit?

Context: my mom lost her favourite pair of earrings which she got on her Japan trip a few years back, I’m flying in to Okinawa for a short getaway and I’d love to be able to buy the same if not a similar pair for her as a gift.

Hello, I have a unique question, I am visiting Okinawa for just a few days and won’t be able to stop by into the mainland. There is a jewelry store that I really like and want to purchase an item or two from. However they do not mail it overseas and said they would not mail it to my hotel. Any thoughts or ideas how I can purchase it?

I just need some help determining what I need to buy over here in the states to ship over to Oki . I’ve heard some items are not sold or are super expensive compared to the states . I know stuff like Furniture is a big one . People say to bring your US furniture if you are use to the big sizes and decent prices . I am good on that front . I am buying 2 midea dehumidifiers here in the states . I’m also buying some backpacking gear/ camping gear here in states before going over there . Is there anything else y’all would say I should buy here and not over there . It can be household items , outdoor gear, tools, any neat gadgets , etc ?

We will be visiting Onna later this year with my 18month old toddler. I’ve just found out the accommodation only supplies cots for under 12 month olds. Are there any baby wear rental companies in Onna that someone could recommend?

Looking at moving to Okinawa in about 1-2 months from the US. This happened very short notice and I'm scrambling to manage the numbers and find places for me and my family to stay for a few years. I'm having a hard time finding decent listings for housing, condo, or apartments other than housingokinawa.com. Everywhere else has no listings or only two.

My husband’s S2 brought him this a while back when he was working. I didn’t take a picture of the packaging and am desperately searching for it EVERYWHERE. This photo has red bean paste inside BUT the snack I had was filled with Mitarashi sauce, the same that’s used for Dango! I’ve tried googling and I have no idea what it’s called. Please help 🥲 When I used AI it told me it was Mitarashi Dango O-Yaki style? But google images of that looking nothing close to it. It looks EXACTLY like this picture but with Mitarashi sauce inside instead. What is this actually called and where do I find it?! It came in 8 or 10 pieces, and it was in plastic packaging.
