It was a bit tricky but I managed to masturbate to it.

How the water looks when you wake up thirsty at 3AM

Only it you still have your blue tint glasses still on. I prefer my rose colored glasses.

It's a bad idea to drink it. The glacier is doing perfect in preserving all kinds of bacteria

Is it drinkeable ?

I don’t think it’s recommended, you need to filter or boil it beforehand.

Not supposed to - cause there may be ancient bacteria in it.
My ignorance meant that I drank it. The tour guide (helicopter pilot) actually encouraged us - it was very tasty.

Generally speaking water should not be treated as drinkable/potable in any natural setting, it's always best to filter or boil it. That being said if you are with a guide and they can attest to the general safety of the water that's less risky.
-camping/hiking enthusiast for many decades. Seen plenty of people drink from a natural source and be fine, and others not so much.

I remember when it was safe to drink pretty much any clear, moving water when out camping.
Now? Nope, no chance. Giardia is everywhere.

I drank it, but used a Lifestraw to filter it. Was the best tasting water I have ever had.

Survivor bias here, but I drank straight from streams and rivers north of Smithers in British Columbia in 2000 without either boiling or filtering and didn’t get sick; it was all glacier-melt. Things may or may not have changed from then, and I was a stupid 18 year old kid on an epic bike journey who knew nothing about wilderness survival.

Can you compare the flavor to bottled water ?

u/Voltmanderer 1h ago
Bottled water doesn’t compare. Think the best RO water that has been frozen, melted and refrozen, with all the minerals re-added.

I’ve had glacier water from a stream right on a glacier a few times and I never got sick, but I wasn’t thinking about bacteria back then. Maybe I got lucky. But it was pretty effin fresh!

I want to drink this. I know I shouldn’t, I know there is likely bacteria and all sorts probably in there, but I still want to drink it.

Ugh... I hate this vine. Never understood the joke and this dude just seems like an absolute douche of the kind that can't even be funny. Yet every comp includes this and I still don't get it
