Darkness over Daggerford stronghold basement help/possible bug

so i need a bit of help with actually finding the basement to start with

i can see exactly where it's supposed to be, in the room with the throne, except take the stairs down

i even found a video of someone going down there

except on my game the interactable simply doesn't seem to be there. does it appear at a certain point? do i need to complete more of the stronghold quests? i've done about 3, and started the renovation, now just waiting for the merchant to get some item for me, but even that just says keep waiting

You should be able to enter the basement right away. I can only think you have some mods that might be interfering?

Also make sure you have exhausted the dialogue that she has. I am pretty sure the basement is mentioned

playing on ps5 so definitely no mods

she does mention it, which is the only reason i knew it even existed

in the end i tried to advance the story to see if thats what the issue was and accidentally hit the point of no return

i'm guessing either a bug or a change in the EE

It might be a bug. But I know it worked for me in EE. It does remind me that sometimes they place the stair interactable in an awkward spot so you can easily miss it by walking through it. Maybe the interactable for those stairs are closer to the throne than down the stairs themselves?

i mean maybe, but i definitely looked pretty thoroughly. might try doing that module again and just speeding to that area to see if it's any different

I loaded up a save I had (this is on PC however) and this is where the interactable is. If yours isn't there I would lean towards it being bugged.

Almost certainly a bug with the PS4/5 version - it's unfortunately got a bunch of issues, and hasn't been patched in years.

It is a bug. I'm not sure at what point it triggers (since some PS4/PS5 players have been able to access that door) but once you've encountered it, there is no amount of reloading that will fix it. :|
