He did it, for US.

His lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in film scores. Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your asshole. Phil Collins' movie scoring career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way.

Especially songs like “Two Worlds”, “Son of a Man”, and “Strangers Like Me”. Sabrina, don't just stare at it, eat it. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of pop rock, than as a film composer, and I stress the word composer. This is “You’ll Be In My Heart”, a great, great song. A personal favorite.

The color palate in this film is amazing, the music is perfect, and I love the voice acting.

Honestly, I wish Disney would adapt more classic lit stories and give them their own twist.

If you said that Disney’s music would be better after Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast and Lion King… I would probably laugh at you.

Then Phil Collins happened

Tarzan is part of the Disney renaissance. Having great music is essentially a requirement.

In the commentary, this is where the creative team said "We had to do this animated, because if we'd had a live actor do this, we would have killed him"

This movie holds up incredibly well and this sequence is definitely one of the highlights

holds up much better than the book.

It's a lot darker than I remembered. The gorilla baby and his parents die in the first five minutes and the villain dies by being hung via vines

It’s sad Disney doesnt do movies like this any more. 90s Disney was just next level. So many bangers. Tarzan I think is sometimes forgotten

Loved this scene. Banger of a tune by Phil Collins and that transition from young kid Tarzan to adult is brilliant.

In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn

Like, it’s such a simple line but as time has gone on, and I’ve become a teacher myself, I’ve found it to be a surprisingly profound observation from Phil Collins
