f*ck there honestly were some damn good ones.

I wish Cinema was like it used to be.

Some highlights:

  • Castaway
  • Snatch
  • Meet The Parents
  • Gladiator
  • Pitch Black
  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas
  • Final Destination
  • High Fidelity
  • American Psycho
  • The Virgin Suicides
  • Frequency
  • Gone In 60 Seconds
  • Scary Movie
  • X-Men
  • Almost Famous
  • Dancer In The Dark
  • Requiem For A Dream
  • Red Planet
  • Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
  • Dude, Where's My Car?
  • The Family Man

Imagine if that many movies of this caliber came out in one year today? What happened to society 😭

By typing this list, you made me realise how much of a gap it is compared to today, I mean, I already knew, but seeing it is depressive

Aww, I love Frequency. Haven't seen it in probably twenty years. I should rewatch it. Yahoo!

I worked at a hometown movie theater in 2000 and the only movie they showed was How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I saw that movie a thousand times. It’s seared into my brain.

This is still one of my favourites! Felt like the next Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, which might be my favourite!

Not a technical masterpiece by any stretch but as a teenager who loved Kung Fu movies and hip hop, Romeo Must Die was the shit for me.

Loved Almost Famous! It really captured that era. A strong performance by Kate Hudson.
