Happy heavenly birthday to Charlton Heston! What’s your favorite movie he was in?
Mine is The Ten Commandments. I used to watch it twice when I was younger. The parting of the Red Sea remains the best part.

Once I found out how Michael Moore manipulated facts in that movie I knew he wasn't trustworthy as a documentary filmmaker. I wish he had stuck to comedies. Canadian Bacon was really great.

Which facts did he manipulate? I heard he did this.

There's a famous sequence where a bank was giving away hunting rifles with new accounts. In the film it appears like he walks into the bank, signs up for an account, and walks out the front door with the rifle.
In reality the bank was giving away vouchers which the customer would then take to a local gun store where they would do the customary federal background check before receiving their rifle. Moore pressured the bank staff to let him get this all done ahead of time and have the rifle waiting for him at the bank so he could get the visuals he wanted for his movie, which they eventually agreed to.
It just seems dishonest to me.

Not an American, but even the fact that he was able to do this is pretty bad optics for the bank

Not where that bank was at; it was apparently a very popular promotion. In many places hunting is a way of life that a lot of people use to feed their families. Getting a free hunting rifle could be very beneficial to a lot of people.

The Ten Commandments is obviously his best.
But I will give an honorable mention to "The Omega Man".

Ben-Hur is tough to beat. The chariot race is really something special.

Such a great film until the end. Therr is no way Chuck Connors is losing a fist fight to Charleton Heston!

Planet of the Apes 1968. I am 71. It was amazing to me as a teen to watch that movie in Page AZ/Utah I can’t remember. We traditionally camped in Utah/AZ from LA in the 50/60s. We kids wore tap shoes on the sandstone at Lake Powell/Moab/Lake Mead while we camped using my WW2 dad’s army-green canvas tent.
It was a safe movie to see for three teenagers and their parents. It had a shocking ending.
I hate how Michael Moore created a mockery fake meme of old guy Charlton Heston.
ETA: the movie was filmed at Lake Powell so that’s why I added my comment about camping in the sandstone.

Where he is the lead, Soylent Green. Where he is part of an excellent cast, The Three Musketeers and The Four Musketeers.
I even like The Greatest Show on Earth even if it is a bit awful.
