AI hallucinated the date on the bottom post! The post from r/WetlanderHumor is a crosspost of this one!

It was AI generated though so still not OP's image

When I asked google it came back as quote "unsure or inconclusive". Honestly I'm not sure those synthid checks are trustworthy

Does it say "used verify ai" in the response details? If you don't specifically ask for it sometimes it doesn't even check with SynthID for some reason (trillion dollar company can't even get a watermark right lmao)

I used the google ai modus to test it and it did not show that mark. I did ask if it could actual use synthid to which it replied it could, even in a separate session. But you know ai... I assume it was just wrong there

Ill admit that I assumed ai modus and gemini basically where the same thing. But just to be sure I tried with gemini as well and there I did get the little mark, and it did also say the image was ai generated. So ill assume that's right then? Honestly I hate this entire process. Why does it have to be build in some ai chatbot. Let me just directly put the image in the detection system. Rather then into the machine that occasionally lies to you

Yeah that makes sense, of course google would fuck up the most simple task possible. How openai does it is just so much better, you upload the image, it loads, and gives an answer. Simple as that. And you don't even have to play mind games with the plagiarism machine, crazy shit.

Lol you asked gemini?

Yes that's unfortunately the only way to check for Google's SynthID. No clue why they baked it into Gemini.

Ugh. I hate people. Thanks. It's getting tiring.

I just got reminded of why I stopped participating in Reddit. People posting AI bullshit, people stealing photos… why? It’s completely destroyed Reddit.

That’s really unfortunate. So the OP is pretending it’s theirs. Not cool. Yeah why do they have so much karma and no posts? Can this be reported?

u/ByteMePlz 4h ago

Not sure on the 2018 date but it was just a report ans only 12 hours old currently.

A bot that doesn't know grammar.
